  1. The SEC is actively trying to avoid the appearance of pseudo pods. Texas, aggy, and Arkansas as of the last leak will not all play each other as rivals. The Arkansas/aggy game in Jerry World ends after 2024 and will not be renewed. Neither school really seem to care about the game. The aggy rivals will be Texas, LSU, and some other SEC school East of the Mississippi, most have penciled in MSU.
  2. I actually have a brother in-law that’s a Baylor fan he lives in Colorado so I only have to see him on holidays. Funny enough I’m heading up there tomorrow to eat at Casa Bonita and taking the kids to one of the national parks for a long weekend and I will be watching the game with him on Saturday.
  3. I don’t hate any of them. After this year I won’t think about any of them ever again unless we play in the postseason or something. They are the equivalent of what Colorado and Mizzou have been to us in the last decade. If they collectively were a color they would be beige. Except Rice…they are alright.
  4. Pretty sure Tech and Cincy should be on that bottom line too. They don’t get a pass for going to OT.
  5. LOL Week 3 PAC12 viewership 1. CSU at Colorado 9.3 million 2. SDSU at Oregon St 418K 3. Fresno St at Arizona St 195k 4. ???? This Colorado thing is bonkers.
  6. So if you have Tennessee play both Kentucky and Vanderbilt (which I think is the most valuable game for those schools) then you can’t have UK/Vandy play in keeping with the model where the SEC looks to be intentionally trying to avoid making pseudo pods. They could have made Texas, Arkansas, aggy, Oklahoma all play each other but instead the model went out of the way to have them mix in others so that they don’t all play the same teams. In fact OU, aggy, and Arkansas don’t play each other at all as rivals but they still have these local games on their every other year schedule mixing in some regionality.
  7. These would be my changes to the model that was floated. Missouri: Oklahoma, Arkansas, South Carolina Arkansas: Missouri, Texas, Ole Miss Texas A&M: LSU, Texas, Mississippi State Texas: Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Arkansas Oklahoma: Texas, Missouri, Florida LSU: Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Alabama Ole Miss: Mississippi State, LSU, Arkansas Mississippi State: Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt Alabama: Auburn, Tennessee, LSU Auburn: Alabama, Georgia, Vanderbilt Vanderbilt: Tennessee, Auburn, Mississippi State Tennessee: Vanderbilt, Alabama, Kentucky Kentucky: Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida Georgia: Auburn, Florida, South Carolina Florida: Georgia, Kentucky, Oklahoma South Carolina: Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri
  8. They already floated the setup with Ross Dellenger. They took the conference winning % over the last 10 years. The top 8 played 2 of the other top 8 and 1 from the bottom 8, the bottom 8 play did the reverse. The only notable oddity was that Tennessee (after having an atrocious decade+) was in the bottom 8 (and at number 13 I might add) so Alabama is yelling about having to play the hardest schedule known to man. A few games might move around but I think this setup is the most likely. Missouri: Oklahoma, Arkansas, Vanderbilt Arkansas: Missouri, Texas, Ole Miss Texas A&M: LSU, Texas, Mississippi State Texas: Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Arkansas Oklahoma: Texas, Missouri, Florida LSU: Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Alabama Ole Miss: Mississippi State, LSU, Arkansas Mississippi State: Ole Miss, Kentucky, Texas A&M Alabama: Auburn, Tennessee, LSU Auburn: Alabama, Georgia, Vanderbilt Vanderbilt: Tennessee, Auburn, Missouri Tennessee: Vanderbilt, Alabama, South Carolina Kentucky: Mississippi State, South Carolina, Georgia Georgia: Auburn, Florida, Kentucky Florida: Georgia, South Carolina, Oklahoma South Carolina: Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky https://www.si.com/college/2023/03/03/sec-football-schedule-dellenger-opponents-for-each-team-new-format
  9. You friggin idiot, everyone know aggy always wins every hypothetical game they’ve ever played. They won 10 straight hypothetical games versus the commies down in Austin…duh.
  10. You’re talking about salary caps like the athletes are getting profit sharing from the school. That is a completely different area than NIL. NIL is going to work the same way it does at the pro level. The QB of the Dallas Cowboys typically makes more money than the QB of most other teams just by being the QB of Dallas. QBs of other teams if they a really good can’t make great money too, nothing prevents this, it’s free market. Texas, by being the only blueblood of the largest football crazy state that is also in a major metro that is also surrounded by 3 other major metros has far more potential than any other team to take advantage of NIL. The closest #2 is likely USC (larger state/metro but not as invested in cfb in general) Feel free not to contribute to NIL but it absolutely has nothing to do with TV dollars.
  11. You’re overstating it. Tech, TCU, Baylor don’t prepare for Texas all the time where they lose games, that’s dumb. They DO design their base offensive and defensive identity around what Texas is doing to give themselves the best chance at winning. We’ve seen this multiple times. Texas easily beats Tech, they change their coordinators and schemes, going into the game they look fairly average but their schemes match up well and their players (knowing they are on the big stage) play the best games of their careers and they occasionally pull of the upset. Two weeks later they get crushed by OU 70-10. Happens pretty much every year. And yes, I think your insane if you think Tech/Baylor practiced 4 weeks in a row for Wyoming/Texas St and didn’t focus on Texas during their fall camp.
  12. Pass…nothing against the song but I don’t think need need to play a song about a pussy in a stadium where the player’s entrance is compared to a giant uterus.
  13. They are terrible…we should win convincingly.
  14. Unpopular take, but I enjoyed Holtz on college football final. It didn’t take itself too seriously, had some dumb segments but some ended up being pretty solid. Now it’s just highlights, which might as well just be sportscenter.
  15. He takes himself too seriously and wants to be a “professional”. It’s going to be McAfee, they already have him sitting in Corso’s spot when he’s off stage.
  16. I was going to say 2002 but yeah not sure.
  17. Bring back the Minotaurs!
  18. Makes too much sense not to happen, wonder if they’ll stand pat at 13 in basketball or if they’ll add another non fb team (VCU?) or kick Wichita St to the curb.

  20. aggy was celebrating TAMU-Commerce’s Division II football national championship and brought in newly hired Jimbo and presented him this trophy (the same type that was being presented to Commerce) and proclaimed that aggy would win one soon While the whole stunt it stupid, it still pisses me off every time I think about aggy trying to steal the spotlight from their own school that ACTUALLY WON A TITLE to brag about how Jimbo would win something in the future. Seriously fuck them.

  22. Agree, the Big 12 will be fine. Games by conference week 1&2: >2million/>1million New Big 12(16): 6/3 (inflated a bit due to Colorado, but credit where credit is due) New ACC (17): 7/1 (note the ACC has already held 2 conference games included in these numbers) New SEC (16): 8/2 New B1G (18): 9/5 (note the B1G has already held 3 conference games included in these numbers) Noted conference games because they rank higher than a majority of OOC games.
