  1. Honestly, college coaches deserve more. They are the coach, the GM, have to kiss boosters' asses, have to kiss players' asses, have to kiss players' parents' asses, have to keep kids in class/eligible and now they have to recruit their entire roster every single year. 365 days a year they do this. NFL coaches just coach and weigh in on personnel decisions. That's it.
  2. I originally thought Norvell was out with his tweet yesterday about the future at FSU. But apparently that was about a recruit, so he's probably still very much in play.
  3. Stewart Mandel kept pumping this as a must read article, so I read it. What a nothingburger. Dumb anyway that on air personalities wouldn't receive an Emmy as part of the team if the show won. If they faked one to give it to an inspirational guy in the mail room, this would be a feel good story.
  4. Lanning out. Sark out. Kiffin probably not in the picture. Dabo lost his luster. If they don't get Norvell or Deboer, there's a big dropoff in name recognition.
  5. Possibly. But if you follow anything that goes on in that city, it’s more believable that they 1) are just really shitty about doing their job and 2) don’t give a fuck about doing their job, than it is to believe they are involved in a big coverup. Like discussed in the original thread, this guy was on PCP and meth and crossing an interstate at night. It’s not surprising that he got hit. He clearly wasn’t unidentified. They knew who he was and where he was buried. They just didn’t bother making an effort to let the family know.
  6. The accusations to date are that they just didn't put out any effort to find out who these people were, contact the relatives, bury them with any dignity, etc. That's dropping the ball to me.
  7. I heard when @Homercles needs a new set of tires, he just rents a car from Avis, trades out the tires with his and returns the rental.
  8. Correct, this started with Dexter Wade. There was a thread on it. Linked below. People should not be shocked that a city and county that 1) can't provide clean drinking water, 2) is the murder capital of the US, 3) can't answer 911 calls, 4) can't pick up trash regularly, 5) can't provide ballots on voting day, 6) doesn't pay its bills....... Would drop the ball on something like this.
  9. When I think of cities in those states, in Alabama, Birmingham (Metro) and Huntsville have grown and improved over the past 25 years. Plus Alabama has a nice coast with Fairhope, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach etc. The real start of the Redneck Riviera. Mobile has gotten shittier IMO, but the two big college towns, Tuscaloosa and Auburn, have grown a lot. Mississippi has no real attractive places to live for professionals. Oxford is nice and charming, but that's like 25k people. Jackson is one of the worst cities in the US. The coast is nicer than you'd think but not much of a beach attraction. IMO, everywhere in Louisiana has gotten shitier. NOLA. Baton Rouge. Shreveport. So, Alabama >>>> Mississippi and Louisiana.
  10. Irritated about the Peacock game. Don't want to sign up for $5.99/month. Yet, I paid $30 for a month of Flosports (twice!) to watch the worst college baseball production in history. But its a great matchup on a Saturday night and my kids will kill me if I don't.
  11. Saw it today. Didn’t read the book. Very much enjoyed the movie. Had a Cinderella Man feel to it.
  12. I know its probably in here at least 3 times, but IDGAF. Too good to not rehash every once in a while.
  13. https://pcpsr.org/en/node/961 Poll conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research. Hamas’ decision to launch the October the 7th offensive: We asked respondents to speculate about Hamas’ reasons for waging its October the 7th offensive: a response to attacks on al Aqsa and to release prisoners as Hamas claimed or an Iranian plot to thwart Arab normalization with Israel. The overwhelming majority (81%; 89% in the West Bank and 69% in the Gaza Strip) said it was a “response to settler attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque and on Palestinian citizens and for the release of prisoners from Israeli prisons;” while only 14% (5% in the West Bank and 27% in the Gaza Strip) thought it was an Iranian plot. We asked the respondents what they thought of Hamas’ decision to launch the October the 7th offensive given its outcome so far, a vast majority (72%; 82% in the West Bank and 57% in the Gaza Strip) said it was a correct decision and 22% (12% in the West Bank and 37% in the Gaza Strip) said it was incorrect.
