Exactly.
And should Nike choose to go down this path, I’ll take the Brand with a $55+B valuation over the competing Brand with a $28+B valuation.
I mean, I get it- Adi is “having a moment” as we say in the industry. They’ve been on a roll for the last 20-24mo’s.
Either one of Samba, Gazelle, Spezial and Campus are on damn near every white suburban Girl in America. And now if you walk through the Mall (yuck), you’ll see the SuperStar plastered all over FLocker/Champs, JD/Finish Line, Shoe Palace and Journeys’ windows. Hell, even at a few select Famous Footwear - Bjorn (Gulden, Global president) & John Miller (US Pres.) aren’t screwing around. They see an opportunity and are going for it- however, have no fear- Once the street- meaning the “real” Streets (NYC/Balt/DC/HTown, Chi-town/East StL, etc etc) all get tired of folk the Suburban Kids, they’ll break off again and jump back on the Swoosh.
It’s the cycle. It’s been going this way for the last 50yrs.
