  1. Never had to learn / get her license...always lived in the bay or on the east coast.
  2. Since Google keeps screwing up Google Finance page making it completely not usable. What do you all use to quickly check the markets?
  3. This is the rub. We have lived in SF for a longtime and not expecting SF walkable but at least where she feels safe to wander around to 1 place or bike to a few. I think Hyde Park is walkable / bikeable and that would be good enough vs downtown where you have a lot of options. Crestview, et al felt that you wouldn't even want to walk around the neighborhood except to walk the dog. I'd feel safe having her bike through Hyde Park to the grocery store but don't see that possible in many other areas. Maybe east Austin or North Loop / Rosedale?
  4. FT works 80% of time with me but haven't tried sunglasses or altering my look. I have the X and think it is way more glitch-y than my 6S. I have a 2 yr old ipad mini that I hate given all its issues. I use it to read / watch netflix in bed but don't think there are any good tablets in the market. My first gen iPad lasted 4+ yrs without issue.
  5. We drove around this area and didn't love it. It was very suburbia. I am willing to pay more to be closer to downtown / walkable neighborhoods as the significant other doesn't drive. It will result in longer commute for me but important she can get around not just via Lyft. Did we not go the right area?
  6. I met the “founder” of mezcal close to 3ish years ago in Central America when I threw out his drink on nye complaining it wasn’t tequila. Fucker was right that consumers don’t care but don’t sell me swill
  7. Hear all the Crestview and Allandale and leaning towards this area. Any thoughts on the above as I may be going to airport a lot and the thought of buying where the neighborhood is still changing interests me from an investment standpoint. Could create a side project and buy another house for rental if I went this direction due to cost.
  8. The drive to work would kill me. Looking on the north side as I assume north of Campus is my best bet near Mopac.
  9. After 10+ years of not living in Texas, I am moving back to Austin. Where should I live? Work will be around Mopac and 183 but likely will be going to the airport often. Married with no kids or any planned. Strongly prefer a house instead of condo. Assume will need to spend $400K - $700k but don't need a big house as location is more important.
  10. Never registered but figured I would stop lurking here.
