  1. That’s cool. Didn’t know they had already moved on from sand valley. Played Lido with Mike this Fall and was an awesome experience and he is a great dude. Definitely recommend playing one of their tracks when you have the chance.
  2. Had a quick trip to Charlotte, NC later last week and a buddy of mine got me on Charlotte Country Club. I don’t think I have ever played a club that old (built in 1911 I think) and it was unbelievably cool. One of the more enjoyable golf experiences I have ever had down to the caddy named Boxcar that had worked there 50 years. If you are around those parts, definitely worth the time. Now Chileno Bay tomorrow. I still hate golf though, lol.
  3. If you are in or near Austin, HUGE shoutout to Geromi of Boat Town. Long story short, had two families out for the first time since de-winterizing the boat. Apparently, when the person winterized, they missed emptying the strainer. So, unbeknownst to me, it cracked. took off in the boat, barely made it where I was going and there were a bunch of problems. Mainly caused by the cracked strainer. Called the local Boat Town and they said they couldn’t send someone to fix it. Called Geromi and within 30 minutes someone was there fixing it. Got it fixed and I was on my way. Truth be told I like Nautiques better than Mastercraft’s but bought a Mastercraft due to the service promised. I won’t ever buy from anyone else. Fun fact, he sold me this boat used with 20 hours on it as a favor to another customer and didn’t make a dime by selling it to me. And, this is still the service I received. Therr are still people that do business the right way and he is one of them.
  4. This has become an issue, lol. I now have 3 of them plus a new OG still sealed in the box that will stay that way on the shelf. The first one will remain decoration. The second 2, plus a lot of additional parts, will be as suped up as you can make it in this generation. I have heard about Thornhill and will probably check it out someday.
  5. Yeah, thinking about it, the sitting still comment was probably not accurate. In my mind, I was thinking sailing is chilling and casually cruising through the water. But, can certainly see there is more to it than that and it can get hairy dealing with the elements and can definitely respect it takes a lot of experience and skill. Absolutely the racing seems like a lot of work and could easily produce my favorite drug. It also seems very expensive and time consuming. (Since we are talking about passions/hobbies, just felt like writing this next part to share in case it interests anybody. Would be interested in reading y’all’s version of this) For me, I like the smell of hot brakes, fuel burning, a seat with no padding while locked in with a harness so you are part of the car, setting up the car, balancing just beyond the cars grip, diabolical qualifying laps where you get out shaking a little and think “holy shit”, laps where all sections come together, breaking into a new second you haven’t seen before, not letting the predictive lap time fuck you up, pit crew telling you what you need on a lap during qualifying and making it happen, beating the people that trained you, the nervousness when gridding up not knowing what kind of shape things will be in when you return, the way your heart pumps when watching the shoulder/elbow for the flag to drop, the initial roar when everyone steps on it, surviving that first turn, reminding yourself to breathe, drink water and lightly grip the steering wheel, the sound two cars make when they are inches apart leaving a corner and the engines sing in harmony, setting up a pass several turns before you intend to pass, defending a corner, perfectly exiting a corner counter steering and there was no more track to use on track out and there is probably a little dust behind you, standing on the brakes because you came in too hot but you made it, forcing an error on the person in front of you because you are pressuring them, flashing your lights at the person you are pressuring, seeing the white flag, the sigh of relief when you pass the checkered flag and let off the gas, the feeling during a cool down lap especially if you won or placed, pulling back into pits in one piece, comparing notes and sharing stories with the other racers afterwards especially if there was a close battle. And, most of all, that 30 minutes to an hour and a half where you can think about nothing else other than what you are doing at that exact second and maybe the next few seconds. It’s the only thing I have found so far that calms me down and clears my head. And, this is from an amateur. Just like golf, the pros are on a different level.
  6. Good info. Thanks. It does sound challenging and rewarding. Not sure it will ever be my thing but that’s cause I have no patience whatsoever and sitting still and I don’t go well together.
  7. I have no idea what you just said but it actually sounds fun.
  8. Hah. Definitely not driving there.
  9. A g wagon, sure. Just not a 63. They at least aren’t going crazy for above msrp anymore.
  10. For me, pretty much the exact same. I think it’s because it now has a stigma of a soccer mom grocery getter car. For her, looked at everything in that class and nothing really jumped out. Several of them are the same damn car just with different fit and finishes. I really like your 707 but she couldn’t get over the front end. If money were no object, and I didn’t have a 4 y/o and a golden retriever that manufactures hair, the Cullinan is probably the baddest mf’er out there. But, I guess it should be. On another note, my buddy just took delivery of a Grenadier. No telling what kind of problems it will have due to its newness but it is absolutely bad ass. I’m in love. Think they hit the mark on exactly what they were trying to build. One major downfall is it needs more power. But, that’s probably fixable.
