  1. Heard him talking about it previously but this seems abrupt…
  2. Sam…Steve… … . … . … . … . . . .
  3. Yep I don’t think it’s really realignment related more…realignment adjacent. Tennessee won’t be kicked out of the SEC because ultimately they are in the right here. This genie is not going back in the bottle. Tennessee was on probation multiple times and Alabama (who did the same under the table shit) never was. They do NOT want to go back to that system which was obviously stacked against them and I don’t blame them one iota.
  4. Name which school they should have been take over? Utah, BYU, TCU, Houston, SMU, Louisville, Cincinnati? These schools all have 50+ years of HISTORY in big time intercollegiate athletics. It’s not academics. Boise is still behind Memphis and Tulane in this category. It’s a club, and these long time schools have been in and/or closely around the major players in this space for decades. They can jump the queue if they are head and shoulders above the competition (like Rice) but ultimately this is a risk adverse group of decision makers who will fall back on what feels safe and sounds familiar. The only ‘recent’ call ups were USF and UCF. USF was called up and then left behind while UCF is yet to justify their inclusion. This was Boise State’s competition not Utah or TCU.
  5. Texags going to be fun to lurk on tonight.
  6. #1 at what again? https://www.espn.com/college-softball/boxscore/_/gameId/401772527
  7. If we go another round of realignment and the ACC gets gobbled up: SEC: FSU, Clemson, UNC, Duke B1G: ND, Miami, GT, UVA B12: Pitt, Louisville, NCSU, VT There is no way Stanford and Cal will hang out with the remainders: Syracuse, Boston College, Wake Forest, SMU And there is no way in hell they’d be able to go independent. They aren’t Notre Dame and wouldn’t have a TV deal nor access to the CFP/major bowls. So their options will be Big 12 or PAC12 or reform an ACC with UConn fb, Memphis, USF, Temple, Rice and…? If they don’t kiss and make up with the Big 12 the PAC12 is their most likely landing spot.
  8. I doubt it. The PAC12’s ultimate goal would be to get Cal and/or Stanford back eventually. There is no way either of those two would ever deign to share a conference with Sac State nor San Jose State. The PAC adding Fresno State is already a hurdle for tree and Berkeley that isn’t helping (both had already accepted that they’d be slumming it with SDSU prior to joining the ACC for their media market).
  9. https://www.betarizona.com/college-football/pac-12-expansion Pac 12 Expansion Candidates: Odds For Next College To Join Conference College Odds Texas State +110 Tulane +225 Memphis +800 UNLV +900 North Texas +1400 UTSA +1600 Sacramento State +2750 The Field +1000 Texas State looks to be the obvious choice here, but still interesting that Tulane is a close #2.
  10. They want more rules so that Texas will abide by those rules like we did previously. Once those limits are in place, Bama and UGA will just spin up the bag game again. Fuck’em
  11. Would have been 12 had 007 kept it in his pants.
  12. No. Go to 9. Don’t be a pussy. This home schedule would be great for those of us who go to games. 26: Ohio St, TX St, UTSA, pig, LSU, SC, Vandy 27: Michigan, NMSU, UTEP, aggy, Bama, OleMiss, Miz 28: LA Tech, UTSA, pig, UGA, TN, UK 29: Notre Dame, ULM, UTEP, aggy, UF, Aub, Miss St
  13. $80 million is probably about right. $50 million is way low. Live sport TV rights still have not plateaued so I’d still take the over. If ESPN truly doesn’t value most OOC games (which is debatable) then $811 million divided by the 8 current conference games would be roughly $101 million. The SEC is under contract so this is still being negotiated without any outside bidders. I assume the price will not be a straight proportional increase since ESPN has most of the control. Would be curious to see the aggregated financials when half the conference loses an annual home game and likely they can pencil in a team or two being removed from bowl eligibility as well. Not to mention the potential cost of not making the CFP cut line by adding that extra loss. Are those negatives offset by the increase with their TV rights?
  14. Doctor says it’s working well enough. Can never be too safe.
  15. Like clockwork…
  16. Southeastern Conference TV Spot, 'More Than Ever' https://www.ispot.tv/ad/ffKq/southeastern-conference-more-than-ever
  17. I think the calculus changed when the Big Ten expanded out West. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/penn-states-james-franklin-says-state-college-airport-limitations-create-travel-issues-for-trip-to-usc/
  18. Most of the 136 teams fly commercial a majority of the time. The biggest teams charter often, and mid level teams may charter for select away games to avoid layovers on commercial flights. This is why Penn State was lobbying for the Big Ten to partially fund a larger runaway in state college (so the other teams can charter their directly). Flying in a ~200 person football program directly to State College requires multiple planes otherwise they have to take a big plane to Pittsburgh and then have to drive 2 hours.
  19. How did the portal not “work” for Ole Miss? In the last 60 years Ole Miss has finished with 10 wins ranked in the top 15 a total of 6 times but half of those (3) have come in the last 4 years under Kiffin. Ole Miss under Kiffin is clearly “working” and they are over preforming per their historical expectations.
  20. And when that fails… Assuming AISD isn’t 100% incompetent and packed full of low performing teachers, achieving performance metrics on a shoe string budget seems unlikely. There was an idea a few years ago to break up the AISD into the surrounding districts. But haven’t heard about that in a while.
  21. Cheap”er” seats for new grads
  22. Was listening to a teacher talk about this last night. If AISD gets taken over by the state and doesn’t improve (because why would it) then what happens? I know right now we’re talking about preventing the takeover, but this honestly seems like a losing battle with the current funding mechanisms.
  23. Yeah we used those years to move around until we found the area/price we liked best. Section 11, above the concourse on the aisle.
  24. My neighbors told me both are better. The lady’s family posted a picture on Facebook yesterday. Haven’t heard about the guy in a few days but last I heard he was also improving.
