  1. It's a nice reminder that when ND needs SC to do something, they will drop the ball one way or another.
  2. Miami called timeout with 2 seconds left so they could beat 3-8 VTech by 17 instead of 10. Little did they know abosultely no one will be talking about them Monday. Is Duke somehow still alive for the ACCCG?
  3. Every time I turn that game on SC either commits a proper turnover or gifts Oregon a 1st down with a penalty. Should we stop looking?
  4. Clear PI on Oregon on 3rd & goal in a game where the refs are/were calling everything. SC of course misses the FG.
  5. OU's win over Michigan seemed ho hum at the time. But if Michigan upsets anOSU again then it might drag both of them into the CFP.
  6. And while it was convincing win, Miami got its first score against Syracuse with 3 min remaining in the first half
  7. I'll give you ASU and UT. VT is 3-8 and Baylor is fringe .500. So, two upsets among the bottom 5? And IIRC Texas A&M played and beat the entire bottom 5. I would guess that this year is worse for your Mendoza line. In the recent era the top SECw teams visiting the SECe teams like @USCe, UK, was the danger zone. Spurrier even beat Saban once at USCe.
  8. If that was the case then the SEC would be an upset prone conference with quite a few OOC wins from the lower ranks. Neither is true.
  9. The SEC is very polarized this year, I think your game vs UF wa the only draw drop upset. Models like the Colley Matrix reward playing teams that won 20 and 3 games and don't reward a slee of 7-5 teams in the middle. That is Oregon's problem right now, they have played a large block of .500 teams and lost to Indiana. Beating USC and Washington will help although those teams will finish with three or four losses.
  10. Not possible. If Michigan finishes with two losses then they must have beaten Ohio State and knocked the Buckeyes out of the conference championship game. H-H tiebreakers are SC > UM > OSU. likewise if Trojans are 10-2 then they beat the Ducks, so SC is in the ccg against IU.
  11. It's also a fiction to equate 9 games in the SEC with 9 other games in the SEC. As of now Texas A&M has played five conference teams with a losing record. (Best conf opps have been Missouri and LSU). Add Sanford UTSA and Utah State. They are lucky we have rebounded or they would be heading into the Texas bowl having played nobody yet of course locked up a berth in the conference championship game. The big two conferences have only themselves to blame if that's a problem. They poached the best teams from the other conferences. They bloated the playoffs so there 10-2 teams could have extra Mulligans. So I don't want to hear from an engineer that hates his own system.
  12. Yet, our computer ranking is higher than the CFP placed us, and above Oregon. None.
  13. 24 team playoff! The explanation is that a lot of those win percentage graphs are crude. The only way you could be that big an underdog at 14-10 is it you were averaging one yard per play but somehow scored 10 points off unforced fumbles.
  14. Did that make the nightly news at the time? If that happened today, toy sword or not, the social media blitz would force the local authorities to arrest the royal guardsman or whatever he is. SCe got serious a generation ago hiring Holtz & Spurier. It takes more than serious in that spot though; #2 in a state without a huge talent base, lots of nearby competitors.
  15. Who is the SEC's best win, besides others from the SEC? Is that team any good? Do they deserve to be in the CFP? If that team was the best win of the entire conference then is the conference really proven?
  16. Which posed more danger?
  17. Pitt/USC/Navy. Of the three I would guess that two will finish near the top of their conf.
  18. Yes that's how it works
  19. In HS they said the 'only right way' was to fall so your body blocks anyone else from recovering. A LOT of players bend at the waist and try to scoop it.
  20. These F'ups usually take place on the road. Even Saban dropped one to Spurrier. This was a home game for A&M.
  21. The computers have ND's schedule now about 15th. IT will surely end in the top 25.
  22. No this year is unusually polarized. The only top vs bottom upset I can think of is your loss to UF. Or it would have been unusual before. Maybe NIL has destroyed the annual #1 Southern Cal @ unranked Oregon State WTF!? tradition.
  23. That's the story of your new conference. Your great wins are all against yourself.
  24. 76 total yards in 2nd half !?
  25. Navy is our good win. Nebraska's last min win over Cincy in week 1 was about to turn into a good win. Now it is just a win.
