Benn was an elite power forward up until about his age-28 or age-29 season, which IIRC is about when power forwards historically start their decline in the NHL. He was a top-10 overall point shares player in the NHL for three or four seasons there. He was an elite player. Was. Hasn't been for a number of years.
After tonight, Robertson has 44 career points (18G, 26A) in 55 playoff games. Seven of his 18 goals and 11 of his 26 assists have come on the power play. That's 40% of his production coming on the power play. Compare that to 29.4% of his career regular season points coming on the power play. Your top scorer(s) need to be able to get it done on 5-on-5, with a man advantage -- whatever. I said it back during his first swim through the playoffs in 2021-22 when he had 41 regular season goals and got one in a first-round loss to the Flames (the aforementioned Otter series). I wondered if he could ever become a consistent postseason scorer. Three seasons later, we still don't really know.
