  8. Sorry, but this has been going on longer than the last 3 years. It's just legacy of the republican Southern Strategy. Republican Strategist Lee Atwater laid it out: "Atwater: Y'all don't quote me on this. You start out in 1954 by saying, "Nigger, nigger, nigger". By 1968 you can't say "nigger"—that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states' rights and all that stuff. You're getting so abstract now [that] you're talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you're talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is [that] blacks get hurt worse than whites. And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I'm not saying that. But I'm saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me—because obviously sitting around saying, "We want to cut this", is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than "Nigger, nigger". So, any way you look at it, race is coming on the backbone." Invoking God is right out of the playbook as well. This is all learned behavior that many vote for and support.
  9. Anybody got takes on MPC and WPX?
  10. He beat polling by 15-20 points after Clyburn's endorsement, which is huge in SC. Clyburn's endorsement is so huge that SC's status as first in the South was going to be taken away before Clyburn promised to not endorse anyone.
  11. So Clyburn, who basically gave Biden the nomination
  12. What were your thoughts on this? US troops and their allies feel humiliated after abandoning their bases in Syria to be taken over by gleeful Russians https://www.businessinsider.com/us-troops-humiliated-abandoned-bases-syria-russians-2019-10
