Anyone see this? It looks incredible. Also a range extender option which is what I’ve been clamoring for. I still would not buy a full EV yet, but having a range extender option is great (though details are tbd). https://www.theautopian.com/embargo-630-et-the-hybrid-scout-traveler-suv-and-scout-terra-pickup-look-absolutely-amazing/
This. He races to the apex only and brakes much later than you would on any normal racing lap, just so he can “be ahead” at the apex. He then doesn’t even make the corner, yet the stewards award him by penalizing the other car (or doing nothing if he stays ahead).
Honestly if you want something that’s just going to be super reliable where you don’t ever have to worry about it whatsoever, get one of these or this one if you want a preamp built into it (and a slightly better cartridge). The Grand Class models are even nicer but are quite a jump up (I’ll probably upgrade from my SL-1200 MK2 to a 1200GR or 1300G some day). There is the SL-1200 MK7 too if you want the classic SL look, but it has features you likely don’t need and does not come with a cartridge. If you like the aesthetic of the belt driven tables better, the Rega P3 (though I don’t like that they don’t play as nice with other cartridge brands) and MoFi Studiodeck or Ultradeck are good options in that range. For less than this, the nicer Audio Technica/Fluance/U-Turn and Pro-ject tables aren’t bad. Most of these are belt-driven, but AT does have some direct drive models in there, too.
Cart is def the most important part of it, but you still want a stable platform. I prefer direct drive tables because they’re rock solid and maintenance free.
Some info that I gathered regarding some recent Achilles injuries: Cam Akers - Still playing, and this dude was back at practice in 5(!) months, somehow James Robinson - Signed with the Pats after his injury but wasn’t any good, career is now over J.K. Dobbins - Tore his week 1 last year and is playing well this year so far Tarik Cohen - Tried to come back with the Panthers, but this dude has had many different leg injuries and ultimately didn’t make it back to the league Justice Hill - Still playing Marlon Mack - has torn both with the latest injury occurring last year, career likely over but is currently a free agent as far as I can tell Tre’Davious White - Not a RB but a very good corner who tore his Achilles in week 4 last year and returned to start the season this year Aaron Rodgers and Kirk Cousins are obviously not mobile quarterbacks at all, but they are old (especially Rodgers) and made it back the next season. In the NBA, KD and Klay Thompson also had Achilles ruptures.
Outstanding! Your photos make me yearn again for the trip I took there in July. Your words about visiting the other parks in the West makes me wonder if a dedicated National Park thread might be useful. We have a few specialized ones, mostly on the bigger parks, but all of them except this one and the Big Bend one pretty much fizzle out.
There’s a few good Facebook groups out there with people that repair them and have tons of knowledge. I have a 2215b and a 2245 myself (though I recently moved as well and need to set everything up).
Do you like the UHF app? I have been wanting a better IPTV player. I have been using iPlayTV for years now and it’s alright, but there are definitely things that could be better with it.
Agree that AirPods Pro are the shit. I have never used the regular ones so I can’t comment on those. My mic stopped working on one of them (other side was fine so I just forced it to use that side) on the pair of first gens I had, but I eventually got them replaced for free. This was after I had just decided to buy a pair of Pro 2s, so they just kinda sit there unused now, but the Pro 2 has been an incredible product for me. Music, work meetings/zoom calls, etc etc.
