  1. I did 5 weeks in Paris "school" through the accounting program in 2004 and there has been a shift for sure. Probably some of it was also some of my friends not giving a shit and acting like they were in East Texas that got us looks. I kept trying, but was unable to get reservations to Notre Dame, so we missed out on that. We did eat dinner one night on Ile St Louis, so we were able to see the outside. I think the viewing areas up top are back open now, but they were still closed when we went. The kids really liked: - We did a private tour in the Louvre which was useful. We went in the side door and hit the high points pretty quickly. It was expensive (possibly not worth it), but we said Fuck It and it worked out well. The 8 year old liked it. Probably a little heady for the 5 year old - The Pastries - The L'Orangerie Museum and Musee D'Orsay both had great kid rooms where they could do crafts and games. It was a great place for us to reset and have them do something creative in the museums. - The macarons - I had a friend of ours use AI to put together a scavenger hunt at the Louvre, L'Orangerie, Orsay and Rodin. That kept them somewhat engaged and they enjoyed that - the crepes - My 5 year old is super into dinosaurs, so we went to the Galerie de Paleontologie, next to the Natural History museum. It's an old place (and in Europe), so it is tight, but they have some great stuff and the kids enjoyed it. - As much of a pain as the Eiffel can be (especially with the new barriers around it), it was probably their favorite location. We just went to the first level and had a pizza up there for dinner. They loved it - The pastries - In Luxembourg Gardens, there is a big fountain where they could rent boats and push them around the fountain. There were a lot of people there and they really enjoyed it. Sometimes, it's the little things. - Their favorite activity in Paris was a family cooking class my friend recommended. It was a lot of fun for all of us and a really cool experience. It's hosted by an Italian grandmother and she has a translator. We made some tarts and madeleines. Just a delightful experience all around. - Oh, and the pastries Through some friends, we had some connections at Fat Tire Bike Tours and they were able to find someone to watch the kids one night, so my wife and I could go out. That was my favorite part.
  2. Any of you guys want another bite at the apple or nah?
  3. This is a wild stat. I understand that some of this is on Arch, holding the ball too long and making great being the enemy of good, but YIKES he was getting wrecked.
  4. He tries to go for the long ball way too much and needs to learn to take the shorter route. He is better though. He looked totally lost early in the year, so hopefully some good tweaking will get better performances. Also, not having to dodge a 300 pound defender every play would help.
  5. I kind of like the 2 point there. That way we know what we need going forward and not leave it to the end.
  6. Because we keep having 1st and 2nd and 20’s because of our OLine.
  7. Agree. 2nd and 9 is different than 2nd and 19
  8. Wingo is not good unless the ball is straight at him. Even then, it’s a tossup
  9. Arch is pouring it out today. He’s getting best up so bad
  10. Just an asskicking all over the field.
  11. Great pass Arch. Had to dodge a free rusher since our OL sucks.
  12. 340-108 in yards. So bad.
  13. QB draw? That’s the adjustment?
  14. The line play on all sides is the issue right now.
  15. Sack up guys. It’s one drive.
  16. WTF is Campbell doing? You are down 9. That’s two scores.
  17. Why did ISU go for 2 on their first touchdown and then for the PAT on their second? Now they’re down 2 scores. Either be aggressive with 2 pointers or don’t.
  18. This is just inviting the vampires into the house. It will not work out for the consumer and that sucks.
  19. We watched the first episode. About 5 minutes into the second, I said "I can't watch this anymore" and my wife agreed. It is just trying WAY too hard.
  20. We did, went in August. We had a great time. After 2 days, our 5 year old told my wife, "I thought they were talking weird, but now I know that's just the way they talk here." To see his world open in that moment was very cool and about 99% of the reason to bring the kids. If you're going with family, let me know and I can throw a couple of things your way. As far as the language, pretty much everyone you interact with speaks good English. Whenever we went anywhere, out of respect, we would always great them in French and try to ask what we needed in French as well ("quatre pains au chocolat, s'il vous plaît", etc), but as soon as there was a mispronunciation or wrong inflection, they would switch to English. It's just a generational thing for younger French people. They don't care.
  21. Got it. Then if you're someone who wants to hit the high points, for sure do it. I would caution against spending too much time in the Louvre or Orsay. They're both great, but you can really get lost in there and there is so much more to see. A few suggestions other than the obvious: - Like I said, the Rodin Museum is my favorite museum. Much more relaxed. You can also to L'Orangerie if you're into Monet/impressionists. It's a quick museum and near the most touristy area, so easy to fit in. Also, the Picasso is close to you in the Marais. I haven't been in a long time and don't remember it well, but take a look. - Do a walking food/wine tour. There are a bunch of options and they should take you to the markets, cheese shops, wine shops, chocolate shops, etc. A great way to get a feel for the city - Grab sandwiches or bread/cheese and spend some time relaxing in a park. Luxembourg Gardens is the my favorite - Make sure to eat as many pastries as you can. They just hit different there. Also, for gelato, Bethillion on Ile Saint Louis is still the best.
  22. Season 2 is out. We've watched the first 3 and they're hilarious.
