  1. Excellent info. Thanks! What about putting any sort of corn or mineral/attractant on the ground? It's been suggested to us to put some where we want the game to stop, right in a shooting lane.
  2. Oops, didn't mean for the pictures to be so large.
  3. My son (10 yrs old) is going to try to stick a deer (or pig) with an arrow this season. Neither of us have ever bow hunted. We went out this weekend (Austin County) and brushed in a pop-up ground blind near the intersection of 2 game trails that is also near a corner of a food plot we hunt annually. Our cameras near the location catch the traffic often. We have hunted this plot with a rifle and have seen many deer enter and exit the field from this corner. So we feel decent about that. We cut shooting lanes and practiced shots through the blind windows between 7 and 15 yards. For those of you that bow hunt from pop-up/ground blinds - Do you wear camo or black? I'm assuming we need to wear black and black out our faces since the inside of the blind is black. I figure we open as few windows as possible so we don't get back lit. The blind has shoot-through mesh on the windows, but I'm not sure if we should leave those up since he's shooting low poundage (~35 lbs) draw weight. Most of our hunts will be evening hunts due to sports and church commitments on weekend mornings. How long before sunset do you guys get in the blind? Any thoughts? Suggestions?
  4. And out in the middle of the street in broad daylight.
  5. Almost a bomb. Congrats to Payton! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Another good start by Cristian Javier. He appears to be getting more comfortable with his stuff and game plans.
  7. That sucks but if he signed a contract, then what recourse does he have? Private schools have spent a lot of money getting ready for COVID protocols and virtual learning options. He should have gotten out while he could if he wanted his money back. And the school should probably be more reasonable, but we don't know exactly how that conversation went.
  8. God bless Framber Valdez. Keep it going, Ted.
  9. Oh yeah. The worry that kids spread to adults. Yeah, that's not happening either. Certainly. Per this article - https://www.wsj.com/articles/why-its-mostly-safe-to-reopen-the-schools-11596812466: In The Netherlands (reopened schools in May with no masks or distancing requirements) – “In a study of 54 families with Covid-19 by the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment, no child under 12 was found to be the “index” patient—that is, the first patient in the family. These results, the institute concluded, “confirm the impression that children do not play a significant role in the transmission of the virus”.” In Iceland (normal fall reopen)– “A similar study by Icelandic researchers across the entire country’s population was published in June in the New England Journal of Medicine, with similar results. Kári Stefánsson, one of the leaders of the research group, said, “We have not found a single instance of a child infecting parents”.” In Germany (reopened schools in May with some size/mask protocols) – ““The dynamics of virus spreading have been overestimated….[and] schools did not become hot spots after reopening,” the university wrote. Reinhard Berner, chief of the department of pediatrics at the university’s hospital, said, “We are going into the summer vacation of 2020 with an immunity status that is no different from that in March 2020,” adding that “children may even act as a brake on infection”.” In France (reopened gradually over May/June w/masks only in high school) – “A study by researchers at Institut Pasteur of students ages 6–11 found that “there was no evidence of onwards transmission from children in the school setting”.” Finland locked down, Sweden did not - “”Finland has not shown children to be contributing much in terms of transmission” to adults, and in Sweden there was “no increased risk for teachers”.” “The totality of the evidence makes clear the compelling case for reopening schools for younger children. “It is extremely difficult to find any instance anywhere in the world…of a child [under 15] transmitting to a teacher in school,” observes Mark Woolhouse, an epidemiologist at the University of Edinburgh. The experience of school reopenings has been positive in countries that started with the youngest children, like the Netherlands, and those that started with the oldest children, like Germany. It has been positive in countries that mandated strict physical distancing in schools, like Denmark, and also in countries that did not, like Sweden. And it has been positive in countries where the pandemic has been as deadly as in the U.S. and also in countries where it has not. The article notes that “The case for reopening high schools, however, is less definitive and requires more caution….And in all age groups, we must still take seriously the risk that teachers and school staff will transmit the coronavirus to each other, as we would in any other workplace or gathering space”.”
  10. 39 kids out of 57,000,000 ages 1-14 in the US have died. Good thing we closed the schools! Hang in there, dudes. My wife teaches and has 3 virtual students and 10 in person. Thankfully, no extra videos. She just teaches as normal and the kids at home better log in and pay attention.
  11. I'm going to wait a while longer to see what else we find out, but that looks bad (by the cop).
  12. Pride goes before the fall. Earl's head hasn't been right in a few years. His biggest influences shouldn't be. I hope he pulls out of it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. My response, though brief, was sincere. Salvation is the work of Christ and is not dependent on anything we do; it is a gift given and not something earned and potentially lost. Therefore, after the moment of salvation, it's locked down. It's over. Jesus sustains us through life on this Earth, but the saving is done. The rest is gravy and the effects of salvation, not the salvation itself. The results of the sanctification process prove the salvation, they are not a part of it and don't earn it. Romans 8. Past tense, including all the way to glorification. It is finished. And I thank God for that. Left to my own efforts, I might not make it!

  15. No. There is no biblical support for the idea of needing to be constantly saved or for salvation's being a process. The Bible talks about working out one's salvation. This sanctification is a process and ongoing but not to be confused with salvation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. It is clear from the video footage that Masai Ujiri was treated poorly by deputy Alan Strickland. It is unclear whether Ujiri's ethnicity or race had anything to do with it.
  17. Great news. May God give you the strength to face each day of your sobriety battle. Jesus saved me over 30 years ago. Daily I am reminded of how thankful I am for that undeserved rescue. I don't know where I'd be without the gifts of His grace and forgiveness.
  18. My kids went in person today. Nothing disastrous to report. They threw their horns up on their own for this pic this morning.
  19. He's been exceptional this season. Way to step up, BB. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Ha! Will do. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. We have mostly avoided fall ball with this crew. 4 spring/summer seasons. We might play some tournaments this fall, but no formal team practices. So pitchers will have to be ready on their own. We'll see. Every kid on the team is playing either football or AAU hoops in the fall. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
