  1. Oops. The Zograffi Brothers. Sold cassettes in the mid-80's.
  2. I loved their first album and then in concert in 89 they acted like they were ashamed of it. Deceive Yourself is a great fucking song. Here is my submission: I got in trouble for playing it too much when working at a record store in 1985. We didn't have it in the collection anymore and so they told me to just take it home.
  3. Sutton is in an analyst role for Tech.
  4. So, football has hired former HC's (Fedora, Beaty) to be advisers to the football program. Does Del Conte hire advisers for the basketball program in addition to an assistant coach to replace Horn? And if not, why not?
  5. Funny and clever. Matt Berry is a riot. Gardening at night.
  6. Items to work on. Coleman - quickness, pace and shooting floaters better. Ramey - temper, recognizing picks and shooting. Febres - defensive effort, concentration, driving and shooting. Hepa - lateral quickness, overall quickness, strength and shooting. Sims - concentration, defensive effort and shooting. Jones - health. Liddell - strength and shooting. Mitrou-Long - concentration, intensity and shooting Hamm - defensive skills and ability to make outside shots. Cunningham - quickness and shooting. Baker - strength, quickness and shooting. Jones - shooting. Williams - shooting. Play Hepa and Sims together and Hamm and Baker together, but not Hepa and Baker together unless there is significant improvement in quickness and toughness. How tough and how hard can Texas play next year? They played hard in NIT, can they do that from game 1-40?
  7. Has Texas upped its play in the NIT or are the wins a product of playing lesser teams? Shaka is finally playing a deep roster and it begs the question why Liddell didn't get any minutes during the season. Does Shaka use his deep roster to run at TCU's short roster or does he shrink his roster to those he trusts and again get manipulated by Dixon? Lower quality teams and un-scouted opponents stops with TCU. I think the verdict is in on Smart coaching ability, but with Beard's results the gap has gotten larger between the top of the B12 and Shaka. Shaka can build some momentum with a blasting of TCU, but I doubt that happens.
  8. Watching the game last night and one team was playing chess and the other checkers. Tech has an advisor to Coach Beard by the name of Sean Sutton. Sutton may not have been great as a head coach, but he can coach defense. Why don't we take the sunk money and hire Hoiberg as advisor to Shaka. Have a good season next year and let Shaka move to a Wake Forest type situation and then let Hoiberg slide in as head coach. Win-Win for everybody. Tech also gained two talented grad transfers that have been key, but your broader point that Shaka is a shitty coach still stands.
  9. Baylor was playing a 3-2 zone and so the middle was covered if ball went to side. The openings were on the baseline with Hepa wide open many times, but the guards were too tentative and wouldn't make the pass to him. Smart screwed up by not playing Sims in second half as he could have flashed on the baseline with Hayes being covered and gotten easy looks. Sims also would have been better at defense and rebounding. Give credit to Baylor for playing physical and hard, but Smart mismanaged the game.
  10. This is Texas' only chance to win a remaining game on the road, so they better bring their speed and for once, be focused in a road environment. And if there is a last shot opportunity put the ball in Ramey's hands. They ain't winning in Lubbock and conference tournament will be a neutral game.
  11. She's come a long way from "girl on girl action" and having a "midnight gobble".
  12. So, Febres and Long will get some more time with Roach out. Looking at Febres' 3 point shooting as I wonder how effective he is as a shooter. I don't know if there are stats for this, but he seems to shoot better when he has the Texas bench behind him, so I'm curious if there is a breakdown of his first half and second half percentages. According to stats, he's shooting 36.1% in 3's over the season. He is slightly up for the conference at 36.7%, but if you take out the highest (7-9 v KSU) and lowest (take your pick as he's had two 1-6 games OU and WV) in conference his percentage drops to 32.8%. Long's shooting percentage is 33.8% and 30.4 for three for the season. Both of these guys are going to have to raise their game for Texas to have a chance to win games the rest of the season. And that includes from the foul line where Febres is 61.5% and Long is 57.1%. I can understand the logic in Shaka saying Febres is a great shooter, but it's time to pull out all of the motivational options.
  13. His final four team started the year ranked 4th. Elite 8 in 08 started at 15. Elite 8 in 06 started at 2nd. None of his other teams achieved anything higher.
  14. Agree. We are also making some adjustments like having Coleman in the middle of the zone and the zone collapses and he can pass out to wings. But the biggest thing in Texas' recent play is Ramey operating and shooting at a high level. And when Osetkowski goes ofer, we are not relying on him to create any offense as we did last year or earlier in the season.
  15. So with youttubetv, I can record films and am on the lookout for ones that have been overlooked or I haven't seen. As of now, I've got The Crowd, Dodsworth and Holiday checked. What other movies should be on the list?
  16. Barnes winning a championship means that he could do what he couldn't do here. So fuck him for not doing it here. And I don't think he will do it at Tennessee.
  17. Did anyone find it interesting that Hepa and Liddell played the final 7 seconds with the walk-ons? Smart has not done a good job in developing the freshman this year. Liddell should have been redshirted, if Smart wasn't going to use him. I think Hepa should have been used more frequently in the non-conference to get him acclimated to the speed of the game. Hayes and Ramey are just flat out better than Sims and Long, so credit to Shaka for moving them to the starting lineup. And unfortunately for Long, Texas is better with him not on the floor.
  18. Bringing up baby The sure thing the apartment
  19. Three night ago I was at a disco You suck my blood like a leech This is the story of a mixed-up teen If the wife and I are fussin, brother that's our right There are some things you can't cover up with lipstick and powder No one knows what it's like Je suis un rock star
  20. Two small but crucial things ticked me off and both coach and player are to blame. On a close ISU shot, DO makes the move to the baseline to grab the made shot, but the ISU player misses the shot and is able to easily get the offensive rebound and put it in. DO traps the perimeter player on the high side (towards midcourt) and allows his player to have a wide open shot.
  21. Strangers on a Train on now and then North by Northwest.
  22. +Matewan. I was surprised at how parts of Sorry to Bother You was traditional. And all of your three additives are fine movies.
  23. The Third Man Breaker Morant Trainspotting The Philadelphia Society Do the Right Thing The Treasure of the Sierra Madre Chinatown Matewan Spirited Away Young Frankenstein Certainly not a movie expert, but these movies are the best to me. From being a fan of Graham Greene to seeing some in Hogg auditorium on a big screen to having early morning discussions after watching it at midnight and part of these were from watching with my kids.
