  1. Can somebody photoshop the state of Michigan on this woman's face? I feel like between shit like this sign, and all of the Muslim voters who voted for Trump because they thought he'd be better for the Palestinian cause than Kamala -- hold on, bear with me ... I'm laughing uncontrollably here ... compose yourself C-Man ... ahem -- I feel that Michigan might be experiencing the most post-election schadenfraude of all the seven swing states.
  2. I think y'all are talking about different guys. @Macanudo, I think, is talking about the Slough House agent who got done in by the Russians on his bicycle. He was dating the black female agent. Roddy, the Asian techo-nerd who thinks all the ladies fancy him, is supposedly playing a bigger role in Season 5. Or so I've read. EDIT: @Stringer, are you talking about the guy who just came on the scene in the last season? I'd kind of forgotten about him.
  3. It's basically the same set list every single night. I compared the Saturday/Sunday runsheets from Dallas and there's not much difference. I had serious FOMO that I missed these shows. High Water was a lot of fun. Lord Huron was great on Saturday night and Arcade Fire looked like they were having a blast on Sunday night to close things out. Fantastic show. Counting Crows played earlier -- they were the "which of these things doesn't belong here" for this year but Shovels & Rope is no longer running/curating so you're going to get weird shit for the olds now -- and Adam Duritz looks like a Colin Farrell mash-up of his Horrible Bosses and Penguin roles. I said to my wife, "He looks like he has fleas." They were beyond terrible. Also got to see Waxahatchee, Mt Joy, Julien Baker & Torres as well as Trampled by Turtles. We didn't get there in time for Amos Lee but he joined Mt Joy for a cover of "Teenage Dirtbag." I had to bail on Yo La Tengo at Kessler. We were tired, I had a work function until 7:30 and my son has been staying with us on all school nights so I can make sure his ass goes to school. (We also have Hamilton Leithauser and then Wilco/Waxahatchee next week.)
  4. I've had Inherent Vice on my DVR for years and years. I've caught bits and pieces of it live over the years but always held off watching because I wanted to start at the beginning. It took me two sittings to finish it. It's OK, maybe good, but not great. It's too long IMO. Phoenix is great as the stoner PI. I couldn't quite figure out how Brolin was wrapped up with the heroin/smuggling operation. Was he in on it or was he just trying to pin it on Phoenix at the end? Then he showed up at Phoenix's beachside place at the end and busted the door down. I died when Brolin was going to town on the popsicle BJ-style and Phoenix looked over with a look of disgust. The Asian chick was smoke and gotta love full frontal from Sam Waterston's daughter. I followed this up by knocking out Licorice Pizza a few nights later. Not quite sure what to make of that one either. I did say I dug the 60's/70's Los Angeles worlds he built for the two movies. "Let's go to the Cock!" If pinned down, I probably give both solid 7's out of 10. (I hope this new one is much better.)
  5. MGMS-13 Extreme Vanilla ICE
  6. Greenwood Not Green Day
  7. I mean we're not really that far away from reports of Trump making 18 holes-in-one in a single round of golf are we?
  8. I read something awhile back that Trump's brain is so mush-like, and he's told so many lies/fabrications in his life that he can't keep anything straight, which explains why he says one thing one day and something completely the opposite the next -- and has no realization of what he's doing. The "truth" is what he believes it is at any given moment.
  9. Season 5 likely coming out in September. https://www.tomsguide.com/entertainment/apple-tv-plus/slow-horses-season-5
  10. It's never as bad as you think they are -- until the ride ends. And the ride always ends. "Let's hope" -- good strategy
  11. Texas House passes bill criminalize political memes. Offenders could face a year in prison unless the meme has a disclaimer. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJEh2lzOWR_/?igsh=dnR3eDZucjNtZTEx
  12. Meant to reply earlier that Toronto would likely Toronto. And the Leafs did. Chance to close out at home and lose 4-0.
  13. Hell, Denver has as many title teams as Dallas does since 1974. Cowboys 5, Broncos 3 Nuggets 1, Mavericks 1 Rangers 1, Rockies 0 Avalanche 3, Stars 1
  14. Most of those "heavy hitters" were complete nobodies when GoT started. I watched S2E1 on the plane to Charleston on Thursday and watched S2E2 on the plane ride home yesterday. I was not prepared for that. At all. My son has played the games and knew and kind of alluded to something big in E2 but I had zero idea. That episode was intense basically from start to finish. Other than Joel dying, which sucks, that was about as insane an episode of any series I remember seeing in a long, long time.
  15. I know there's quite a few variables -- arenas booked for concerts or have to battle NBA playoffs schedule -- but they shouldn't start a night game any later than 8 local time (probably no earlier than 6:30/7) in any market. Use that as a guide and then stagger them as much as you can in order to let fans watch as many games as possible. Hell, create a "mix" channel like for the NCAA Tournament, Masters, etc.
  16. Not sure when they'll announce those. Toronto-Ottawa will be the early game and LA-Edmonton will be the late game. I'm assuming another 8:45/8:50 CST puck drop for Avs-Stars until told otherwise.
  17. Man, I kind of enjoyed "Dirt Claude" myself. I was helping cover the team when the Stars brought him in late in 2002-03 season. He was cool. (That team should've gotten to the Finals but Guerin got hurt and then Giguere was wearing illegal pads.)
  18. I looked it up. Sean Keeler wrote that column. Keeler is the columnist who Deion banned from asking questions at CU events last fall. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/40967823/colorado-bans-reporter-asking-deion-sanders-questions
  19. Ooh, "Dallas Divers" sick burn, you old, fat, white guy (assuming the columnist is an old, fat, white guy -- because most of them are). Anyway, the dude is right about one thing -- Makar has been invisible. I keep saying the same thing each game. Let's hope he doesn't get untracked. Wonder if he's battling some kind of malady.
  20. I was watching on Victory and Josh and Razor mentioned it and you could hear the crowd. But somebody was blocking the in-box camera so we couldn't see what he was doing other than what they said. Was he holding his hand up to his ear or something like that?
  21. I have a kid at the HS but live just outside the district so I don't have a vote. What do you mean he's "all over SportsDay"? I would've probably voted for him up until a couple of weeks ago. In the last few weeks, however, he's continually shot himself in the dick by over-saturating his presence in the PC online groups to the point. Seems like a smart guy but you've got to the game come to you sometimes. I don't particularly like how Denton hasn't agreed to do any co-events with Altschuler so people can hear both their perspectives on issues at the same time. Denton was running unopposed for quite some time and then once Altschuler jumped in, there was an allegation that Denton cribbed quite a bit of Altschuler's platform from his campaign site. (Again, I don't have a vote so I haven't paid nearly as much attention to this race. It does not appear that Denton is as 'crazy' a candidate as Siino or the lady who ran right around COVID who got a large campaign donation from a hard-right GOP/christofascist donor from Mississippi. My kid is also done with HPISD next spring, so in short, I'm about to no longer GAF if somebody wants to crash the district into the side of the mountain. Morgan Meyer's already bailed out of the cockpit.)
  22. This seems bad. I don't subscribe to this one so I don't have the entire post. https://www.leefang.com/p/speaker-johnson-plans-vote-to-curb Speaker Johnson Plans Vote to Curb Congressional Oversight of Trump, Musk Congress will vote on new rules to shut down its own investigative powers of the executive branch.
