  1. Well, it was the front suspension that they completely changed (went from pushrod to pullrod), which actually does seem to be working really well. The rear is still a pullrod like it has been for years. It seems like it may possibly be the interaction/mounting to the gearbox case not being rigid enough (the translation is not the best, but is this why Lewis had a gearbox problem in testing?) and it is also mounted right by where the diffuser throat is, so it’s not something that’s easily changed without totally messing with the floor. There was a rumor that they are bringing a different/modified floor either to Japan or Bahrain. If true, maybe the goal is to smooth out the downforce peakiness to reduce the compliance issue on that extreme end of the spectrum (where it would cause the most plank wear), or just make it where it is designed to be run a little higher? Either way you lose a bit of performance. It says they are also working on suspension tuning with the mechanical bits as well. You can “fix” it with that, but it may throw off your balance completely if it’s too drastic a change, or you just lose performance by having to also mess with the front. Who knows. It’s a very fine balance.
  2. Yes, it seems like it is a rear suspension/compliance issue. It’s a dodgy translation from Italian, but all 3 of Donadoni, Duchessa, and Giuliana are credited as authors here which suggests that they are pretty confident about it. https://autoracer.it/it/ferrari-sf25-fondo-cina-aggiornamenti
  3. Also happened to Leclerc that day, ironically.
  4. It’s crazy to me that a stereo tech said that it’s not worth fixing a 2252b. That’s an heirloom piece, honestly. Is he trying to get you to sell it to him??
  5. Sounds like Ferrari raised the car to avoid potential plank wear issues.
  6. Goodness, the 4K HDR feed from F1TV Premium is absolutely beautiful.
  7. Incredible.
  8. He’s just attempting to steer away the attention from the stupid cursing rules.
  9. It would have been fine without the huge white stripe. But, alas.
  10. If it’s Netflix or even Apple (weren’t they rumored before?), the quality would probably at least be really good (Apple’s Friday Night Baseball is a really nice high bitrate stream).
  11. Interesting. I took this drug (Brentuximab Vedotin) for my cHL (classic Hodgkin’s Lymphoma) as a first-line treatment along with Vinblastine, Dacarbazine, and Adriamycin (the “Red Devil”). It is slowly replacing the decades old version that uses bleomycin (which can fuck up your lungs). There is even already a better cocktail for cHL patients too with even fewer side effects that uses the same 3 drugs plus Nivolumab instead of the BV. Unfortunately for me, BV really fucked my nerves up in my hands and legs/feet. Most people experience peripheral neuropathy of their sensory nerves, but I suffered a lot of motor nerve damage and muscle wasting. I am about 17 months out of treatment now and still not close to normal, but I have made pretty good strides. At my worst, I lost all of my lower leg/calf muscle control and strength and could not even lift my heels up off of the ground at all. I had to use a cane and looked like an 80 year old (I am 36). I can now walk at 3+mph and I’m still improving from there. My hands had the median nerve functions affected quite a bit (which seems odd; the ulnar side was pretty much unaffected). I essentially lost the ability to oppose my thumbs. Luckily, I’m doing pretty good there now. Not perfect by any means, but I can use my hands much better now and write with a pen pretty much normally again. I’m still glad that more people can get help, but it’s just definitely something to watch out for because the neuropathy can ramp up VERY quickly (although my case is pretty rare).
  12. Disclaimer: it’s a cover, but a really good one
  13. Good shit, man!
  14. Scuderia Ferrari, I assume.
  15. I did not replace it with aftermarket yet, no. I believe RCI is good quality stuff though. Also BudBuilt. https://budbuilt.com/Toyota_c_375.html
  16. Lol, I was very confused for a second when I got that email.
  17. The 2UZ will easily go at least 300k, so there’s plenty of life left in it. I’d keep it around.

Also, those are all sub-$800 or so (the Rega P3 without a cart barely makes it). For something a bit nicer, the Rega P3 with a nicer cart, Technics SL100C/1500C/1210GR, or Mofi Studiodeck are great.

There were some posts about this recently, but I guess it’s in the one of the hifi threads. Tl;dr Rega P1/P3 (I don’t really like their semi-proprietary nature with cartridges, though) Fluance RT-85 (the RT line is mostly modular, though, and the differences are mostly the cartridge it comes with and the platter, IIRC) Most of the Audio Technica models (LP120/140 for the SL-1200 direct drive look, but they have some more minimalist looking models as well) Project Debut models. Or, honestly, something vintage. Lots of vintage Technics to be found that are rock solid. SL series are almost all great. I like most old Pioneer tables, as well.
  20. I recently started a replay. I had not played since before 2.0 and PL came out. The 2.0 fixes and PL have cemented this one for me as one of my favorites ever.
