  1. Changes + New Looks Set to Assist Texas Offense in Starkville (Wednesday AM) - CJ Vogel
  2. And it’ll likely happen again (albeit, to a lesser extent). Kirby schemes against Sark well, and I have no doubt he’ll do so again. Sark runs what he runs and it’s why top defensive-minded coaches have done well against him at Texas.
  3. No, he wasn’t terrible. But I wouldn’t say he played well. Although, I don’t think many QBs would have with how bad our OL was.
  4. Bobby: Injury news incoming. More later. Per CJ Vogel (Tuesday 5:15 PM) Hearing Georgia is the targeted return date for Taaffe from his thumb surgery. That would mean he would be sidelined for Mississippi State and Vanderbilt, then have the bye week to get back to speed for UGA in Athens on November 15.

  6. Arch hasn’t played well in any road game yet. I don’t believe it starts this week. I bet Texas loses.
  7. Officially in last place in the conference. No shot to make the SEC Tournament now. One game left in the season. Please let it be over.
  8. I'm no where near as confident as you regarding Vanderbilt. It's probably more likely Texas goes 1-4 over the remainder of the regular season than it is 3-2. Without hesitation, I'd take 8-4. A 3-2 finish over our next five would be downright great when I think about this as an expected value calculation. There's a material chance 1-4 or 2-3 occurs. 5-0 isn't happening, 4-1 is highly unlikely, and 3-2 seems no more likely than 2-3. 3-2 is the best outcome of the likely outcomes.
  9. I agree. MSU has scored 34, 24, 63, 38, 34, 9 (road loss to A&M), and 21 in their seven games thus far. Texas' offense is going to need to show up. Otherwise, we will absolutely lose this game.
  10. 11. Monday: Bobby A preview: "What needs to be done? Some possible answers include a change at quarterback and/or a change of the play caller. Most likely, neither of those are going to happen."
  12. Currently 3-11-1 (1-7), 15th (3 points) of 16 in the SEC. They'll finish 5-11-1 (3-7) at best. While improbable, they'd have to win the final two matches to gain the final seed in the SEC tournament (since A&M sits at 7 points and beat us). I guess it could happen, as Ole Miss is even worse than us in conference right now, and OU is in 11th. However, I believe CDC already knows whether he's going to fire Kelly, or not. I doubt making the conference tourney and losing in the first or second round really makes a material difference here.
  13. Friday: Bobby
  14. We know at least one position group that should be heavily targeted in the portal.
  15. Recruiting Friday: Percentages on remaining top targets (7:34am CST): Gerry
  16. Let's reiterate to everyone what you do in this type of situation: Hopefully, Brooks' situations made way for similar expectation setting and education among Texas athletes. Brooks still would have gotten arrested without talking given what the police report showed, but it would have looked way better for plenty of people/orgs involved.
  17. Off to Lexington | What Must Travel (Thursday AM) - Vogel, OTF
  18. From Bobby's write up this AM: One recruiting note: Linebacker Braylon Hodge from Cherry Creek HS in Colorado (same HS as Gunnar Helm) officially decommitted from Michigan State last week. He then took an official visit to Oregon this past weekend. He is slated to also see Michigan and Texas. The Texas visit is currently set for Nov. 22 for the Arkansas game. While it would be natural to expect Hodge to make a decision after he takes all of his visits, he actually has already seen Texas once this semester. So don’t be surprised if he makes a decision in the next couple of weeks. Cherry Creek won the 5A state title last year and they’re undefeated again this season. Hodge has 90 tackles on the season and recorded a career-high 21 tackles in a single game against Pine Creek. https://247sports.com/player/braylon-hodge-46156503/
  19. Thursday: Bobby Bobby confirms that Hutson "will miss some time." Yesterday's write up intimated as such.
  20. He didn’t. OTF said it was during practice. Doesn’t sound like he’ll be back quickly. “Texas will be without starting center Cole Hutson when on the road this weekend in Lexington. Hutson sustained an injury in practice and very quickly was given the inactive designation. The expectation is Connor Robertson will start at center for the Horns this weekend. Connor Stroh also appears on the injury report on the offensive line. As does Xavier Filsaime in the back end of the defense.”
  21. We all knew he’d opt out but somehow I’m less optimistic than I was prior.
  22. Man, Nicole really is branching out from Rainey and lying low. But still…
  23. On the Injury Report Tonight… (Wednesday noon): OTF Goosby? Campbell? Wilson? Who else got hurt against OU?
