  1. Do we have any indication on why Texas is being more impacted than anywhere else? I can't imagine Texas is doing anything different than many of the other states where business have started opening up. Has Texas opened at a faster rate that every other state?
  2. What would you guess the percentage of people wearing masks in Austin is? Even conservatively I'd say it's 70-80% which is pretty good. Tack on that extra 20% and would the virus levels have gone down since Memorial Day? IDK My point is that overall I think Austin is doing a good job following advice... we will always have a few people that don't follow every order. Speed limits are set to save lives too.
  3. Have you ever left your house without a mask? I know I have and either had to go back and grab it or alter my plans on what I was going to pickup. I don't think it's a huge issue (although my cloth mask is starting to get a bit hot) but maybe we could get more disposable masks placed out for use. There will always be some folks that refuse for various reasons but that's always going to exist. But if we all wear masks will that really have that much more of an impact? Not sold on that... I do it because I'm asked to do my part.
  4. So now we need to dedicate law enforcement to patrolling stores and handing out tickets? That does not sound like the best use of their time to me. By my experience the majority of people in every store I've been in are wearing masks. (Yet we are at higher levels than when no one was wearing masks) How are you going to convince people to put all this effort into mandating masks across the state and find some way of enforcement. I'm fine for leaving it to the individual establishments to require a mask and ask people to leave if they don't comply. If there are a few people not wearing masks in Home Depot do that really significantly increase someone else's chance of contracting COVID (that is taking the precautions of masks and hand washing) to the point that we should be thinking about mandating it? We have slowed the spread, flattened the curve and our hospitals are not being overrun. Are some of you really in favor of shutting everything down again?
  5. I tend to listen to the individual with a gun prior to the recommendations of city council members who really know nothing and are no where to be found. Do restaurants and business not already have the ability to require masks? Why would mandating it at the state level make it more effective? I actually think Austin overall is doing a great job of wearing masks than areas farther out (Hays county for example). Most places I go I see the majority of people wearing them.
  6. I'm on the ALPP train. Interested to see what happens with $SNVP and may come in on that as well.
  7. To add to this I have an automatic pool cover and it's been great. You do have to get them maintained every now and then but I personally think it's better than either a fence or the "Catch a Kid". Draw backs are that you either need to open them up when it rains or have a sump pump on hand to remove the water. I saw the note on the skimmer running which is interesting... definitely don't want too much water and the weight or a lot of water can cause issues. Interested if that skimmer can handle the massive rain storms that we tend to get. I also find myself opening it up over night by July/August otherwise I feel it acts as na oven and does not let the heat escape therefore keeping the water warm. Pros are it's easy to cover/uncover therefore you won't run into the issue of needing to help the wife take off the net and therefore keep any barriers away from not wanting to use the pool. You can lock the cover switch with a key so when you travel or just want to make sure you keep kids out. Also when closed you can keep the grass out of your pool when cutting/trimming around it if you don't have decking. During rain the pool stays cleaner since you are not letting a ton of dirty rain water wash into your pool.
  8. $OKE down some more on the stock offering, starting to look good to add more. I bought $BA and $MAR on the dip yesterday $ZM keeping the run up but wtf is going on with $WORK?
  9. Fuck sitting in a 10x10 room for any extended period of time. Plus I thought the dorms closed and people had to move out?
  10. I'm considering buying $BA sub $180. If O&G comes down a bit more I'll likely just add to what I already bought a month or two ago on $XOM and $OKE. Other than that seeing S&P come down a few hundred points so I can buy SPY and a few other stocks that I have not picked up yet.
  11. To go into cash waiting for a better reentry? I've gone cash in a few stocks that have run back up but not yet touched anything in my 401K target funds.
  12. $BYND having a nice day... not as nice as SmallCap O&G but I'll take it
  13. I'm scaling back on some of the O&G stocks I own as I think this went down too far and now bounced back. Probably will keep XOM and OKE for the dividends and just add if we go back down. Still of the mindset there will be good companies later in the summer that will present some buying opportunities.
  14. About 50% invested. Conflicted on whether I start selling gains or hold and just buy more if we go back down this summer. Anyone like $ZI here?
  15. I hope we are right on this. Buying a bit more under $31 as well hoping to see $40 again in the next few weeks.
  16. I held $WORK through earnings and sold $ZM prior to earnings. Boy did I miss on those two.
  17. Zoom I can see having some downside here but people will still use Slack even when going back to the office. Down 17% after hours hurts. Maybe I should have sold $40 yesterday
  18. I'm in the SaaS MarTech/CXM space and all the projects in my pipe were put on hold so Q1/Q2 for me has been brutal. I've got a few existing accounts that I manage but they were really affected by COVID so not spending any new money so that's also slowed things down. I'm going to see if things take off here in the next few weeks/months but if not I'll probably be looking for another job as getting half pay is not going to cut it.
  19. So what are the theories out there for how tickets might be distributed if the reduced capacity holds? Lottery by section? Donor levels? How on earth will donations be handled? If I only got Kansas tickets would I be paying the same percentage of my full donation as the person who gets OU? What a mess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Is there a good thread discussing the theories on tickets and seating? Even if you do buy tickets (and the secondary market) if 25% capacity holds wouldn’t that mean it’s unlikely those tickets will not be valid. Especially if top donors get preference. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I haven't had access to my 401K recently so I'm not sure where it sits (but I never touched it so I'm hoping close). But thanks to a few nice moves my IRAs are well ahead of where they went Jan 1.
  22. I bought $WORK and $ZM right at IPO last year. Zoom has obviously done well but I'm so overjoyed Slack is finally back to that price. Loss aversion bias I guess
  23. Reporting Qtr results tomorrow... let's get to $44 on Friday!
  24. Next stop for me will be 8200
