  1. maybe the intertrons got caught in a grapevine effect and this whole "Sarkisian" thing was actually a "Sherrone" thing.
  2. If we can get Freeman to head to the Giants the bidding war for Cignetti is gonna be nuts. Jimmy Sexton will own college football.
  3. Cignetti to the white courtesy phone...
  4. graduate transfer? well damn, there is the problem, motherfucker was playin' too much school...
  5. the point of having an OL coach is to recruit OL and develop them. I don't expect them to be a rolling ball of butcher knives every year but what we had was a complete failure, quite literally an "F". if you are gonna get paid that much you need to come with a lot more than an F. add to this year, some past running game failures and I think you have to look elsewhere. The OL is the key to just about any football team. a portal is a gap fill and at OL it is going to be really hard to plug and play easily, even if you can find one. I'm not absolving Sark of his responsibility, which is to make sure his OL coach(and other coaches for that matter) is doing his job.
  6. If Sark doesn't fire Flood after rolling that OL out in year 5, he ain't interested it getting better. huge red flag.
  7. actually it is 42.
  8. Very similar to tough OOC games
  9. All this could have been avoided if the committee had just put the team with the obvious best resume, according to their own rules, in the 10th place.
  10. meh, a double digit win against a playoff team isn't really a big deal.
  11. comparable team means # of losses.
  12. why didn't NBCSports show ND's win over the best team they played over and over again? of NBC could have run it in primetime.
  13. losing that cardinals game at home was ridiculous. they fucking suck.
  14. ha ha.
  15. ah, the loss column barrier is so sweet....
  16. how do you miss that call..it's right in the hole.
  17. Also a 6th SEC team(taking 5 of the 7 at large spots) with no ACC would have been "FSU lawsuit!" territory....our resume is obviously better than Miami's but whatever...
  18. unless you beat a "better than advertised" fantastic 5-6 Auburn team in a classic down to wire the iron bowl rivalry game by the grace of some SEC ref fuckery. then you get full credit!
  19. I think it will happen at some point(regular season) for one of the at large bids and it will likely be an SEC team or ND. (4) 7-1 in conference teams from the SEC drug the floor up a bit, IMO.
  20. ha. App State got the "oh you are not sure about accepting our offer, well I've got Temple on the other line right now, you sure?"
  21. this. Im not sure how it is a Cash Bonanza!tm Can it make the overall SEC TV package be worth more? Sure, but I think it is on the margins. The actual game revenue to Texas is minimal. Dodds used to say that the 2 teams we want relationships with are ND and OU. That time is gone. The time is now to force ND to a conference.
  22. sir, I must protest, we/Texas have an alternate goal - To make out schedule be "good for college football!"
  23. No one wants it ignored entirely. it was on the road to what was eventually the #2 in the country. the Georgia away loss, given their SOS, would probably be lower. the final SOS, their final FPI, and location of the team you lose to should matter. Let's take Miami, they lost to UL at home and SMU on the road. Texas had 3 losses, all on the road to SOS/FPI - (28/2), (18/6), (2/36) UL - (53/29) home SMU - (66/24) away Miami had one top 10 win, ND at home Texas had 2 top 10, one neutral and one home to 2 teams that were better than ND(based on final ranking). that said Miami's FPI is 7, Texas is 13. Miami's SOS is 45 and Texas is 7. If computers rank Miami over Texas then the only thing I can gather is that the number in the loss column is weighted very very heavily and there is little weight to wins, and more importantly very good wins. The computers aren't the full answer but the committee actively ignores them pretty much across the board for eye test/loss column and that is how you get stupid explanations about how Bama's escape at 5-6 Auburn was so gosh darn awesome.
  24. sure, those guys don't want to lose their vote for 10 years. either way, 100 humans is better than 13 that REALLY have a vested interest on who makes it.
