  1. Also be aware that Joule Turbo up there is not actually more powerful, it just uses programming to run the heater slightly more when you first add food, trying to prevent the water temp drop from the cold food. It's large a marketing gimmick. All of the sous vide devices are limited by household wall current to 1500w output max.
  2. Buy the cheapest one you find unless you specifically want smart app functions. They're all roughly the same. I actually avoid the super fancy app ones now and prefer KISS with simple temp setting on the device, plug and go. The other thing is I prefer the stick circulators you place in a pot, vs the enclosure models that are their own container (look like a large rice cooker). The circulators you can swap containers to fit your food and can be used and transported easily. If you get serious, modify one of the flat ice chests to be your insulated bath.
  3. Yes, the reason is spite. Firefighters love when they get to do this and will take a bit of pleasure in fucking up the car just a bit more than absolutely necessary. And the Internet loves it too, so win-win.
  4. This has gotta be a humblebrag. There is so much more space for bottles and shit on that shelf.
  5. I still use the amenity bag I got on China Airlines 30yrs ago, so that piece of forever trash has gotten the most responsible lifespan ever. Their more recent ones are such cheap pieces of shit!
  6. Pro Tip: If you had a bidet, that would be enough for 2 large shits.
  7. I've used Alertus before, it does that and a lot more.
  8. I'm referring to Polaris. The off-plane experience is quite nice. New lounges are solid. The on-plane experience is such trash, seats are horrid, service and food are way behind.
  9. Discount tries very hard to match everyone else, if you take a price from somewhere to them, they usually will match it (total, with mount balance tax). And their service is way better than the Costco tire centers I've tried.
  10. Why are you asking dumb questions? You know you won't get a useful answer. Next time just say "that smells like shit."
  11. Merc EQG (electric Gwagen) can tank turn via independent wheel motors. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C17yBnYrK8z/
  12. Yeah, if that Corsair is "done correctly," you're part of the problem.
  13. Drive a GLE/GLS and you'll know quickly if it's a fit for you. I absolutely hate the experience: soft, isolated, way undersprung so you're using bump stops on even small bumps. Digital dash that has visual effects going all over the place, I find them fatiguing to drive esp at night, just never know what is normal visual effects and what is an actual alert/alarm message. My mom loves the isolated floating cloud driving experience and that's why I have experience with them. Burmester sound (stereo) is not bad but should be better.
  14. Wtf, of course you're dreaming about fucking Cameron Diaz. Own that shit!
  15. Yeah, but when I walk in to a Cabela's or Harbor Freight I'm exactly the same, so I can't really fault them for anything.
  16. Wagyu in the US has no real requirements for breeding, so most of the stuff you find labeled as such is some form of hybrid and is "wagyu" at best. I roll my eyes at it. True wagyu is genetically different, the fat has much less saturated fat percentage, and is distinctly healthier for you. Easy way to tell, the fat will be liquid at room temp, while most beef fat is solid. For people whose doctors recommend less beef consumption due to saturated fats, switching to (real) wagyu is a good health move.
  17. I got bit by the Alaska flight groundings due to the door blowout. Arriving from international connection at night to find flight canceled, and they rebooked me one day (same flight, 24hr) later. Waited in 2hr line to get hotel and food voucher. While in line, bought a ticket on SW for early next morning adding one connection. (I had no faith they would actually fly the next day.) While in line I watched SW options fill up and Delta options fill up. There were no flights available on other carriers by the time I got to front of line. Slept for 2.5hrs on the voucher. Gave up a free bag allowance that I had via the intl transfer, paid for additional bag on SW. Eventually got home, 36hr transit time from first flight to arriving at my door, on about 6hrs of total sleep. The flight Alaska tried to rebook me on did eventually fly, but 3hrs delayed. It landed 3am this morning. If I didn't need to be back for work it wouldn't have been bad, I would have just rebooked an additional day out to let things stabilize, and just explored Seattle a bit. Of course my credit card stopped their travel insurance years ago. If this post is incoherent it's because I am exhausted and incoherent.
  18. Its goal is finish the charge when you unplug (bad for batteries to sit fully charged). At night it has learned your usage patterns and knows you aren't going to unplug until you wake up, so it slows the charge so it won't be done until close to your wake time. In the day it assumes you are in a hurry and need to charge quickly, so it charges at full speed (also bad for the battery.)
  19. Other than an extra charger, it's not like the battery takes up any more space. Choose the best tool for your job! I mix 3 brands for that reason.
  20. Forget the brand. Each brand is "best" at different specific tools. DeWalt has the current strongest impact wrench and the best inflator. Milwaukee the best 12v cordless ratchet. Sone brands don't make specific tools at all, like a multi-laser level. Really need to fit your specific needs.
  21. If the guy is married to an American he has a faster track to a green card which would solve the issue easily. Question would be why hasn't he already done it?
