  1. Great info. I’ll check them out. Thanks.
  2. It has been conceived. Should be fully grown in 5 more days. Pretty cool to watch the progress and hope you can actually track the ship close to live.
  3. Those and T1 are a little annoying for sure. I even scrape the front bumper in the esses. Still manageable but annoying.
  4. I do. This one is “nice”. The one on the way (that I check the status on every day) is a couple of notches above “nice” …only saying that because we are in this thread.
  5. You would think that but I just got pulled over on the way home from COTA a couple weekends ago with numbers on the side of my car still and the cop immediately said he was giving me a warning and thanked me for pulling over in a safe spot. Then again, I am white in one of the whitest areas ever and was driving a “nice” car (no racist). I posted about the other time I got pulled over in a track car on the speeding ticket thread and same thing. I think they think, ok 70 in a 55 is no big deal for this guy. /CSB
  6. That's ridiculous. Every year I have done upper T15 for like 650 with COTA calling me asking to buy instead of me calling them. This year when I did think about buying tickets they were already sold out. I imagine that's more "drive to survive" more than Covid but who knows. This world is nuts.
  7. This. Why would you negotiate against yourself when you are not the one requesting the sale. Show them the two appraisals (that they should have paid for), tell them to make an offer, if you like it, take it. If you don't, don't. You are in the driver's seat here and with a law degree from UT, you should be able to handle that diplomatically to where if the deal goes through or not, everyone should still remain family.
  8. Well, my Dad (who is bigger than yours) says it was Verstappen’s fault. So, there.
  9. Also, let’s be honest here. This penalty probably has more to do with the outcome than anything else. Had he re-entered and they just bumped and continued on, it’s very possible nothing would have happened (although I still believe this fell on Verstappen). But, he landed on top of Hamilton’s head. I get your inconsistency argument but sometimes it’s subjective and it is what it is and they send messages. Especially with this increasingly heated rivalry.
  10. Go read the stewards review posted previously. That was Mercedes argument in this instance. Had the situation been reversed, they would have argued the same as Red Bull. It’s not rocket surgery.
  11. I’m saying exactly that. If the situation were reversed he would be arguing Max should have left him room. Fairly certain any driver would do the same.
  12. Totally agreed. IMO, Verstappen and Hamilton have two different driving styles. All things equal, both work and are fast but Max's usually wins and crashes more often. If you ain't first, you're last. That said, I do think Max is the quicker driver. The rain races kinda prove that for me.
  13. lol, of course he said that since it benefitted him that day. If you ask him the same question about Sunday, he would most likely change his tune and say Verstappen wasn't level with him (I never said he wasn't a whiny self-serving baby) so it was his line and he should have backed off (actually that is pretty much what they argued to the stewards). Good thing drivers aren't stewards. I would imagine the regs address all these scenarios but think the link above is a good summary of them.
  14. I didn't see him dart across until after the blend line. Had he crossed that blend line, he certainly would have received a penalty.
  15. Just for discussion, I feel this is true but it depends on what "alongside" means. Does it mean a nose, halfway, wheel-to-wheel? It depends on the circumstances. Here is a good write up (I didn't bother to read that actual regs): https://f1metrics.wordpress.com/2014/08/28/the-rules-of-racing/ Most relevant part here is: "The guiding principle is that the driver on the outside should be at least level (front axle in line with front axle) with the driver on the inside to have a claim to the racing line on corner exit. Depending on the type of corner and the cars involved, either the outside or inside line may be quicker through the corner, meaning the driver on the outside may gain or lose ground from corner entry to corner exit. It is relative positions of the cars at exit — not at entry or apex — that is therefore crucial in judging these cases. If the driver on the inside is behind at corner exit, they must leave space for the driver on the outside. If the driver on the inside is ahead at corner exit, it is the duty of the driver on the outside to back out or take evasive action to avoid a collision." At no point was Verstappen level with Hamilton in that corner. So, the late brake was cool and all. But, when it failed, he should have bailed left.
  16. It was a buddies of mine that owns a dealership so I was just driving it for the experience. He made sure to tell my to put my head against the headrest before flooring it. Glad he did.
  17. Just drove the Plaid and holy crap that thing is crazy. I am not/wasn't a huge Tesla person but if I was in the market for a sedan, I am not sure I would consider getting anything besides it.
  18. However, I don’t disagree it’s a skill and a very common way to pass. But, it comes with risks presented today. Looks like the stewards and I view it that if you try it, you better bail or back off if there is not room. I’ve tried it hundreds of times irl and that’s the rule I use. Sometimes I back out, sometime I bail out. Sometimes I sneak in because they didn’t close the door. Sometimes I can hold the outside line. But, it’s on me if there is not room.
  19. The stewards, and I, seem to disagree with you. Life will move on.
  20. It’s a great way to gain some ground you probably shouldn’t have had. But, when you do it you have to take your medicine if there is not room to maneuver and either back out or bail out. That’s the risk you take when you do it. He chooses to late brake and then not bail or back out and bitch that there was no room.
  21. If I could neg his tweet without negging your comment, I would.
  22. I also enjoyed Max’s sportsmanship of walking away and not checking on Hamilton after he left his RR wheel on top of his head. I was trying to start to like him but can’t do it.
  23. Couldn’t agree with the stewards more. Max has a bad habit of late braking in order to claim the right to room and it finally bit him in the ass.
  24. I’m glad you said this. I’ve never really had that fear before either and about as soon as my son was born it hit me. I then made sure the life insurances were in order, a trust was set up, I made a contingency plan for the business and tied up loose ends I never really was concerned with before. I’ve always been a chronic worrier but this brought it to a new level. That said, wife finally got the second vaccine Friday so was out of commission today. Spent the day playing outside, taking a drive, making spaghetti and watching the F1 race and Cars. The juice is worth the squeeze.
  25. Yup, you definitely hate money to buy a used Porsche in this market, lol. But, not saying I wouldn't do it either. Congrats on the car, she's a beauty.