  11. I’m heading to Snowmass Wednesday until Tuesday with the wife and 4 year old. Haven’t been there in forever and never with a kid. Any advice on where to eat, activities besides skiing, best thing to do with a 4 y/o? Should I start him on a board or ski’s? Individual lesson or group class? Open to any suggestions.
  12. I can finally stop worrying about all the treacherous terrain my wife (no pics) has to negotiate on the way to get hair, nails and Botox done. Never have been in love with these but it’s actually very nice. Drives firm, sounds great and has plenty of power.
  13. I have. Nothing really special other than the name and convenient location. If $800 (or $920) doesn't mean much to you, have a ball. It's a nice break from giving the blackjack dealers money. Otherwise, imo there are a lot of better courses in or near Vegas for the money.
  14. Hah. Haven’t thought about that boat in forever. You should have seen its predecessor. 15 ft tri hull outboard with a Home Depot pylon and a trash can for ballast. College was great!
  15. Before that was created, me and the dude in the yellow 2004 SAN I think you were taking about earlier killed my boat (2000 SAN) in all the ways imaginable. We mainly did upper San jac at that time and then clear creek. I can’t count the props and shafts I bent, ripped a rudder clean off one time and then managed to suck something up and blow a motor. Houston rivers/creeks were awesome.!
  16. On the streets 150-160 in several cars. Dumbest thing ever was I did a cannonball run from 59 and beltway to Pearland parkway with another GT3 on a Saturday morning and we were above 150 most of the time. As dumb as that was, it would have been awesome to be in a car in the right lane as we flashed by with engines roaring. On the track, 181 back straight of COTA in a F8. I definitely don’t condone that kind of behavior on the streets. It’s dumb

    Colonoscopy

Wait until your ass turns into a pressurized firehose for the 5th time and you will see why it’s in the Lulz forum.
  18. I’ve never had an Omega but during my 30’s I had to have a big gangster Breatling Bentley. It’s the only watch I’ve ever owned that I had to send back in for repairs (not maintenance) several times. Will never buy one again and I never wear it. Not sure why I still let it take up space in the spinner rather than just dumping it because it’s not going to appreciate.
  19. What is the mpg before I screwed it up? I just got about 15 something hanging mainly in the 80’s from Austin to Houston.
  20. Didn’t dig too much into it. That was just the initial plan and make kind of a GMC RaptorR out of a Denali or AT4-X but then I learned there was a diesel available and wanted that route instead. Then figured it was dumb to lift a Denali Ultimate but dumber to lift the AT4 or AT4X and I liked the Ultimate’s interior so here she be. Maybe the 6.2 next time if everything isn’t electric or hybrid by then.
  21. Don’t think I posted the actual truck when it got here but, somewhat surprisingly, I love this thing. I’ve actually jumped in it on nice days I normally would have taken a “fun car”. All the little features (cameras everywhere, tailgate, supercruise is great and still works, smart enough to automatically heat seats/stearing wheel, etc) make it super convenient. I’m sure the lift screwed up the ride but it still rides great. I wasn’t blown away with the stereo so ripped the stock stereo out, threw in some speakers, couple of 12’s and couple of amps (yes, I am a child) and that fixed it…side note, Custom Sounds on south Lamar sucks imo so had to have someone else fix it. Still second guessing if I should have done the 6.2 and supercharged it instead of the baby diesel but really like the diesel. kinda thought no matter how much HP it has, it’s still gonna be slow. Enough rambling, just want to pass on if you want a 1/2 ton, the Denali is awesome and the Ultimate’s interior is pretty much in Escalade territory.
  22. Yes. Love that one too. I never wear the panda any more so considering trading it in on something similar. Well, it plus a couple fun coupons.
  23. We have all of the cedar fever over here. The wife’s (no pics), turned into an upper respiratory infection. Mine (you don’t want pics) turned into pink eye (cedar or the 4 y/o, not sure). So, cooking instead of golf for me. Last nights and tonight’s dinner (the radishes in the beef stew were a last minute bad idea from our garden).
  24. Got this about 6 months ago intended as a “wear on nice days” kinda watch. i like it so much I pretty much only wear this one or an Apple Watch nowadays.
