I call bull on that one. He'd be more inclined to lower every vote and blast it in attack ads to gain voters from the left. It'd drastically reduce home values to force the City to reevaluate their budgets and trim a bunch of fat. Overvaluing home appraisals is too much of a gift to the city coffers for him to consider such things.
Which part? West of 360 heading to Bee Cave has been pretty consistent as long as I can remember, as long as no one gets in a wreck along Bee Cave Rd. I no longer commute through the Rollingwood / WLH section of BCR, so can't speak to that.
Been my experience with the light at Courtyard and 360. Put in a 311 ticket, and went back and forth for a while, and they admitted the sensor equipment was malfunctioning and thus it just goes into a default cycle. Then they close it with no further input or estimated time of repair. Might have to put in a few more tickets, but seems like that 360 / Westlake drive one might be Westlake, and thus TxDOT.
Did the construction really fuck the 360 / Westlake drive light? Did the city or TxDOT change that light cycle? My commute has added 10 minutes daily now in the last month. Seems like it's solid traffic SB in the afternoon from the bridge to Westlake Dr, when it used to only back up to the light just north of it.
I'm not worried about half that crap, because the position they're running for doesn't really have that much power. You're not electing a DA or City Councilmember, it's an appraisal board member. And after sitting through a protest process where one of the old fucks fell asleep during the protest, I can't see a way anyone could fuck things up worse than they already are.
I would assume the libertarian would be most likely to reduce the tax burden for the TC property owner. Take into account they are sitting on the appraisal district board. The current regime has been very aligned with the TC voterbase, and has been a freaking disaster for years now. I think putting 3 conservatives in there to shake the tree would be a brilliant change in the status quo. But then again, that'd require the average voter to understand what they're actually voting for rather than just a D or R.
Same as Russian Ransomware employees. Same as thieves. When your livelihood is doing knowingly illegal and malicious activities, you can go F yourself.
I'm kinda with aggy on this. Let's swap the aggy game to early October, and move the Red River Shootout to Late November (and move the State Fair while we're at it). I think that's a MUCH better end of season game to look forward to, rather than a bunch of fake army gloryhole goons.
Holy F*%$ this. Asshat in an Audi doing 5 under playing the Blue Monday kick drum on his brake pedal on the way in this morning. Pull up next to him, and he's buried in his iPhone probably looking at realtor porn and questioning his life decisions.
This is great, except for 80% of the population that lives on the creek arms of the lake. Dredging the lake deeper and lowering the full level just stripped away a shit-ton of waterfront properties that are still technically in a flood plain so they can't be developed. And deeper does not equal wider, so you've compressed the surface area of the lake which means less room for surf boats and larger motor yachts to generate giant wakes. And not to mention you've basically wiped out the upstream lake usage between Marble Falls dam and the usable Travis basin.
What was the outcome of the carjacker? Did they bleed out, too? I thought for sure when he took off in reverse it was just stuck in gear and the dude was dead at the wheel.
Someone needs to go back to page one and reread. The amount of work vs the result is not worth it. And it's not the lack of storage space that's the problem, it's the lack of water and the incessant need for LCRA to generate Hydro.
Would be a great time to be in the artificial turf industry. The amount of water most of TC pisses away at irrigation is mind-bottling. Hopefully the downstream reservoir comes online and is able to mitigate some of the pain, but those rice goons down stream can suck it! The amount of irreversible damage to lawns, foundations, streets, sidewalks, trees, etc. is about to eclipse their precious rice crop losses exponentially.
You're kidding, right? This is a joke... Every time you turn on the news, you have someone from the CC giving their opinion on something stupid that happened today. Vanessa Fuentes attention whoring all over twitter with her mini-mic. Hell, I'm seeing more social media interaction from the silent CMs like baby Alter and Paige Ellis.
Watson has done a good job of stirring the cesspool, but he really doesn't have the power to move the needle around here. The council firing Cronk was the big shitstorm that eclipsed all else. Detracted from the APD contract, what should have been the firing of the head of Austin Energy...
Wait, they count regular season and tourney championships separately? So winning out in Soccer counts twice as much than an SEC championship in football or volleyball? Forgive my ignorance here...
