  12. It's more like convincing her to wear your letter jacket for an afternoon before her 23 year old boyfriend picks her up in his Camaro. Frustrating, but she signaled to the lesser females that you are indeed fuckworthy and it'll pay off at some point

  19. I agree but I would add the non inclusion of the dislike button resulted in the laugh emoji πŸ˜‚ becoming the default dislike. Its one thing to see ideas downvoted but the πŸ˜‚ generates a completely different level of mad
  20. The one thing that took "the act" out of my own personal realm of consideration is hearing it described as that person killed somebody. He killed somebody's brother, somebody's son, somebody's teammate. As low as Ive ever been I could never get past that part, the absolute devastation that would never go away in the people I love. When I was 18 my cousin self deleted and that entire side of the family was never the same. Am I lucky to have people that love me to consider during those terrible moments? Absolutely. My heart goes out to everyone who's ever been so low and had nobody in their lives to change their mind. And every person's mental illness is different. I also consider myself lucky that Ive had the wherewithal to remind myself during those times, it's not taken for granted and Im certainly not saying everyone else should be lucky enough to save themselves
  21. I worked at UPS for a long time and know a lot of people, nobody in Louisville though. It's going around that the plane in question was pulled out of service last year and recently put back into service also that it supposedly had some sort of engine troubles the day before the flight. Could be total bullshit. The attempts upthread to tie this accident to the government shutdown aren't the only ones politicizing this. UPS cut 48,000 jobs in the last year alone and have brought forward many other cost cutting measures that are extremely unpopular with the rank and file. Just thinking from a logistical standpoint I know package volume has been running at almost half of covid high levels, so Im not sure why they would need to press a shoddy plane into service
  22. To me it's instructive that the answer to every pundit's favorite question "What's wrong with young men?" is that economic insecurity far outweighs the racist and/or sexist motivations ascribed to that group
  23. Mamdani won basically using Bernie Sanders platform. Young males by 40 percent. That's it. That's the lesson
