  1. I know it’s the ACC’s TV deal with Raycom but lol at Cincy/Pitt on The CW.
  2. Sports media watch still hasn’t updated, but Joel Klatt claimed Nebraska/Colorado was the top rated game of the week.
  3. I think this is a good test case. If these conferences can make more money with only the teams from the P5+Big East that Miss the NCAA tournament, than they currently make from the NIT then that speaks volumes about how the next huge realignment saga may unfold (NCAA tournament better look out). ESPN has NIT rights so they and ACC wouldn’t likely participate unless this gets popular/profitable. I think this may be testing the market. Could totally see FOX/ESPN teaming up on a top 64 FBS+Big East Conference basketball invitational. It would make more sense to have first week tournament games on FOX/ABC/ESPN/FS1/ESPN2/FS2/ESPNU…than CBS/TNT/TBS/Tru Basketball not football.
  4. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/big-12-big-ten-big-east-in-talks-to-participate-in-new-postseason-event-for-teams-not-in-ncaa-tournament/amp/ Testing the waters out with the NIT.
  5. The same Wyoming that ranks 52 out of 56 US States/DC/territories in population only beating out Guam, US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and Northern Mariana Islands. Also the smallest enrollment in the MWC outside of Air Force, they are smaller than every P5 school except Wake Forest.
  6. AQs for the CFP, well they never had an AQ, it goes to the top 6 conference champs, reducing it by 1 now in order to maintain 5 going into the next new contract would be a smart move for the PAC2/MWC and AAC with the power consolidation. As far as the autonomous conference status, the PAC still technically has that unless voted on by the majority of NCAA members/conferences (not sure which), IF it can retain its status as a conference (8 members playing together for 6 years of something like that). Unless they get an exception, which I wouldn’t count on, they would need to add 8 members in the next 2 years that have been playing together for 6 years to keep that status, which leaves only the MWC, SunBelt, or the MAC. If they take the 8 best realignment candidates from the MWC that would leave Wyoming, New Mexico, Nevada, and Hawaii on the outside looking in, but to get the MWC to dissolve peacefully without exit fees the full reverse merger makes the most sense plus it eliminates a postseason tournament AQ spot in non fb sports as well. I still think there is a 50/50 shot the PAC2/MWC can keep their autonomous status. Having representation from a Western based conference that can help represent the general interest of similar conferences (Big Sky, WCC, Big West) is not a bad olive branch to leave in tact plus it also gives a G5(now 6) insight and a voice in decisions with the Power2/Next 2 and allows for a tiebreaker. Still not sure the P2 want to be able to be outvoted by the N2/G6, so that will be an interesting story to follow. Not predicting they’ll lose or keep it either way just saying that both options are realistic.
  7. Creepy bad judgment 100% no doubt but lots of things don’t add up when reading the stories. Still no matter what, hitting on (or phone sex/masturbating to) the sexual violence advocate your school brought in after a major serial sexual assault scandal is just mind bottling…idiotic…that word isn’t even strong enough to justify the absolute rampant stupidity of it all that this scenario encompasses.
  8. Can’t believe you don’t recognize Jade’s chili when you see it.
  9. Post game I think I saw Baxter limping to the locker room with a trainer. Anyone have any injury news on him?
  10. What is their explanation for 1997 and 2010? Fine print says… ”South Division”
  11. I agree with your points but I think UVA has finished in the top ten of the director’s cup 9 times and Kansas has 0. UVA also is a pretty solid baseball school which matters in the SEC. Kansas wins the basketball head to head but UVA isn’t a slouch there either. Both suck at football but UVA draws better both in attendance and with viewership and is in a better state for the SECN, but yes Kansas has more revenue. So Kansas has bball+AD revenue and UVA has basically everything else. I don’t think Kansas is a shoe in. Also I agree UVA/UNC aren’t attached at the hip, but I do think they both end up in a P2 in the next major round of realignment. Kansas likely has lower odds of making the cut.
  12. UVA is far more desired than Kansas (I have nothing against KU and agree they would work fine for all the reasons you listed). My opinion on this is subject to change if the SEC/B1G ever decide to fully breakaway from the NCAAbb tournament and do their own thing, then a school like Kansas could be very valuable. Still even if a 4th team left the ACC always has UConn in its back pocket that could be a quick add plus AAC schools like USF, Memphis, Tulane, Rice, Temple that it could get to leave immediately just like West Virginia did back in 2012.
  13. Yep if we go full on exclusive Power 2 super conferences there is no way the flagships of NC/VA are left out. However if we keep the Next 2 around (which seems highly likely) they could theoretically remain in the ACC/B12. I just think both P2 conferences have a hard on for UNC/UVA (and add in that neither wants to see them go to their rival conference) that they’ll end up getting in somewhere…eventually. Still I think the SEC is content to stay at 16 for a while and the Big Ten doesn’t want to rock the boat with their TV partners anymore after going to 18 with UO/UW so I think this isn’t worth talking about for at least another 5 years. The only realignment items left are OrSU/WSU > MWC and if the American Conference adds a replacement for SMU (Twitter had a rumor that they we’re trying to get Army to join).
  14. Yes, I agree that would stop them from breaking TV contracts, GORs or possibly disbanding the conference, but what’s unknown is whether selling assets or disbursing emergency funds would fall under the same restrictions.
  15. I’ve wondered how much control OSU/WSU actually have. Could the other 10 vote to sell off assets, payout all reserves and dissolve the conference?
  16. I’m not a lawyer, nor have I ever played one on TV, but I’m pretty sure that not knowing who your patient is or MOST importantly their medical history absolutely could have resulted in the patients death or at least some unnecessary pain and suffering. Any two bit attorney could likely make a threatening enough case to get a settlement here. While the doctors likely did the best they could, if they gave the patient any meds they were allergic to, or that had negative side effects when mixed with other medication they were taking, or they did not treat a known condition of the patient when their family was literally calling into the hospital trying to locate them only to be turned away by an administrator… If it makes it past a judge and to a jury you know how it will go. Family crying about not being able to see their loved one before death and possibly even robbed from a chance to save their life, while a hospital administrator hides behind HIPAA and the lawyer pokes holes in their bullshit story that they can’t say whether or not they have a John Doe admitted. That’s likely an easy multimillion dollar verdict which is why they’d likely just settle.
  17. Don’t be a douche. Someone calls in asks if they have any John Does and the hospital does says NO when the answer is YES and then they fucked up. The goal of the hospital, law enforcement, and every government agency WANTS to connect John/Jane Does with their families. The hospital fucked up and is trying to blame HIPAA when all other hospitals have systems in place to facilitate reconnecting lost family members. You ask them privately and everyone would admit they fucked up, but because there is a possible lawsuit incoming.
  18. Yep they just need to move the border to the river. Once Ukraine wins they and Romania just need to roll into Transnistria and end that insurgency.
