  1. Recap: we never found a surface lot so we ended up parking in the garage. We went to the roof (Level 6) and were the only ones up there. We didn't grill but were able to have chairs and hang pre-game. It turns out other groups were doing the same thing on other levels of the garage so I guess enforcement is minimal. There was also a group on the roof (Level 5) that watched the game up there. There were canopied tailgating groups along the 3rd baseline fence who also were grilling so I guess there is a way to reserve spots. Of course, the Left Field group was also grilling and watching the game. Thanks for the tips and the offer of the parking permit.
  2. I was trying so hard to make sure I got Disch correct that I missed Falk. Thanks for the advice. I called the Texas Ticket Office and they confirmed that tailgating isn't allowed in the garage. He told me to park in Lot 114 and said it did not require a parking pass. I hope that's true. We'll have probably 8 cars and 20 people so if all goes haywire at least we've got the Block Party.
  3. Lurker here. I tried to find something in older threads but no luck. I have a group going to the game Saturday and we want to tailgate before. It looks like the only place to buy parking is the parking garage and that's the only place I've parked for other games. I don't remember if tailgating is allowed (other than Occupy Left Field). Are there other lots a group of us can park and tailgate or is it ok to do it in the parking garage?
  4. Hayes Carll on Saturday. 5. I used it in San Diego. Worked great but you need to read through the details of pickup/dropoff as each car owner has different demands and some charge for pickup/dropoff. Our driver picked us up at the airport and we took him to his office which wasn't too bad. A friend went to Denver where the driver dropped off the car at the airport and his wife picked him up. Very nice. Can be cheap and easy if you do your research. Read the comments for each car before pulling the trigger.
  6. We just did this trip from Austin and stayed in an airbnb in the Heights. It's a cheap Uber ride from there anywhere and there are some cool bars and breakfast places in the neighborhood. Plus, free parking vs. hotel parking surcharges. We had breakfast at the Onion Creek cafe but there are lots of choices on White Oak Dr. Downtown by the ballpark is good before/after games but mornings and evenings seemed kind of dead.
  7. yonder.tv is smart dns that gets around blackout rules. It's not easy to configure on firetv but you can set it up on your router very easily if you have admin access to your router.

  9. Any word on if/when they'll sell electricity permits? That wasn't mentioned but I just looked at the website and it says "The charge covers an electrical permit and a campground parking permit. Electrical will be primarily 30 amp services. There will be a few 50 amp services."
  10. I have it on good authority that there will be silent generators for electricity. I second Colter Wall. Saw JD McPherson at Scoot Inn and he was great. War and Treaty is also supposed to be a great live show. You have to see Billy Strings play, too. Amazing.
