Damn, apparently I need to open a pizza place in Arlington. If i Fratelli is considered a hell of a pizza there.
  2. Hope he left some room in the budget for a remodel. That place is badly in need of updating.

Same here, but it’s been in the last couple years. It was okay. Nothing great, nothing horrible. I was whelmed. They use 3rd party delivery services so I won’t ever order them again. I’ve boycotted all of them. Worst experience ever and, from what I hear, they are raping these restaurants with no lube…although, the restaurants are the ones choosing to use them, so it’s hard to be too sympathetic. Dominos got my business (for the big chains) as they’ve outwardly campaigned against delivery services. And Bona has their own delivery people, so I get them now if I don’t feel like a chain. tl;dr - FUCK 3rd part delivery services
  4. Well, while you're in the burbs, might as well swing through The Branch and check out Best New Restaurant and Best Chef nominee...
  5. Uh yeah. That’s definitely the biggest WTF.
  6. this ^ Yeah, people are all pumped up about this. I've lived in my neighborhood for a couple years now and have received like 2 total emails from neighbors. Got one the other day pimping the shit out of this restaurant with everyone all excited about it. Like you, it was here before my time. When I first heard about it, I thought they were talking about us getting a Rosa's Cafe 😂 Not saying you're wrong and I hear a lot of buzz about it too, but are we just supposed to assume he can do Tex-Mex? I mean, he doesn't even have the best Italian place in town (top 5 probably), which is his thing. Wondering why everyone just assumes his Tex-Mex is going to be so great?
  7. Ok. So they scour the world for the best beef? They buy whole animals and then process it? and sell it back to restaurants all over the world? Yeah probably. I was being somewhat satirical. But KC strip doesn’t mean the meat you’re eating is actually from Kansas City and NY strip doesn’t mean it’s from New York. They just originally rose to their popularity from those places. And they’re pretty much the same thing, only the KC one has a bone. I don’t know the history, but I’d guess the strip originated in NY and Kansas City started serving it with the bone attached and called it their own. Kansas City is pretty aggy in that regard…wanna be big city with a bad case of collective little brother napoleon syndrome.
  8. I've been to Chicago. Never seen any cattle in Chicago. Texas is the largest cattle producer I believe. Or are most of the slaughter houses in Chicago. Serous question. Allen Brothers is based there. Damn near every high end steakhouse gets their meat from there.
  9. Most restaurant NY strips and Kansas City strips come from Chicago.
  10. I don't think any of this means what you think it means.
  11. Reminds me of my first time in a casino ever. I was 16 at the time. It wasn't Vegas, it was some riverboat or dog track with a casino in Illinois or Iowa or some shit. I'm sure it was pretty shitty, but it might as well have been the Wynn for all I knew. Anyway, went with an older uncle who loved to corrupt the shit out of me. Walked in the door all wide eyed, put a quarter in the first slot machine I saw, pulled the lever and won $1,000 on my first pull. At that age, at that time, that was a fuck ton of money. Uncle was able to cash it out for me, which was cool. Shitty part was that it likely ruined all gambling for me from that point forward. Spent several years learning the hard way that it doesn't usually work that way. I rarely gamble anymore. And I still blame that uncle for most of my shittiness as an unproductive member of society. /csb
  12. I don’t get that mentality at all. A big reason I’m being drawn more toward the NFL and away from college these days IS the parity. The only fans I can see not wanting more parity today is Alabama fans.
  13. Do you even witness protection program, bro?
  14. Wife made this Natual Heaven white rice last night. Highly highly recommend. By far the best rice alternative I’ve tried. Haven’t tried any of their other stuff, but if it’s half as good as their white rice, I’m in. Available on Amazon. https://eatnaturalheaven.com/collections/all?gclid=Cj0KCQiA9OiPBhCOARIsAI0y71DEtz4I0i1SAuvRmP2GFT5rVfAw7jeTl_FZE8mIVbgxrtIqKOu1M_waApV1EALw_wcB 7B6C9320-8D7A-40F5-B296-3491061F28EC.webp
  15. I hear ya. But the food is only one part of why you go out to eat. Probably not even the most important part, for me anyway.
  16. Seems a little extreme. If I decided to quit going to restaurants every time I ate at a chain and realized I could cook better at home, I'd never go out to eat anymore.
  17. Depends what you're looking for. Pros and cons to both. Encore is nicer/newer, Wynn is better location/near a lot more shit on the property. When we were going a lot, wife prioritized being closer (not having to walk stumble in heals) over the nicer rooms.
  18. This cannot be stated enough. CFP expansion won't help. If anything, it will just add more shit games. Parity is the only thing that will help. It's mind boggling that high school football and NFL football can figure that out (for the most part), but college football just keeps eating its own.
  19. And tech just kicked the ugliest field goal.
