Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
Heard was a top-100 recruit as a dual-threat QB. Swoopes started out higher before being re-ranked and reclassified to an athlete. Gilbert was QB3 (after Barkley and Shepard) in his class. Sam outperformed all of them combined at Texas. However, Heard was the real non-factor in his career. At least we'll have Gilbert at Nebraska and Swoopes' 18-wheeler as good memories during a horrible time for Texas football. Anyways, Sam is a Longhorn legend: fourth-most all-time in wins, three bowl wins, and plenty of other accolades.

This makes sense. I was mainly talking about their recruiting ranking/perceived impact they would have vs. the actual results they generated at Texas. I agree with the premise that Sam's production certainly outweighed his skill, but he was a perfectly fine QB at Texas. Had he had a better roster and coaching staff around him, Texas would have had some serious potential.

Ummm, what? Squints, Heard, Swoopes... There are multiple more overrated QBs in the past 15 years, let alone players, to have ever taken a snap at Texas. I'm not advocating for Ehlinger as some phenom, but he was a very productive player for us during what otherwise could have been another horrendously shitty couple of years at Texas during an already horrible stretch historically for the program. The dude willed us to victory despite a myopic egomaniac as his HC, glaring other roster inefficiencies, and has only gotten better in the NFL (although, he did just get cut). Sure, many here have an inflated opinion of his skillset at Texas, but the dude should be celebrated for many reasons.

Nah, I got y'all: If Texas puts the hammer down on Ohio State I think it might impress some of these recruits. We gonna run all of CFB and win the playoff this season.

That won't happen this year. Carr's not a runner. However, that doesn't mean he'll be good at all. I just don't believe he'll do much for that offense with his rushing ability.

2025-2026 Boston Red Sox Off-season Thread: Please Breslow, Money Gun Go Brrrr
Yep. Maybe due to the massive ass kicking the day before and the series win. Either way, one big issue with the team this year has been inconsistent offense. But that's baseball, to a degree.

$9.95 worth every penny
(OTF) Site Announcement By Bobby Burton Rule no. 1 of business. Never stop improving, ever. ** OTF is proud to announce that we are adding new voices to the channel and the site for the 2025 football season while simultaneously expanding the current roles of several key contributors. Please join me in welcoming former Longhorn players Marcus Myers and Will Matthews to our weekly programming. Will, who is the sideline analyst for the Longhorn Radio Network, is joining us every Thursday morning to talk about the upcoming game. Marcus will be joining the crew twice a week, including the Thursday Night Livestream with Rod and Coach Bob Shipley. I’m happy and proud to say that that brings us to six former Longhorn players - Brian Robison, Tony Hills, Stevie Lee, Marcus, Will, and of course, Rod Babers - who are now contributing to OTF regularly. We are also adding Amanda Atwell to our staff. Amanda is a UT journalism graduate, a former college athlete, and a lifelong Longhorn fan. She has spent several years in the broadcast business serving as sports director in Harlingen and Amarillo before moving to a different role at WFAA in Dallas. Amanda will be hosting our Tuesday and Wednesday night Livestreams alongside CJ Vogel and Jeff Howe. She is perhaps best known in the Longhorn community for her current podcast Moving Goalposts that she co-hosts with everyone’s (least) favorite Aggie Billy Liucci. Additionally, Coach Bob Shipley will be expanding his work with us this football season, as will Coach Bryan Erwin. Coach Shipley will not only be appearing on two weekly Livestreams with Rod and CJ, but he’ll also be appearing weekly on a high school football show, as well as our Post-Game Grades on Sunday. Coach Shipley and Coach Erwin will also join me on Monday’s Lunch with the Coaches, and Coach Erwin will talk with us on Coffee & Football each Friday morning. We’re also going to do something a little different. We’re adding a high school show. Long-time high school expert Carl Padilla and former Aledo state champion Coach Tim Buchanon will be joining Shipley and Coffee & Football host Blake Munroe for a new weekly show that focuses on high school football. ** One specific programming note: We are moving The Winning Drive from its 3pm slot on Mondays and Thursdays to the evenings on Mondays and Thursdays. ** I would also like to take this time to mention that these additions come largely because of our continued increase in viewership over the past two years. The growth we have seen has been amazing. And that growth has naturally attracted marquee advertisers. We would like to thank new advertisers Vonlane, Tito’s Vodka, Bingham’s Bourbon, Tecovas, Prize Picks, Seat Geek, and Hays City Store, for joining OTF this season. And we would also like to thank those who are returning that have helped us along the way, including Faust Distributing, Flight from Yuengling, The Loewy Law Firm, Duck Camp, Hargrove Roofing, South Point Dodge, The Co-Op, Austin Underground, Austin Orthopedic Institute, Advanced Pain Care, Longhorn Wealth Management, BKCW Insurance, Rogue Shoppe, My Perfect Franchise, the 40 Acres Collection, Mark Saunders of Allstate, and Laura Baker of Keller Williams. Again, OTF and our increased coverage of the Longhorns would not be possible without the combination of viewership/subscribers and our sponsors. We hope we bring you a product for the 2025 football season that everyone enjoys, respects and feels is true to the Longhorn community at large. First and foremost, we want to be informative while giving folks a real sense of what it means to like and follow the Longhorns. Those will always be our priorities. Thank you for everything. Here's to a great 2025 season! Hook'Em!

Texas adds on-field sponsor logos for 2025
Texas Inks Lucrative Official Cardiovascular Supplement of Texas Athletics, Logos to Playing Surface (Monday) By CJ Vogel 17 minutes ago AUSTIN, Texas – What started as a University of Texas Health Science Center research initiative has evolved into a nationally recognized wellness brand — and now, Humann is taking its relationship with Texas Athletics to the next level. The Austin-based company has been named the Official Cardiovascular Supplement of Texas Athletics under a new multi-year agreement arranged through Longhorn Sports Properties. As part of the deal, Humann’s branding will appear on athletic playing surfaces across campus beginning this August. “This collaboration captures the spirit of what makes the University of Texas special,” said Chris Del Conte, Vice President and Athletics Director. “We wanted any brand displayed in our facilities to reflect the UT story. Humann began through Texas research, has supported our athletes for years, and now helps people everywhere improve their heart health and overall wellness.” The expanded relationship underscores a shared vision between two homegrown institutions. For Texas Athletics, it’s another example of performance innovation shaping the student-athlete experience. For Humann, it’s an opportunity to showcase how better blood flow contributes to both peak competition and everyday vitality. For the first time in Texas Athletics history, another brand’s logo will appear alongside the Longhorn logo across every field and court, including: Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium (football) Moody Center (basketball, beginning the ’26-’27 season) UFCU Disch-Falk Field (baseball) Red & Charline McCombs Field (softball) Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center (swimming & diving) Gregory Gymnasium (volleyball) Texas Tennis Center (tennis) Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field (track & soccer) Texas Longhorns Boathouse (rowing) Charles Alan Wright Fields at the Berry M. Whitaker Complex (beach volleyball) UT Golf Club (men’s & women’s golf)

I bet they go to the portal at LB again. Take another hybrid type (or two) if Spence leaves a year early since Moore also graduates.
