  1. Makes no sense. Geographically they’ll stretch the conference for very little gain. Denver, Salt Lake City, and Phoenix are major airport hubs that are easy to get to. Spokane airport is not. True it’s close to campus which minimizes the bus ride after landing (looking at you WVU) but still it’s not worth the hassle. As great as the Zags have been in basketball, it’s all based around a single coach. Once Few retires they have no idea if the program can sustain or not. Especially in a world run by football, why would you saddle yourself with a permanent members for a short term gain that likely turns out to be a long term headache? We know realignment isn’t done either with the ACC still ripe for the taking. The Big 12 needs to keep its powder dry.
  2. Damn the Big Ten loves them some Iowa rivalries. I don’t get it.
  3. Yep, that’s why ESPN loves those off night games. You almost automatically get a million viewers just because nothing else is on and sports bars/gamblers/cfb junkies are going to have something on the TV.
  4. Based on recent history, he’ll be on Jimbo’s staff next year.
  5. TV picks the time slots, they put the game where they think it will get the most eyeballs (and they are right) when we are in the SEC and can be the 230 game of the week exclusively for the conference it will be at 230. The SEC has a major built in audience in that CBS 230 window that isn’t profitable for ESPN to compete against (which is why ESPN paid $300 million for it). 11am: Texas/OU on ABC and Ohio St/Maryland on FOX and LSU/Mizzou (all undefeated but LSU) 230: Bama/aggy on CBS, Virginia Tech/Florida St on ABC, Syracuse/UNC on ESPN, UCF/Kansas on FOX (ESPN/FOX clearly sacrificed weaker games in this window) Prime: Notre Dame/Louisville on ABC, Kentucky/Georgia on ESPN, Michigan/Minnesota on NBC, and Fresno St/Wyoming on FOX
  6. I noticed they took down the flags too, but yeah…not going to buy 4 new ones for a single year. Will be interested to see if they put up new ones next year.
  7. Did Mike Slive attend this game? https://www.espn.com/college-football/game/_/gameId/313020245
  8. I agree with the others that there isn’t much out there yet and that this might be just wish casting by the Tiger fans. But looking through some other boards, this is the most recent post on it from a quasi reputable source. https://awfulannouncing.com/college-football/clemson-leave-acc-sooner-than-later.html And saw this on YouTube (just discussion, no news)
  9. USC at Colorado 7.2 million Kansas at Texas 3.3 million Utah at Oregon St 1.2 million Cincy at BYU 1.2 million (Friday) Iowa St at Oklahoma 800k WVU at TCU 700k Baylor at UCF 300k Houston at Tech 100k Arizona and ASU on PAC 12 Network (unrated) K State and Oklahoma St BYE
  10. Arkansas/aggy was a Tier 3 game this year (comparable to Mizzou/Vandy) and was on the SEC Network which does not release its viewership data.
  11. Nope just people complaining that heart reactions makes it looks like people love dead burned murder victims or what have you.
  12. Pretty funny but this is true…
  13. They get FOX’s 230 slot to themselves next year which is GREAT for the Big 12. Currently they share ABC with 40 P5 teams (PAC12(12), B12(14), ACC(14)=40) but next year they’ll share with 49 teams (Big12(16), ACC(17), SEC(16)=49) and ABC will have access to broadcast SEC games for the first time (despite the overhype they are the ones that historically have the highest ratings most weekends). ESPN this last weekend just put 3 SEC games in every available window on ESPN and put Texas on ABC in the 230 window. The only other teams were Clemson at the noon window and Notre Dame in prime time. ESPN this upcoming weekend is a similar story. UT/OU on ABC at noon, FSU at 230, ND in prime time; SEC on ESPN noon and prime windows with a ranked UNC covering the 230. Take away the ND away games and the the ACC gets about 1.5 games a week on ABC/ESPN and that’s with some bigger schools like FSU/Clemson. Maybe with Colorado/Prime the new Big 12 can have a similar slotting but with FOX having their pick of top games as well, I think they’ll average around 1 game a week on ABC/ESPN not including Thu/Fri games nor late kicks for their Western members.
  14. Should come out tomorrow here: https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/college-football-tv-ratings/
  15. FSU, Clemson, UNC, and UVA are the correct adds. That package would be very beneficial for a myriad of reasons and gets the SEC to a round 20. Anything over that will be dilutive unless there is a shake up in college basketball (which I do see on the not too distant horizon) then schools like Kansas maybe Duke might have a shot but not before then.
  16. OU still hasn’t put the game away.
  17. Don’t know, mostly just NextDoor bullshit speculation. https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/afd-finds-body-while-responding-to-west-austin-grass-fire/
  18. Per NextDoor a body was dumped and burned and they are looking for any doorbell cam footage from around 440am.
  19. Army getting closer to replacing SMU in the American conference. Details below. https://sports.yahoo.com/army-could-be-joining-aac-in-the-coming-weeks-but-a-few-hurdles-remain-175403571.html
