  1. It’s like they don’t ever overland, bro!
  2. Got drunk and rode a pump jack.
  3. Counterpoint: Rangerettes and closer to the Country Tavern
  4. That’s a lotta work with a die grinder and because surly, I’ve seen better at the Spaghetti warehouse.
  5. Quit wearing a watch and ring back in the early 2000’s when I started traveling overseas doing a lot more oil and gas field work. Got a Citizen diver and an Seiko automatic dress watch a few years back, then got a Garmin Instinct Solar gps watch. It will run for 3 weeks + between charges so I wear it pretty much all the time now. I like the text and phone call alerts, HR and health functions, gps tracking to the Garmin app and that I can drop a MOB pin on the watch and chart plotter with a button press. Can also use the watch to trigger an InReach satellite message when out of cell service.
  6. I spent a shit ton of money in Turner’s and at Empire when I worked off 290 in that area. Love those stores.
  7. That’s sucks. I had a primer go off while priming brass and damn near shit my pants, can’t imagine a truckload of the them going. And as a purely selfish note, that’ll kick of the primer hoarding again.
  8. Dad paid $8k for installation of new 5 ton, 14 seer compressor and evaporator unit 5 years ago in East Texas as another data point.
  9. Welcome to the Grand Design family. We have enjoyed the hell out of our Imagine 2800BH.
  10. I’ve created a new acronym based on Fire blogger Sam Dogen’s recent announcement that he has decided to go back to work to save/pay forkids education NMMB2W
  11. Gotta suck when a small shark bite DQs a $3.5mm fish. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12208555/Fishing-team-lose-3-5million-prize-619-pound-blue-marlin-caught-disqualified-competition.html
  12. Took Juneteenth off as we had planned on camping but canceled, so I changed filters and oil in the Ram today. 12 qts of oil into the Cummins, about 12 qts of water into me. Damn it is hot.
  13. If the mouse is in the cab, it could probably live forever on Whataburger drippings Everytime I clean my cab I find dried onion, runaway French fries and shredded lettuce in the floorboard and between the west and console.
  14. Seems like this could be a really valid excuse for some other activities.
  15. Yeah, that works too but I’ve put 7500 miles on the truck since then and would have already needed a new set and Discount credited the one with the hole in it. As an update, I’m 3 years and 10 days in on my Ram 2500. 72K miles with about 10% of that towing our travel trailer and another 3-4K towing our boat or a utility trailer. I’ve taken in the shop once to do a recall and I need to get it back in for the high pressure pump recall but other than that it’s been fuel, oil, filters and tires. Very happy with the purchase. Display MPG reads 20mpg on long trips if I keep it around 70 and dips to 18.5 at 80mph
  16. Hey dumbass, maybe if you’d put a sawblade on there with the chain it wouldn’t jump off so much - roethlisberger.gif
  17. Usually means you just get stucker.
  18. Tell me y’all don’t Metric system without telling me y’all don’t Metric system. This fucking thing is tiny. Less than 1/2” long and a tenth in diameter. My guess is a punch pin from a watch band link changing tool. Lots of shit like that on Amazon.
  19. It’s tough in the park a couple hours after sunup because of the crowds. The only time I’ve caught decent fish was when we would first get there right as it opened for day use and jump in the kayak and hit a few known spots. Dad caught this bass 20+ years ago on my daughters Barbie rod with a little roadrunner. We had just got to the park and we’re setting up chairs and it charged some bait in the shallows. The little spin cast was the only thing with a lure in it and he proceeded to stalk that fish along the shore and out into the middle before it finally ate. I caught one about the same size on the opposite shoreline about an hour later. Most of my garner fish are like these We usually stay at 7 bluffs and I have had good luck above and below the river crossing fishing out of my kayak.
  20. That’s a cheap ball valve. Spend $20 to buy a new one at Home Depot and you’ll be good for another 20years. Go ahead and get some pvc parts too because you’ll probably break one or two pieces taking it apart or putting back together.
  21. Nah just the reel. They leave them at wound everywhere but I wouldn’t put the whole trailer past the dude if they left around him for too long.
  22. If you consider yourself handy, my buddy has been making or converting his blinds to portable ones to drag around different spots on his hunting land with a buggy. Find yourself a $100 trailer. Sometimes they come with a free boat for the pond along with it Add a supporting frame for the floorboards. This one might or might not have held fiber optic cable at one point and was left along the road for a week or so too long Finish your floor and ad some uprights to hold the top Add some sheetmetal around the outside and on the roof. Put in some shooting ports while your at it. Just needs paint. Then make a few more variations
  23. @CoachTex What section did y’all camp? We haven’t been to Garner in 2 years and was taking about a long trip for next year.
  24. Sure. Although we had 4 or 5 dead fish in the live box when we quit a Friday night, we cleaned them real quick and threw the heads and hit back in right where we were fishing. My buddy Sat drinking beer and fishing all day Saturday while I hauled some hay with the tumblebug. He drank way more beers than fish he caught and I stopped by for a bit and he caught a couple of these guys. said he had mainly been catching turtles all day. Next time we’ll bring our Cajun friend and let him make a soft shell sauce picante. Now, to get this thread headed back on track, on Sunday morning, my buddy headed back home and I attended an annual get together at the little local cemetery where 4 generation of my family are buried. I left before the potluck lunch to get back on the hay and after about an hour or so of driving needed a little snack. Prasek’s summer sausage, Colby Jack cheese, jalapeno kettle chips, and a coke knocked back the hunger pretty good. Blue shops towels because I didn’t have anymore Whataburger napkins.
  25. Clapped Out Titties is a great band name for a group of 65yo, punk rock playing, great-grandmothers.
