Lots of thoughts where this can go. You can have a true super league where the best of Big Ten and SEC split off and form a new league. You can have a partnership model where both leagues remain separate and just negotiate a single post season game together where the winners of their individual conference only playoff play each other. You can have a deal where they basically continue as is but grow and raise the cost of entry until it’s only a few conferences participating at the elite level. They can split off from the NCAA entirely, or just breakaway team sports or revenue sports. It’s hard to tell what the future may bring and there are a lot of lawsuits and TV money that could significantly change what direction the winds may blow. But above it all, getting into the SEC or Big Ten is the safest bet, which is why you’ll continue to see FSU/Clemson and UNC pushing to join.
