  1. So I just read the last page of the raging Austosport thread re: Horner. Seems most of them are all in on the 'Jos trying to oust Horner' conspiracy theory, treating it like fact ... as if any of us actually knows shit about fuck. LOL, internet.
  2. Oh noes! My boss keeps trying to tell me what to do when I'm at work! /millenial
  3. Yep, it's about the 'pointy' (oversteer-y) characteristic (not the setup) of the car, which is typically difficult for almost anyone to drive, including F1 drivers. Max apparently handles it with no problem. Some people out there (not you) say the team is setting it up just for Max and in a way that the other guy can't drive it. It's more like this is the fastest design they could come up with, and it's a handful for most because it's so pointy, but Max handles it fine. There are probably a couple of other guys who could drive it well, but most won't. They can mitigate that somewhat with setup for each driver, but that will likely come in the form of compromises that tend to make the car easier to drive, but simultaneously make it a little slower. Yep, or Mercedes. And yeah, F1 is loving it, and imho they orchestrated the timing of at least one of the Andretti or Lewis news drops.
  4. Still subject to an approval vote, but it looks like they're going to actually do the right thing and adopt the sprint weekend schedule I've been pushing for. Friday: FP1, Sprint Qualifying Saturday: Sprint Race, parc ferme opens, GP Qualifying Sunday: GP F1 sprint race weekend format set for reshuffle in 2024 Formula 1's sprint race format is set to be reshuffled for 2024 with grand prix qualifying to be moved to Saturdays, following an F1 Commission meeting on Monday. https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/f1-sprint-race-weekend-format-set-for-reshuffle-in-2024/10572680/
  5. That occured to me as well. Since Dieter died, there's been some friction at Red Bull, between the company's ownership and the racing team. Dieter loved the racing team and protected it, but Dieter's dead, baby.
  6. Pics of Brett Fav-ruh's dick?
  7. Yep. I love Aston Martin, Ferrari, & Red Bull for their full liveries.
  8. FOM not allowing Andretti into the commercial agreement despite there being at least 2 open spots for new teams and despite Andretti having already been approved by the FIA as an entrant into the World Championship. Technically, it seems Andretti can still race, but without prize money from the commercial side of the sport - FOM. That's probably unlikely to happen. It's just ultra-expensive club racing now as far as I and a lot of other people are concerned.
  9. Sure, I'll watch. But like many others, I cancelled my F1TV Pro sub. I'm not going to keep directly handing them my money for this bullshit. With every stupid new decision they make, they make a bit more of a mockery of the sport. And with this latest move I guess it really is no longer a true world championship.
  10. That's not really what's happening there.
  11. From the Tulsa World ... "TKO: Texas Knockout"
  12. I read yesterday somewhere that when Bono heard the news he asked if it was April Fool's Day already. Surprised Lewis hadn't already told him.
  13. Yeah Bono might be the only one who'll be able to keep Lewis off the ledge.
  14. I wish Creventic still came to COTA. Are they gonna take a break for sleep and then restart in the a.m. like they did here, or are they gonna go continuously through the night?
  15. Hit. Bit. 220. 221. Well done. Can't believe I missed it!
  16. Oof. That's no joke. She ok? ETA: nm lol.
  17. Super-impressive the last couple of seasons.
  18. Could be. I dunno much about it myself. I was just summarizing what guys who do know about it were saying. They were already watching Ferrari stock since the release of the better-than-expected earnings report and said reports can push stock values up or down by as much as 30% in one day, & +10-15% is great but not really uncommon due to volatility caused by high-volume trading when the reports come out. I think even if Lewis had a significant impact on the remaining 3% increase, that's impressive. They said it closed today +8.4% compared to the last close before the earnings report.
  19. I read that Ferrari's stock (RACE) was already up 10% in high-volume trading in reaction to the earnings report when the news hit, but the news probably had some effect on the remaining increase in value, adding to the momentum. Good timing for Ferrari. RACE has corrected today with profit-taking and is down 3%. So Hammer Time is over for now... In other news:
  20. I was thinking about that when I posted it. Is that the Billy Pittman play against ou sucks?
  21. I'm reading the $100M for Lewis is over 2 years, but who really knows anything outside of Lewis and Maranello.
  22. So, sigh, FOM says they invited Andretti to meet with them back in December, and Andretti declined. Turns out, what they actually did was have an FOM staffer send them an email invite, which wasn't recognized and was sent to spam. An email - for something this important? I know these guys are supremely competent at making money, but they're looking quite amateurish here ... unless, that is, they never really wanted that message to be read, and just wanted to be able to say they sent it. You'd think, if they really wanted to meet with Andretti, they'd have followed up when they didn't get a reply, right? And they seem to be just stepping on their dicks over and over with their attempts to make it all seem legally defensible. From this kind of thing to trying to hook Cadillac up with Williams, nothing they've done has been in good faith, and they're putting it on display for the world to see.
  23. Here's a photo I've always loved for some reason. Couldn't find it before and just saw it in my desktop background file. An all-time favorite ...
