  1. Even with the A-1, it tasted better than your mom.
  2. This tied for the best steak I have ever had and all I did was salt it a little and seared it on the stove. It’s called Oita Wagyu and Central Market has them. The fat felt like it was rendering at room temp. Didn’t get the after pic but absolutely killer. Highly recommend if you see them available.
  3. I need to do a dinner for clients next Wednesday night for about 25-30 people. The convention is at the Bellagio so was thinking Prime but they want a minimum of 10k plus tip which seems excessive. Or, am I off there? Was trying to stay close to the Bellagio in order to not have to shuttle everybody. Anybody have other ideas that are close by?
  4. I’m skipping the February event so won’t be out there until 3/16 but will report back then.
  5. Can we, Baylor people, stop this now. A lot of these posts are exactly why a lot of us don't hang out with the whiny, "sky is falling" when it's bad, "we're super bad ass and everyone else sucks" when it's good Baylor boards. Take the win and season in a sportsmanlike manner and whatever jabs that come from the past on the chin and brush them off. The things that happened were unacceptable, they happened, we dealt with it and now trying to move on. And, yes, Texas and OU leaving is going to hurt. But, the world is not over and we will deal with whatever happens.
  6. So, Dick’s just became a woman’s sporting store? The irony is strong there.
  7. You know what they say: flies, floats or fucks.
  8. Very true. If you can get a GT3 for 50k ADM, you should pull the trigger. Those things are selling 100-150k above right now. Then to add to it, and you have probably done this, but by the time you option a GT3, there becomes a bigger delta between the 3 and S.
  9. When I was young I wanted to be an Ortho. Then, I realized I am not interested in science at all so there went that. Then, I wanted to be a lawyer. Eventually did this but I went the insurance route instead (the law degree does help here with what type of insurance I do). I still think being an Ortho would be cool. But, it's hard to beat being able to do what I want, when I want, while making decent money and most likely will eventually have a liquidity event.
  10. Sounds about right. Fortunately, I like watches but I am not addicted to them so never had the urge to put 6 figures on one.
  11. Just my opinion but probably the best thing to do is get a relationship with one salesperson (and the Sales manager or GM) at the dealership of your choosing. Buy a couple or a few cars from them. In one of those transactions, negotiate an allocation (and specify which round) at a certain ADM that you are comfortable with and get it in writing. Unfortunately, that seems to be the market we are in.
  12. Wow, good catch! I saw your question and was like, how did Wood miss it was Hunt and then let it be.
  13. Clear on the whole car and then ceramic on top of that. I am a little OCD.
  14. Hah, that's my saving's account!
  15. Thank you, sir. Had to send it away for a week to get wrapped so having withdrawals. But, should have it back this week and can finish breaking it in so I can finally step on it.
  16. You need to go talk to McCroskey.
  17. This comment leads me to believe you know actually nothing about racing. We are now all dumber for reading your post and I award you a 0.0. Please read here, and a lot of other places, and learn before “contributing.”
  18. I am a pretty big Hamilton fan and one of my best friends, who I race with, hates him and is a huge Verstappen fan. That said, I would have been fine if this was a straight up win by Max and even my good friend said, Hamilton got fucked, he won this race. I don’t think this is how any real fan wanted this season to end. I think FIA, due to DTS, tried to make this ending more dramatic intentionally. It actually tainted my view of F1.
  19. If you are ever in the Houston area, find a Kelley’s Country Cooking. Their CFS is killer.
  20. Train wreck is a solid word, imo. After watching that sans ankle biter, I go with fuck F1. It feels like they did that restart to create excitement and it’s probably DTS’s fault (that may be the worst thing that happened to this sport). But, as far as the pass, that seemed pretty legit. Hamilton seemed to leave the door not just open, but wide open. Max took advantage and was far enough ahead to claim the corner. I’m not a conspiracy theorist but that entire chain of events (restart snd wide open door) is really suspect and a bit of a turn off.
  21. Rewatching now starting before the last yellow flag. But, after the incident where Max parked on top of Hamilton, I read the rules pretty closely. They are very particular on who is doing the passing, whether they are on the outside or inside and how far up they are at corner entry and apex. Not saying if Hamilton had turned in (from what I recall he started then bailed) and made contact it wouldn’t be Max’s fault. But, if they were both out of the race, Max would have won anyway.
  22. I haven’t read all he replies yet but from the first time I watched it (while being distracted by an ankle biter), it looked like Lewis left the door open which allowed Max to late brake and push him out (which is also predictable for Max’s style). If he would have driven a more defensive line, this wouldn’t have happened there (it still may have later in the lap). This is from someone not a fan of Max and a fan of Hamilton.
  23. Completely different than the 991 so far. The 991 is loud (it does have an exhaust), it’s bumpy, it rattles, makes noises, shifts kinda hard. Basically, it feels like a race car. I might feel differently when I get the 992 on the track but so far, everything about it is much more refined. Its almost too nice (I may feel differently after the newness wears off). It’s not that loud (I will fix this), it shifts smoothly, it’s not that bumpy…it basically feels like a Carrera S with more power and better grip. Even though it’s bigger than the 991, it doesn’t feel it but it does feel lighter. It’s still in the break in period so I can’t step on it yet but you can feel a huge difference in grip and responsiveness and bite of the front end. I have a feeling the understeer issue of the 991 is now fixed. As far as the fit and finish, it is much, much nicer than the 991. It has all the technology, looks and feel of a luxury car. Then again, my 991 is pretty “base” and this one has just about every option you can put on one. For my build, I wouldn’t change a thing. The black metallic almost has a deep blue hue to it and looks awesome, IMO. It sitting next to my wife’s (no pics) jet black 991 looks completely different. Interior with the lights, stitching, etc is perfect for my tastes. The seats have good road feel but are still comfortable. The steering wheel moves a little too easy but you can still really feel the car grip. All that said, I love it so far but, unfortunately, manufacturers seem to be forced to move further and further from raw sport cars in order to remain competitive. This is another step in that direction and a much bigger step than from the 997 to 991. That being the case, the 991 and all it’s obnoxiousness isn’t going anywhere (even though it looks very dated next to the 992). For now, I guess you could say the 991 is the stripper/porn star you want to bang for the weekend and the 992 is the one you want to marry but I reserve the right to change my mind after taking it on the track. I have a feeling she is a lady on the streets and a freak in the sheets.
  24. Hah. It couldn’t go over 20mph at that point and was just going to the dealership from the truck. She’s home now. Will try to post more pics tonight but here she is.
