I guess I kinda see it, but why would the cut-out handles be in that spot?Β  Either put then in the middle of the long side, or on the shorter sides.Β  Either way, should be more centered.Β  The oil spillage on the tip IS NOT GREAT, BOB!Β Β

Or maybe it was staged? Β Just spitballin’ here.Β

In a similar stupidity vein, my buddy had to return something to Alaska for some reason and the kid at the UPS store asked him 3 times what country that was in

The back page of New Mexico magazine (from NM tourism department) is always β€œone of our 50 is missing,” and every month there’s a story of someone being asked for a passport to travel to, or from, NM, or similar nonsense.Β

Another thing I love about "Airplane!"Β  Even as a kid, I could tell Leslie had the egg in his hand to make it look like it was coming out of her mouth.Β  But I could never figure out how they got the bird to come out of that little coffee cup.Β  You can tell the Zucker Bros. didn't care about special effects.Β  The plane flying in the dark skies scenes are intentionally shot to look silly.Β  And then when it runs over the disco radio station antenna, it's about as well made as a 1930's Godzilla skyline.Β  But I was always impressed with the bird /csb

1980 middle school NNM was more impressed by this scene (spoilered for boobs):

Ahhh....reminds me of the time my aggy wife used my truck to take an asston( probably 20 or so) of the heavy old style folding tables over to the Buckner foundation.Β  We get 'em loaded and she goes over there the next day.Β  I used two 1" tie downs to keep 'em secured for the trip.Β  She cruises over there and gets 'em unloaded but forgets about the ratchet straps hooked into the side of the bed in the little square holes.Β  Evidently the tail end of the strap was out just far enough to flail around and eventually the rear tire catches it and tries to roll up on it.Β  Tension ensues and the strap stretches and slaps back against the back glass bringing the hook with it.Β  Boom! the glass shatters everywhere.Β  I'm sure it scared the crap out of her at the time.Β  She gets home and texts me to come outside.Β  Immediately, I'm thinking WTF happened?Β  She is about half ass crying as I walk up.Β  At first glance, I really don't notice anything, but then she points it out. Glass is gone, but the one the holes where the tie goes is pulled into an oblong shape and distorted as shit.Β  Yeah, I wanted to be torqued off, but I remind myself she's safe and home.Β  I mean it could've been much worse.Β Β

Moral of the story: No good deed goes unpunished.Β  OR...Β  Never, never let your wife use your truck.Β

That’s completely on you. If there’s a load of tables to be taken, you don’t let your wife do it. Step up to the plate.Β

James Madison is basically twice the size of NDSU (22k students vs. 12k) and is also situated in a highly populated state surrounded by other highly populated states... it's a 2-hour drive to metro D.C., Baltimore, etc.

NDSU is in Fargo surrounded by several low population states. There's only one decent sized city anywhere close (Minneapolis-St. Paul) and it's 3.5 hours away.

It just seems that James Madison may have several built-in advantages, in terms of potential resources and recruiting base, that NDSU just doesn't have.

This is why UNM and NMSU should drop down for football.Β

Something weird and fucky today. Did a 11pm run to airport. I saw no less than 20 cars without their headlights on, or at most only their parking lights on. I flashed a few of the ones ahead of me (same direction) to no avail. Also saw a bunch of cars with only 1 functioning head or tail light.Β

Never seen that much on a single drive.Β

    Β

My theory is because we’re in this weird transition period in which most new cars have auto headlight functions, but most old cars don’t. So people sometimes drive a car that has the function, and sometimes drive a car that doesn’t. They get used to the function in their new car and forget to turn them on in the old.Β

The problem is compounded because many newer cars also have daytime running lights, which means that the parking lights are always on, and sometimes means the headlights are on, but not the tail lights. Β When it gets dark, people see the light in front of them because of the running lights function, and never turn on the full headlights.Β

I am so annoyed by the general type of lazy and stupid bullshit like in today's purple that I noticed it immediately. While I got it quickly, I am now that much closer to quitting Connections because of it

Completely agree. Most days it’s somewhat clever and interesting. Some days, like today, Connections is inane. I got purple by default, and rolled my eyes when I saw the reveal.Β
