  1. This is a good point. Girls start sports similar to boys in the "is everyone having fun" stage but at some point it switches for boys for a dominance hierarchy, which is in the male DNA IMO.(and yes dads are a big part of that). the "is everyone having fun stage" seems to continue to be ingrained for girls no matter how old. I think some of this is trying to keep girls interested in staying in the game because many who probably could have been damn good athletes start to wander as the parents don't hound them like they would a boy. I think that is why you see a bigger drop off in women's college sports after the top 10 teams in a sport. The difference between the #1 player and the #200 player is massive. again IMO. I'm not saying girls need to be coddled/make it about fun, it is just the way it happens to work out, given our history.
  2. I was shocked the way they went after Tkachuk. one guy holding him a good while and another guy throwing haymakers at him. Even for hockey that is way over the line. I hope FLA is beating their ass in the cup clinching game and they decide to go full Slap Shot on EDM in the 3rd period. Someone needs to "Goodnight" Nurse with a flying forearm to the head.
  3. Can we get another shot of Skip Bertman please? there aren't enough of them.
  4. worked against the Stars but FLA is too good.
  5. I mean, that is Edmonton just trying to hurt players.
  6. Edmonton is a bunch of bitch pussies. I hope FLA slaughters them in 5.
  7. It's amazing how long we held on to Taveras...
  8. I'm good with Ark taking out LSU in the first game. Ben McDonald getting to call every LSU game is just nauseating. the earlier they are out the better.
  9. Florida knows how to go after the Edmonton duo. they aren't scared to unlike some other team recently.
  10. justice....
  11. that's kind of horseshit...if it was in the 2nd inning I bet it is upheld. both of his feet were outside the path.
  12. that guy is trying to get his leg. he is inside the base path. old school that is a good play, new school that is interference.
  13. oh my gosh. what was up with the throw from the SS? Flores like...throw the damn ball.
  14. wow. that was meat and he missed.
  15. Lets go Racers. They were always a sleeper first round March Madness upset pick.
  16. ha. NHL gonna have to pull some shit to get McDavid and Canada their cup. pressing the zone doesn't work against the Panthers. they are too good.
  17. Here is the score of the Borg 1974 French final against Manuel Orantes. talk about turning it on... 2–6, 6–7(4–7), 6–0, 6–1, 6–1
  18. so in the open era(47 years) only 9 players have come from 2 sets down to win a grand slam. 5 have happened since 2020(Thiem, Sinner, Alcaraz, Nadal, Joker). before that there were only 4, all at French. 2004 Gaudio 1999 Agassi 1984 Lendl 1974 Borg 6 of the 9 have been at the French. basically you have a 5% chance of winning down 2 sets.
  19. I don't think anyone is disagreeing with you(mainly because fuck Gasso and OU) just saying that Bahl counts as HS pitcher that was good under her since Parker but Bahl was Bahl, I don't think Gasso did anything to really develop her. That said, to your point, unless she gets another Bahl she's gonna go get the surest thing from the portal until the shine potentially wears off(one can hope).
  20. I know Bahl left but wouldn't she count? I will leave it up to you on if she developed. I thought she got a championship and wanted to play for Nebraska.
  21. .910? yikes.
  22. I'm just saying he is a wildcard because he is going to miss development time playing football so who knows how he progresses. That said, he's obviously shown enough that he has a good chance to start in the OF regularly assuming we don't have someone better.
  23. 8-10 position players? or are you including pitchers? I'm assuming Max, Galvan are gone.
  24. agree. Borba at least didn't seem like he wilted down the stretch, finished at .278, walks a decent amount as well, OBP of .437 and he's got some pop(slugged .574). I think he's got a DH spot if he wants it and can play spot first. hilariously, as slow as he is, he had 4 triples. 4 of 8 instead of 4 of 9.
  25. yes, agree on Arod thats why I said he should probably lockdown one of the OF positions. aware of Mendoza, he's likely good.
