  1. The run-pass ratio in this game so far is very un-Sark.
  2. OK D, hoping that was rust on that 1st drive
  3. They just traded for (2) 3B. Bregs is long gone
  4. I’m a Texans fan and that, of course, is a mighty big game, but The Horns will definitely be on the main TV, perhaps w/ Texans game on the iPad in one hand, beer in the other. #Multitasking
  5. 9 please……more if we’re not pussying around
  6. If that’s correct (and I’m not sure it is) then Texas would be in The Orange Bowl and not The Cotton Bowl for the semis or am I missing something?
  7. So Notre Dame the favorite? Doubtful, but I’m guessing they’re factoring in the Georgia QB situation which is an unknown as of right now. Interesting that they think Texas’ path is slightly easier than Penn State’s because I would say the opposite. I think they’re a little too high on Ohio State vs Tenn. And, finally, the fact that they project the lowest odds to the (3) non-SEC/B10 conference champions and SMU tells you all you need to know about the flaws in current CFP seeding whether you like it or not
  8. 2007 Holiday Bowl (Never forget), and feel free to look past Clemson…….. “In the second quarter, ASU's Rudy Carpenter led the Sun Devils to a first down at the Texas 14-yard line. They lost one yard on first down and an incomplete pass set up third and eleven.[25] Carpenter attempted another pass but threw the ball hurriedly in an effort to avoid a sack by Texas linebacker Roddrick Muckelroy. The ball hit the ground and the officials initially threw a flag for intentional grounding; it would later be ruled a backwards pass which becomes a fumble once it hits the ground. The ball continued to bounce towards the Texas sideline with players from both teams in pursuit. The most bizarre event of the game occurred as the ball came close to the sideline.[28][29] The controversial play where Chris Jessee and other Texas personnel were on the field. Chris Jessee, a member of the Longhorns football operations staff and Mack Brown's stepson, stepped onto the field and bent down as if to pick up the bouncing ball. Jessee thought that the ball was an incomplete forward pass and he was making the signal for intentional grounding as he stepped forward. The ball came close to Jessee's hands but it was not clear if he managed to touch it or if it bounced over his hands cleanly.[23][28] Texas' Roy Miller slapped the ball, keeping it in-bounds. Aaron Lewis picked up the ball and advanced it 13 yards to the Arizona State 44-yard line.[29] Replay officials took 12 minutes to review the play.[29] On the video replays, the ball comes very close to Jessee's hands but it does not seem to change speed or trajectory as it goes past them. Despite the video replays providing no conclusive proof that Jessee had actually touched the ball officials ruled that he had made contact.[28][30][31] The ball was declared dead at that point and the officials declared that Jessee had committed illegal interference; they declared an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty assessed against Texas. The ball went back to the Sun Devils and they were awarded half the distance to the goal, giving ASU fourth-and-3 at the 7-yard line.[29][32] On the next play, Carpenter threw a touchdown pass to Chris McGaha to make the score 21–7 Texas.[29]” Source: Wikipedia
  9. Why don’t we use some of that BMD and do a little remodeling. The Georgia Dome will be our house for the foreseeable future after all
  10. I appreciate the scouting, but one thing I’m sure of is I have no concerns about the Texas DEF vs the Arizona State offense should that matchup transpire
  11. And BEVO won’t be invited to any of them. Anarchy
  12. Clemson lost to Georgia 34-3 1st game of the season in ATL at “neutral site”, 33-21 at home to Louisville mid-season, 17-14 at home to South Carolina end of season, and held on to beat SMU in The ACC Championship game. Even factoring in some of the fleas some of us think Texas has (QB, kicker, O-line, play-calling, whatever your beef), Texas should be able to get past Clemson at home
  13. The 6-seed was the place to be in this bracket. 5-seed slightly tougher, but also favorable
  14. By rule, if the 5th ranked conference champion is not ranked in the top 12 they are “automatically” the 12-seed. Goofy for sure in the SMU v Clemson discussion
  15. All of this is of course subject, but for me personally? Nonsense
  16. Really? I would’ve guessed Fiesta Bowl
  17. Absolutely. Conf championship guarantees must eventually go away
  18. Monitoring CFP reveal while also monitoring last-minute NFL injury reports ahead of the final week of the fantasy football season proving to be quite the challenge. Some asshole is bound to leak the CFP bracket online before this ESPN show slow rolls it
  19. Hoping for 5, expecting 6, preparing my anus for 7/8
  20. Additional thought on Quinn Ewers going forward: I suppose the playoff bracket could effect any decision to replace Quinn. For example, if Texas’ first (2) opponents are SMU followed by Arizona State or Boise, Quinn may be granted a longer leash. If it’s Bama/Clemson/other, maybe not so much. And if Quinn performed against SMU, Arizona St/Boise, he may be granted more leash for the semifinal, but I would bet that semifinal leash will be very short. It’s win or go home from here on out, and there are no guarantees you’ll be playing for a championship next year while they absolutely are playing for one now
