The old on3 scouting summary made this point. Moore was not nearly as productive as Lemon, despite Nelson throwing to both of them.

Looks like Lemon had 3x as many catches as Moore, with 13 TDs to Moore's 9, and averaged 7 yards less per catch. Is Moore not getting open or something? Dropping an insane amount of balls? Or is Lemon by far Nelson's favorite target? Combination of all of it?

Main point for me, is that I can't look at those stats alone and say "oh, pass on this guy" as the poster felt the information would support. I'd first ask how that offense is spreading the ball. Then you'd tell me there's a 5 star receiver on the other side with far more targets. Then I'm really interested.

It wasn't an issue for Moore's junior season fellow WR teammate Makai Lemon. Anyways Moore's senior season stats at Bosco listed on Maxpreps aren't impressive either other than YPC: https://www.maxpreps.com/ca/bellflower/st-john-bosco-braves/athletes/deandre-moore/football/stats/?careerid=epvl365edn0bb

I can see why certain IT posters like UTWuz & srtx86 feel that UT should pass on Moore.

So in 10 games, the guy had 9 touchdowns on just 26 offensive touches. 22 yards per reception? I dunno about UTWookie and srkdlkncoiwerx69 or whatever, but to me that's pretty fucking impressive.

So I guess the "Worrisome" part are the 483 total yards? Only 22 receptions? That could be for many reasons.

One tradeoff I've recently explored with fine-grind chili is not browning the meat, but going straight into the liquid with the raw meat.  You get a more consistent gravy.

It's definitely more appropriate for something akin to an enchilada sauce or chili dog topping.  I'm not sure if the lack of browning REALLY affects the flavor.  (It probably does.)  Smoking a giant meatball sounds like a pretty interesting idea, although it's probably not "browning" so much as a different flavor.

If I do fine grind I try to leave it in decent sized chunks when browning and cooking, then break it up more toward the end if it needs it. Have never tried it raw like that, but sounds interesting.

Apply with a paper towel.  Let dry.  Buff with a paper towel.  Wax on.  Wax off.

If you get something this won't take off, they make scrapers  under this brand name.  But if you keep up with it (a couple of times each week), this stuff is all you need.  It's $5 at WalMart and one bottle lasts us a year and some change.

    This stuff is the truth.

I think you're our pioneer here.  The big question will be how much smoke gets into the chili and is that too much?  I love leftover brisket or pork chili, but you're in new territory as far as I know.

I have done the "drip chili" or whatever it is before in my WSM. You basically smoke your grind in large chunks over your pot which catches the drippings. Once it's almost fully cooked you add it to the pot with all of your liquids and seasonings and veggies or whatever and break it up, then cook. You can leave the lid off for a bit and some smoke will get in. Personally, it was more smoke than I'd prefer in my chili.

Now, SOMETIMES when I make a chili that is half-grind half-chunks, or a beef stew, I'll part my roast I use for the chunks into 3-4"-ish chunks and cool-smoke them for a little bit before cutting them up and browning on the stove. That gets just a hint of smoke into your chili or stew that is perfect.

I'm not talking about an NFL TE.  I'm talking about an effective starting college TE.  Someone who doesn't get embarrassed by a 5'6" DB.  A 5 second 40 is fine for a college TE.  Epps problem wasn't that he just wasn't athletic enough - his problem was that he couldn't or wouldn't put in the work in the weight room and didn't play with any effort on the field.

A lot of decent college TEs who run around the 4.8 or lower.

McNair?  Yeah- that was the deal with Easterbee- he was the team Chaplin in New England and that’s how he got his foot in the door in Houston. And McNairs the worst kind as I’m pretty sure it’s a combination prosperity  gospel/snake handlers.
The entire Texans organization is over the top Christian fundamentalism nonsense. And I’m a pretty conservative believer and attend regularly so this isn’t like some sort of unhinged rant against Christianity from a militant atheist.

Easterby was brought in as your regular ole team chaplain/character coach guy, which wasn't too odd. But he was in the building at the time of Bob McNair's health problems and eventual passing, so rumor is that Cal and the McNairs personally leaned on him a lot, and that it took the relationship to a different level which ended in the Easterby gaining a little bit too much power.

So yes, not the greatest judge of things, Cal. I really do wonder his deep down, personal feelings about Texas football, and how connected he feels to it. Just doesn't seem to be as big as I'd have hoped.

I'm sure it was just a coincidence that most of their new players loved Jesus and were very vocal about it on social media.  I'm not even a Texans fan, but the Easterby saga was so strange that when I first heard about what was going on, I had to read more about it.

McCown, also a Jesus guy, was one of Easterby's biggest bro's, who he wanted to bring in as HC (luckily Nick seemed to stand up against that one).

As for drafting players because they're Christian or whatever, I don't really see that. It's not like Davis Mills is leading prayer outside of NRG every day. Now on the free agent side, there was a lot of talk of "The right guys," but a lot of players around the NFL are "really wanna thank god" types and such, so I'm not sure how much of that was going on.

But yes, Easterby had no business being in the position he was in, and that's a direct reflection of the McNairs.

Maybe telling Cal that Texas is God's team will help.
