  1. That location looks horrible for Caesars. I'll be there Wednesday night so I'll check it out. To be honest, the new room at PH looks great (on an upstairs level) but I never played there too much back in the day when it was on the main floor of the casino. I'll check that one out as well this weekend.
  2. We had one on a couple of years ago on the bay rod out at the jetties and had to chase it literally over an hour. We got a good look at him two or three times (he was prolly a 1/3 bigger than that one we caught Sunday) but he finally wore down the leader and broke us off. My son was devastated but deep down that is what drives us to fish more. Something similar happened to me when I was prolly younger than 10 and still remember losing that fish! (whatever it was)
  3. https://www.khou.com/article/news/local/towing-incident-north-loop-ella-boulevard/285-fd5ec073-5c93-4e28-be5e-a05927542c2b “I don’t know whose idea it was to pull the car from the back like that. Normally, on a chain you pull a car from the front but that’s my only thought. Why did they pull it from the back, especially on the freeway?” Collins said. According to HPD, neither driver was given a citation for how they towed the car. However, the man in the blue car was arrested for an unrelated out-of-state warrant.
  4. Not my pic but they have been spotted again and posted on the Instabook.
  5. Agree with this. Was there last Fall and while the place is pretty gorgeous it was devoid of people. Granted it was mid-day, mid-week but it was empty. It is not convenient to other strip properties as well except for Resorts World and CC (not that you would want to go there).
  6. Oh man, I couldn't imagine a foul hooked jack 😂 on light tackle.
  7. Youngest was able to sneak away on Mothers day (not my concern now). Figured we should be able to find some jacks roaming outside the jetties. Pelicans were feasting but it was hard for us to zero in on any. His persistance paid off after hours worth if casting and got him a good one. Good 30 minute tussle on pretty heavy gear.
  8. No, not that I have noticed.
  9. Ha! No, but the grackles certainly do when she’s out and about. They no likey.
  10. Flounder meeting Pelican for the first time.
  11. So there has been some official Flamingo sightings in Jones Bay/West Bay Galveston near Harbor Walk posted on Facebook last week and sure enough driving home one afternoon this week one of them flew right over me on 45 flying from East to West towards Jones Bay. Yes, I am sure they were not Spoonbills. The wife showed me the facebook post as I said "they are obviously spoonbills" then after looking at the pics said "well I'll be damned, they are def not spoonbills". Apparently the few flamingos that showed up on Bolivar in 2023 may have stuck around since then. I'll probably be out in the boat this weekend so I'll try to find them and take some pics.
  12. I had a Scoter in my canal this Winter in Galveston. 1st one I have seen since moving there (5years). Took me a while to identify using the Googler but was 100% sure after reading about them. They make a very distinct sound taking off from the water. Saw him/her a couple of times but not sure when it eventually went back North.
  13. Flounder. Born NYE 2024. We got her at 9 weeks and now 4 months old. Training her to be my boat house cat to keep the birds from nesting and making a mess. Slowly getting her used to the outdoors but she is going to be a natural of course. Already wants to go out all the time.
  14. Your right. It must have been 7's he had. I just remember full house on top and trips on bottom. I was a little delirious afterwards plus the exhaustion, I should have gotten up a couple hours earlier.
  15. Pretty quick call. Unfortunately I whiffed. The aggressor didn't have that great a hand but of course scooped (we ran it twice). 5's full of Q's up top and Trip 5's on bottom. It was 1:00am and I was barely awake to begin with so I took the L and went home.
  16. 5 card PLO - AhAdKh5h6d - would you call a twice potted preflop raise that has you covered (one other already all in for less)? I'll leave the amounts and stack sizes out for now. You gamblin' or no?
  17. Gonna post here since we dont have the 2025 thread yet. January TS was not on my bingo card. Guestimating 10” of rain so far today here in Galveston. Went from 3’ foot low tides mid morning to about 3’ high currently. Crazy stuff.
  18. True about the residue. Had a roomate in college that would cook pasta at least two times a week and never wash it. Within a few weeks water would not even come out of the holes anymore. Was disgusting but par for the course with his cleaning habits.
  19. Makes sense. Thanks.
  20. Sorry, never seen this before. What is it?
  21. Wordle 1,283 2/6 🟩🟩🟩⬛⬛ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Been on an eagle drought for a while.
  22. Braved the cold snap and took my son to the jetties on Sunday. Wasn’t too bad when the sun would peek through. Managed three bulls on cut sand trout right at the boat cut in about an hour.
  23. Was looking for this one and finally found it. Crazy! (not my redfish so I don’t have the story).
  24. Love opening up the reds to see whats in there. Never know whats gonna turn up. This one was feasting on mini stone crabs before my shrimp.
  25. Was able to get out for a quick evening wade yesterday. Man I love October! Many fish caught, 28” red and 19” spec kept for the table.
