  1. Wow! I remember watching this with my parents after a Dixie League game (we didn't have LL in my hometown).
  2. FYI. Academy has a 4 burner outdoor gourmet for $199 (normally $299). Seems to have decent reviews as long as it stays seasoned and covered.
  3. So thankful for this program and my daily reprieve. I was presented with a legal scenario a little over a week ago that would have lead me to a drink if it weren't for the program. Instead, I see it as an opportunity to make some amends and right some wrongs of my past. Grateful to be here. It's a good day to have a good day.
  4. Wow, definitely in. Just as good as WandaVision.
  5. Probably belongs in the wives thread, but she’s ex wife now. She managed to drop her keys in that elevator gap at work once. Building maintenance had to go retrieve them.
  6. The 9/11 Memorial and Museum is one of my most memorable visits.
  7. I don't think Happy Endings was on the list either.
  8. I grew up in Carthage. Didn't know Bernie directly, but knew people that went to his church. One guy made a comment onetime that he sat in Bernie's lap when he was dressed as Santa about a week after the murder happened. Danny Buck was also my Mom's divorce attorney (prior to his DA days) when my parents divorced.
  9. For any of you dog lovers. I’d ask you look into an organization called dogs matter. They foster pets while people are in treatment. They’re based in dfw but looking to expand into Austin.
  10. I went to a Big Book study retreat this weekend with my sponsor and sponsor family hosted by my great-great-grand sponsor. There were 96 men there from 7 different states with sobriety ranging everywhere from less than week up to 40 years. A lot of knowledge, experience, and hope was shared throughout the weekend. As someone still early into this, it was eye-opening and I feel like I'm seeing the real AA for the first time. The theme of the weekend was "Above Everything". Ultimately, I have to put my sobriety above everything and the biggest way I can do that is by being of service.
  11. I learned to ignore the gym bros a long time ago. I'll just be working out at my apartment gym, which is usually empty anyway. I've lifted weights in the past, but not since high school, which at this point is 20 years ago.
  12. Any advice on how to ease into this or develop a workout routine? I've done very little weight lifting in my life. Most of my weight is carried in the gut.
  13. Charges dropped. https://www.fox4news.com/news/murder-charges-dropped-against-former-dallas-police-officer
  14. Found this funny, it involves dumbasses.
  15. Yes. Thanks, I started back Monday and haven't weighed anything, just avoided carbs. I started tracking with my fitness pal yesterday and managed to only get in 1,100 calories, but never felt hungry. Percentage wise, it was pretty close to the percentages set in my daily goals. Just for reference I'm 6ft, 300lbs. At my heaviest, I was 350 and had gastric sleeve about 5 years ago and dropped down to around 230 at my lowest. I do still some portion size restrictions when I eat certain things, but I can pretty much eat normal portion sizes.
  16. For you guys doing Keto, are you hard core measuring everything out? I've done it before and I know that it works well for me.
  17. I was talking to a guy that worked at the GM plant in Arlington the other day and he mentioned that this is there biggest holdup is in production. That's why car lots look empty right now.
  18. I just discovered Hobo Shoestring, he's a train hopper and documents different trips. Living the dream I guess, here is a ride from Shreveport to Dallas, he starts the video describing a local gas station and the food there.
  19. Hell Yeah! The Plano one will be close to me. (I know username doesn't check out).
  20. Truth, but my great great grandfather or something like that bought a family plot in Wolfe City of all places sometime after the Civil War for like $5 is the story I've heard. Mom did say she wanted to be buried there, so I think we used the last remaining plot for her.
  21. That's what I figured. I have a brand new M&P9c that is ready for some range time.
  22. Any leads on 9mm availability?
  23. My Mom passed suddenly had we had to plan almost everything from scratch. She already had a plot that had been passed down from previous generations, and it made it a little easier that the funeral home we used managed that cemetery but that was it. If they already have plots, talk to the cemetery about what they require, then like everyone said talk to the funeral home.
