  1. NBC merged/shut down NBC Sports Network earlier this year and moved their key sports properties to USA. They are mirroring TNT. They figured out they can demand more money for their flagship cable channel with sports than they could with USA and NBCSN. To be determined if that will bear out as true. They also moved much of what doesn't make it to USA to Peacock to bolster the streaming offer. They never had any college football on NBCSN as far as I recall because Comcast only has ND home games. And those go on Big NBC. I think I recall one, maybe two Domer games were on Peacock this past season. Joe can correct. For those of us that watch stuff that was on NBCSN/now on USA, it's relatively seamless, but a lot less pregame and replays. EPL, golf, Tour de France, NASCAR, etc. So if they got more CFB content beyond ND, it'd go on Big NBC, USA, and Peacock. They probably won't get enough CFB inventory to need to use their other channels. Golf, Univision, CNBC, MSNBC, Olympic, etc. For the last day of the EPL season, when every team starts at the same time to alleviate tanking and cheating, they will air them all across these networks and try to make a big deal out of it. But I'd guess they will stop doing that and push it all to Peacock.
  2. It was a long time ago, but I had a car loan with UFCU and moved out of state within a month of getting that loan. They had no problems with me changing addresses to other states. I didn't know that cared about this.
  3. Incorrect. Texas has the third largest endowment. Stanford is third among private schools. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_colleges_and_universities_in_the_United_States_by_endowment
  4. Maybe check to see if crap/plastic/whatever has been dislodged during the repair and is now blocking the aerator. Pop that out completely and see if the water will run from the side that was not dripping/replaced. I took all the aerators out at the height of COVID so the kids unknowingly did a better job washing their hands with more water.
  5. Fuuuuuck. I remember when we were #2 on that list. And just realized we were #3 until last season and let Domers and OU pass us with that craptastic season. That stings a little. But most of all, it just became real that our new home won't do us any favors to stay up on this list. We are entering the era of NFL-like W&Ls instead of regular 10+ wins when we are doing it right. Stop bitching about long standing members of the SEC. We're going to need those games. And for the last decade, we've shown we were one of those games until we prove otherwise.
  6. And also blocks SEC or anyone else from LA.
  7. I'm not sure stadium size is relevant. B1G just accepted a team that doesn't have a stadium.
  8. The first day of the tour is always a great day. Vingegaard is their other gc contender. They'd both have to go down for kuss to get the love.
  9. I had a hell of a time finding a quality leather briefcase that was right a few years back after the previous one crapped out after decades. Bought a few from known luggage stores and online vendors and they all broke quickly. I went with one from Allen Edmonds (shoe store) that held up well, has the right pockets and laptop area, and high enough quality leather. Down side is a damn logo embossed on the bag, which I am not a fan of but hard to avoid. It has held up well for years and has good fasteners and stitching (which were the failures on other bags). https://www.allenedmonds.com/product/american-grain-collection-multi-pocket-briefcase-3023369/dark-brown-ec4005110 And thanks for the link @Francisco 2.0, I am on the hunt for a decent leather weekender bag that won't break the bank.
  10. I subscribe to 3 streaming services to see my favorite non-Longhorn team. Sports are as much an anchor that defies usual trends for streaming as it is over-the-air. I'll move around to new services if that's where my teams go. I bet Disney just picked up a ton of new subscribers in India. They paid almost as much as the TV rights to stream cricket.
  11. Churches or private schools might have vans or short buses you can rent/use?
  12. Man, this hits home...my go to work wardrobe don't work post-COVID! And I'm too damn old to go for the slim shit or the draw string shit. I need to find a happy medium between that and the various colors of khaki slacks from Nordstrom in the closet now. I did a zoom interview for a job...the other end was wearing a plain grey t-shirt with the neck all stretched out. They are doing this on purpose to confuse the olds!!!! I'm stuck between the olds we all know that just say fuck it and keep on wearing the stylish tassel loafers, pleated slacks, and a button down in all circumstances, and not ready for the overly casual "business" attire. I think the answer is tuxedo t-shirt.
  13. Well that seems like a really obvious and perfect solution and a product I should have known existed! Thanks man.
  14. I have a utility room that 2/3 underground/basement. I live is a very leaky neighborhood where the water seeps into basements from below when the water table rises with any significant rain. An answer is a french drain and sump pump, but I'm not ready for that yet. I am using Rust-Oleum Zinsser Watertite waterproofing paint (oil based) to try to reseal the room from the inside (never as good as doing so from the outside). I can see at least one layer of old waterproofing and one layer of what looks like black mastic all underneath a random paint job to hide the warts. No bigger pain in the ass than someone painting concrete that gets wet all the time...shopvac clogs with all those damn paint bubbles and chips. Anyway, I had planned to paint the walls and floors with two coats. After I'm already in to the project I read that this stuff is not recommended for floors with any foot traffic. And it's a matte finish that does not seem like it will hold up to much storage/foot traffic. I do want to seal the floor and walls with the same stuff as the seepage is almost entirely where the floor (concrete) meets the walls (cinder block with some brick and wood in places). So I wants a consistent barrier across that seam. And a few of the leaks are about a foot into the floor area as it's seeping from the seam, and going underneath previous layers of sealant to where if has flaked off. So I need to extend this stuff at least a couple of feet on the floor in to have a complete barrier. I pressure washed to get up as much of the old stuff as possible and not inclined to go any further as it's a laundry room underground...so I kinda don't need it to be perfect or beautiful. So, should I just paint the floor with the sealant and use it and not worry about the label? Should I paint over the sealant walking areas with something else? Label says not to, and I don't want more paint that will just bubble up and be a pain in the ass. I could use some non-slip crap like on concrete stairs? Should I slap some self stick vinyl tiles on the walking areas? I read that those don't do well when they get wet? I could throw ply wood down, but also not great when wet. Any great Surly/Shag suggestions for this one? Whatever I do, I am sure I will need to redo in 5-10 or until I can get the whole basement a french drain and sump pump.
