  2. closing of the basin has been delayed until may 1, 2026.
  3. really want to see them when they play COTA in november. there are a shit ton of tickets on the secondary market, counting on those tanking in price the weekend of the show.
  4. watched it last night. for such an unserious band, they took themselves very seriously.
  5. was surprised to find live oak, pinthouse, and jester king at a liquor store in boulder, co last week.
  6. don't understand grandmaster at all, thought they were very boring. white boy funk with a cult twist, how original.
  7. was in the pit for this one, holy shit what a show. i'm going to the tampa and ft worth shows as well.
  8. started going here last year after my other vet got bought out. highly recommend for sure.
  9. anyone who went to UT in the early 00's has met at least 5 people who claim to be the reason for the 2 mex mart limit. also knew a guy who claimed he was banned from trudy's for inventing the mexican martini challenge...have 2 at each location in 1 night.
  10. i particularly liked the sign on the APD interrogation room that said "quite please". really gives you the feeling they had the attention to detail to crack the case.
  11. you have to buy a ticket to drink at the inside bar now? wtf. the last couple times i've been to a concert at scoot the volume has been waaaay too quiet.
  12. was listening to this in 1996, i think that's more than 15 years ago.
  13. the real ale ipa sampler is $12.99 at total wine and costco. hard to beat.
  14. just read about how their bassist was an AIDS denier in the early 2000's and they played an anti-AIDS benefit. weird. doesn't change my opinion on their music but it's funny in the same way that the deftones' guitarist being a flat earther is funny. Responding to coverage of the Alive & Well benefit in Mother Jones magazine, Mendel wrote, "I am not a medical professional, and I am relatively new to these questions, but I am convinced that those who have tested HIV positive and those sick with AIDS are being done a disservice by not having all the information available to them."[21] Links and references to Alive & Well were removed from the band's website by March 2003.[22]

    BBQ

had it a couple months ago, it was good. the duck and brisket were the standouts.
  16. as a NIN fan, very happy with this. ilan is a great drummer but the freese era of live NIN was always my favorite.
  17. looking forward to seeing them at levitation next month, but was sad to see david sitek isn't touring with them.

    Ozzy has passed.

saw ozzy described as "the frank sinatra of metal" and thought that was a good comparison. iconic voice, never wrote a song.
  19. new NIN single released a couple weeks ago. tron soundtrack will be NIN as opposed to the usual trent/atticus score. seeing them live a few times in september.
  20. got a couple in the 100 level for SA. saw him 2012 in houston and 2019 in arlington. both were great.

    Vinyl

was in dallas last weekend and stopped by good records. the used selection was pretty sparse but i did find spiritualized- pure phase. they had an interesting selection of new records but they were on the pricier side, $30-$40 generally. it was actually a little too organized for me, every single artist had their own section...i prefer to do some digging.

    Ozzy has passed.

i celebrate his entire catalogue. i've even come around on those solo albums. read his book earlier this year and was surprised to learn that he didn't write any of the sabbath lyrics.

    Burgers

the bill's oyster $10 happy hour burger is legit. it was almost more of a patty melt, and it was extremely delicious.
  25. being dead at hotel vegas last night. i love the band, but that was terrible. whoever was running sound should be fired immediately. there were constant problems with feedback throughout the entire set. the band pleaded between every song but it was never resolved. you could tell they were not happy. it was also a strange crowd, there were a bunch of people there (saw britt daniel walkiing around) but nobody seemed to care about the band. pretty much the opposite of when i saw the night beats last week...smaller crowd but everyone was into it. being dead is great and i feel bad for them.
