  1. Yeah, Blackshire would seem to be the obvious choice. Bolden is good enough to where he should have a featured role in the return game and be getting some offensive touches even with him enrolling in the summer and entering a somewhat crowded room. Would be a bummer to lose him.
  2. exPort= player entering the portal I guess the rePort is about a player who previously transferred into the program but may be re-entering the portal.
  3. IT "We’re still watching for exPorts with one potential “surprise” as a possibility." There's a strong chance this player will leave. We might find out today. We're also tracking a rePort aka a one-time imPort.
  4. So does Pierce go and hang with Occupy LF (technically outside the stadium) or just watch in his office while pacing back and forth hoping we don't hit 9 batters?
  5. Neutral site against Ohio State, UConn at home and that mini-tournament in Brooklyn already on the schedule? Get ready for a lot of Houston Christian matchups outside of that.
  6. The process used was questionable at best, and when you overturn a run scoring play in the 7th inning of a deciding game of a series for a team and coach trying not to drown, you better be prepared for tempers to flare. The ball never changed direction or speed as it went by Powell. Moreland claimed he thought it hit him “in the back of the right calf”, but you can’t even see that part of his body in the one grainy replay they showed. The second base umpire was staring directly at the play, did nothing, then overturned it and kept pointing to his ear like he was saying he could hear it hit him, which goes to the point of why wasn’t it called that way in real time then?
  7. As with most rules the NCAA has, it is extremely vague and it is rarely ever applied. The rule is you can’t continue to “excessively express yourself following an ejection”. That leaves it in the hands of the umpire to determine what “excessive” is. A head coach should be able to make his point as long as he doesn’t make contact with the umpire. How is what Pierce did excessive but what Jay Johnson did earlier this year not excessive?
  8. It’s definitely an imperfect formula. OU is being propped up by their wins away from home (sweep at TCU, neutral site wins against Tennessee and Nebraska), which the RPI formula loves. They have also swept 4 conference series which moves you up the RPI ranks quickly even if it is a home sweep. Most SEC schools have found a way to manipulate RPI by playing pillow soft out of conference schedules so everyone has a high RPI heading into conference play then you just beat up on each other and the losers don’t drop much. The general rule is you need to be in the 40’s in RPI or higher to get an at large and have an above .500 in conference play. You will see a few 14-16 conference records get in, mainly in the SEC or ACC. The year Ole Miss won it all they got in at 14-16.
  9. That would almost make no sense because those type of conversations would have happened before he decided to return.
  10. If the umpire deems you continued to argue too long after your ejection and didn’t leave the field quickly enough, they can tack on two games. Stupid rule.
  11. I would hope Bobby wouldn’t be referring to Broughton as a returning starter, because that would really be reaching.
  12. Brooks makes the most sense. Wasn’t it mentioned on here he was considering the portal at the end of the 2022 season and there was some disconnect between the staff and his dad?
  13. Each coach gets 2 reviews to use per game as things currently stand. Umpires can call for a crew initiated review as well. Why should they not allow coaches to review anything they want outside of balls and strikes? Hell, the current rules allow them to review almost anything except for like 3-4 things. I don’t think that is extreme. And as mentioned above, SEC has centralized review so umpires don’t even have to leave the field.
  14. Regressed, like so many others on that team. 7.11 ERA this year.
  15. Any play should be reviewable (aside from balls and strikes). If you are going to have replay available, get the calls right. All of them. It’s not that difficult.
  16. I find it hard to believe a ball potentially hitting a runner doesn’t fall under “all baserunning rules”
  17. We win just one of those 8 Q4 games we lost and things look very different right now. Don’t even want to think about if we won 2 or 3 of them. We are going to need to win 18 or 19 conference games to get our RPI in respectable territory.
  18. At minimum that should have been reviewed. No way you overturn that on the field when you didn’t make the call originally.
  19. Stfu. If everyone knew the ball hit him why didn’t they call it originally?