  15. Thanks NoName. That's what I kind of figured. I really like the YTTV interface and GOOGL clearly has brought some experience with YouTube. I have regular Hulu and not a big fan of that interface. I assume Hulu with Live TV is just bolted on top of the regular Hulu interface? I was able to boil the cost confusion above down a bit further. With the $10 YTTV discount from T-Mo, YTTV with any mix of D+ bundles is cheaper. Without the discount, HuluwLTV is cheaper than any mix of YTTV plus D+ bundles, even with current long term discounts.
  16. I was more asking about the user interface and pros and cons between YTTV and HLTV. But to answer your question about cost...first...it took me this damn long to figure it out! With discounts and price hikes, it took a bit to figure out. And it turns out that with current discounts, it's still cheaper for me to have YTTV than get the Disney+ bundle with Hulu with Live TV. It's still cheaper to go with YTTV and pay full freight for the D+ bundle annually with the $10 discount I get for YTTV. Hulu with Live TV is $70 a month and includes Disney+ and ESPN+. YouTube TV is $65 a month and has a few more channels, and 3 concurrent viewers instead of Hulu's 2, which makes a big difference with our usage. I get $10 off of YTTV a month from T-Mobile I get Hulu with ads for free from Sprint...T-Mo still honoring. I am still on a 3 year intro deal for D+ that works out to $3.92 a month. I pay full freight for ESPN+ $80/year or $5.83 a month D+ bundle is $14 a month or $12.50 a month if you pay annually. YTTV + D+ bundle is $77.50 a month, but only $67.50 with the T-Mo discount. So even if I lose free hulu and when D+ three year deal ends, it will still be cheaper to stay with YTTV. Of course every single price above will change within six months. TBH, if not for sports, I could kill YTTV. There's enough on the streaming apps to make up for it. But sports keep me paying, and they know it. But the above plus Amazon Prime (I consider this free as I would pay for Prime for shipping anyway) and Paramount+ ($5/month) is still WAY cheaper than my last DirecTV bill. DTV more than double.
  17. I've got two in college, one of them from home, and three in HS, and a ten year old. So four teenagers in the house right now. Well five for the moment since oldest is home for spring break. I assumed on the statistical chances alone, I'd have some real problems in the teen years. And there's still plenty of time if that manifests, but by grace or luck or both, we have had almost no issues with the teenagers. One bout of eating disorder...that's all so far, at least that we know about. I feel simply typing this will jinx the mother loving hell out of it moving forward, but I felt I should post as all/most references to teenagers above give the sense it's a given there will be big issues. Serious good vibes and prayers for those dealing with that stuff. Tough as hell. One unexpected benefit to a large family is that the family is the center of gravity. Keeps the kids occupied and relatively out of trouble. So far.
  18. YTTV v Hulu with Live TV? It looks like it's time to revisit this one. Hulu with live TV just announced unlimited free DVR to match YouTube TV. I'm a big fan of YTTV, but could save a bit I'd guess if I bundled...I already have Disney+, ESPN+, and regular Hulu with ads. What say you Surly...how do they compare? Hulu Adds Unlimited DVR
  19. *Disclaimer. I have six kids, always wanted kids, married a lady that always wanted kids. It was always the plan/goal/whatever for us. Can't imagine life without the kids. With hindsight, it didn't feel like life before kids was real life. Just practicing and growing up a bit. Kids are extremely malleable, durable, and adaptable. If you are into something you fear you might lose with kids, you just do it with the kids. Most don't...we don't. We molded our life around the kids and their activities. But many keep on doing what they love and drag the kids along. That's more of a choice than a requirement. If your dream is to follow the F1 circuit around the world, you can easily take the fam and homeschool or take a year off. You want to sail around the world...plenty do that with kids. But you will find that once you have kids, they way you analyze, prioritize, or even maintain you dreams/hobbies shift. Not because it has to, but because you want to. I used to travel to all the MLB ball parks. Now I'd rather watch my kids play sports then drag them to do my thing they may or may not give two shits about.
  20. I feel that my participation in this thread may be some sort of jinx. So I wont say it... But I'm feelin' it!
  21. That's a good deal. Competition is good! I pay $81 for 300/10 for 2 years with Comcast, then it wil be $100. No real competition here yet.
