  1. yeah something like that is for sure worth a gamble, cool guitar
  2. grok just telling every black person that they have sickle cell
  3. Oh god I hadn’t thought about their political careers, keep them in prison. Although I suppose they’ll hardly be the most morally bankrupt.
  4. To be fair to the Menendez bros Sopranos S101 hadn’t even aired yet.
  5. 6th Street posters listened to Musk and made very serious faces while they took his very serious promises and projections very seriously.
  6. It is bananas to hear Trump talk if you haven’t listened to Trump talk in a while. Goddamn. Crazy there are people on this site either saying yep to that or doing the mental work to convince themselves that when they pull the lever for that they haven’t completely abandoned all of their values.
  7. While they are having one of their best games in years lol This is a house of learned doctors so we’ve all been familiar with podcasts since at least Serial. It takes longer for republicans to adapt to this shit, and talk radio has always been their domain.
  8. I just remembered how much I enjoyed this movie indie slasher comedy
  9. Well I think I lost the game by choosing Bateman over Shakir, although really it was looking good until Moore had a bad game and Swift had a good one. I still have a chance if the 49ers defense gets annihilated, so go Cowboys.
  10. The incel sebastian who wants to fuck Ariel but doesn’t know if he has a dick bit from that show may be the hardest I’ve laughed.
  11. There’s one of these in town and I see it every time it goes by. Because it is fucking sexy. is anyone making an electric minivan yet?
  12. I mean I know almost nothing about the menendez bros, haven’t watched the series, agree that someone like say Charles Manson has shown no remorse and is still a danger after however many years, but you’re saying they don’t strike you as people with remorse based on information from before or immediately after the crimes. It’s been 30 years. and if my kids kill both of us it’s probably my wife’s fault
  13. we need some surly guitar lawyer to draw up the documents for the tontine
  14. I was just thinking through the idea of justness for murder and kinda... would I rather be murdered or spend ages 20-50 in prison, what is just for the victims, and it occurs to me that if my children murder me I want them tried as juveniles and their records expunged.
  15. So the Elon stan is like the third guy in a human centipede with Putin up front smiling and eating cuttlefish.
  16. Well I think it was pretty clearly just to incarcerate them, it’s just been long enough. And also we should let out all of the people incarcerated unjustly rather than just the most egregious cases. I know that’s obvious and different than what you’re saying and I’m not picking on you but people mistake fairness for justice and it’s how a lot of people justify their unjust or straight up evil value systems.
  17. Just based on the fact that they went to prison when I was a little kid and I am now firmly middle aged, if they are no longer a danger to society let them out. I was going to say let Leslie Van Houten out too but I guess they already did.
  18. i'd love to be able to pick up on this shit. again not expecting that i'll learn that by watching Blinded by the Light but even without the right context I can tell that there are interesting politics at work
  19. I mean go sick buying office and all that, but docs.google.com, file->print, set printer/destination to "Save to PDF". Worked for me.
  20. yeah, not expecting movies and tv to get me there or for me to even ever be culturally fluent around the subcontinent
  21. Ohhhh yeah I remember reading about this, thank you
  22. I started a new job in September where I work closely with several teams based in India - Pune, specifically. And there are quite a number of Indians in the organization stateside as well. I'm getting the hang of the accents, the early mornings, the head bobble, etc, but I would like to work on understanding more about India, Indians, American-Indians, their culture, etc. And a low impact way in which I would like to start doing that is watching movies and tv shows and shit like that. I've seen Slumdog Millionaire and the Diwali episode of The Office and I'm realizing that that may be about the extent of it. Probably The Big Sick doesn't count because he's Pakistani and that has absolutely nothing to do with being 2nd generation or anything like that. I know there's that Bruce Springsteen movie, maybe I'll watch that, or some seasons of Indian Matchmaking. Gandhi sounds grueling but I suppose I could try. I don't think I quite want to dive into Bollywood. Any media I could dunk my head into that is enjoyable and would give me some nice context for the culture?
