So, all through undergrad, I called my profs "doctor," and so did everyone else.  I tend to call expert witnesses "doctor" also, which is the only non-personal contact I have with PhDs.

It took some adjustment not to call law school profs doctor.

The whole "Dr. Jill Biden" thing is a scam that works on people who've never met a PhD.

  2. this is great news re: tillman

9 of 10 attacking nats that make the prem don't feature, disappear or get relegated where their form isn't relevant to full international valuation

the list of those that made a sustained impact is short:

    dempsey

    mcbride

    pulisic

    that's it

wegerle had 300+ 1st division / prem appearances with 90+ goals but was born and raised in south africa and came to the us to play college soccer before he became the rowdies' first pick in the last nasl draft - he absolutely does not count as his heritage made him "acceptable" and "playable" in england

john harkes was a chalk nats starter in the 90s; he had some division 1 success....  his prem career: 43 appearances, 2 goals, 3 teams, over 7 years - harkes' claim to fame was as the 3rd us player to play at wembley

lewis - another scratch nat for 6 or 7 years - 2 years at fulham with 2 goals

moore and reyna both had brief flashes in the prem....  very brief

the prem is not a place nats break through and find world-cup form - dempsey, mcbride and pulisic were all 'proven' before they moved to the prem

would love for tillman to stay at psv

  3. cats getting fucked

assume they flew direct to raleigh last night where canes have been sleeping in their own beds for 3 days - no competing fixture in that arena - canes have it to themselves

oil also finished 4 days ago so they have been resting and probably not even in dallas yet - regardless mavs dead so no fixture congestion at the bAArn

I have been rooting for the Leafs to win the east, just to see how the rest of Canada would react to them playing for the first Canadian Cup since 1993.

all of canada except metro yyz would be much happier with ANY cancukian team other than the leafs

prairie province flyover people (who hate the qubecois movement) would choose the habs over the leafs as a canadian representative if one of the western teams was out

only bc would take the leafs over the habs again if all western teams are out

if (god help us it doesn't happen) that oil makes the final the entire country will get behind them with exception of metro yyz

Have the Sharks ever beaten the Stars in a playoff series? I don’t think they have.

Edmonton is damn good, beat us last year and are playing great now. We beat Vegas last year and they looked old this series. I wanted it to go as long as possible.

If Dallas moves on, we will have our hands full with the Oilers. Of the seven teams still playing, I think I might pick the Oilers as the Cup favorite right now. McDavid and Draisaitl are winning a Cup sometime. It’s inevitable.
