  1. Tech won't be the one sent here, TCU is the team right now that I could see falling to that 13-14 seed range pairing up with us at 3-4. While I think we could handle TCU in Austin there is just something about giving a team a 2nd chance that creates new life and randomness. Tech offensively is too good to falter down the stretch. I think they end up #9-12 in seeding. Texas can make it all a mute point if they handle business. Based on what transpired this weekend Texas has a very real shot at the #2 overall seed. Arkansas has #1 wrapped up. Oklahoma State and Baylor don't have the arms to upset a regional IMO. Baylor will likely get sent west to Stanford or Arizona and Oklahoma State will likely be a punching bag for Arkansas or Vanderbilt in their regionals.
  2. Oklahoma and Baylor isn't all that relevant other than it would likely put Baylor outside the top 50 in RPI and put their at-large hopes on life support if they were to lose 2/3 or get swept. I just hope TCU and Tech play well enough that we don't get paired up in a super. Rather face somebody different than partake in a rematch. Save the potential rematches for Omaha. Oklahoma State and Baylor both wanting to get the game in is probably what it came down to
  3. Well TCU wins 6-4 but got outhit 10-5 in the final game of their series and pretty much got their ass whipped for the entire series. All I know is if I face TCU, I’m throwing a lefty with a helluva curveball because they couldn’t hit it if you told them it was coming.
  4. I don’t know if Jim has it in him but TCU needs a speech.
  5. That was never the question, the Big 12 would have likely gotten 2 but now Texas might be the only one in the top 8 depending on how Tech and TCU finish.
  6. TCU’s season is hitting the fan right now and I am here for it. ULM already up 2-0 in game 3. ULM has yet to trail in the series going for the sweep
  7. It’s very minor but that is how the RPI works. You gain RPI points when the teams you played win and vice versa
  8. TCU now down 13-8, ULM gets 4 back in the 6th
  9. I was just saying even coming into the weekend Kansas probably had a slightly better shot than Kansas State. Both would have had to win the tournament regardless. KSU’s RPI was irreparable.
  10. Probably benefits us for Kansas to finish the sweep today. Kansas has a shot to finish in the RPI top 50 which would give us 3 more wins against a Q1 opponent. Kansas State is dead, have to win the tournament. Kansas actually has a slim chance at an at large with their RPI currently sitting at 56 with Tech still to play. Good news for us is everybody around us is losing giving us a real shot at the #2 seed.
  11. I don’t know much about any of the players except the names of several of the Texas players and I know who is good for Texas. Know nothing really about any players for other programs so if the girl on 1st for Okie State was slow and someone they would usually PR for... Man that makes it worse
  12. Probably right, but there at least has to be a play at the plate IMO on a play like that. Just doing a disservice to the competition
  13. I get softball isn’t supposed to be baseball, and I’m not advocating for that, part of what makes softball unique is that it’s the only women’s sport I believe that isn’t directly like it’s male counterpart. That being said I think we can all agree that there is something wrong when a runner on 1st can score STANDING UP on a simple drop 3rd strike throwing error down the line in which the RF was backing up the throw.
  14. As someone who doesn’t watch softball much because of what I just watched. Is there seriously not any discussion at all about moving the base paths back a little?
  15. With D1's latest projection Omaha would look like this: (1) Arkansas vs (8) Arizona (4) Mississippi State vs (5) TCU (2) Vanderbilt vs (7) Notre Dame (3) Texas vs (6) Tennessee And if any of those teams were to lose nothing would change except just swapping out the team that wins the super instead of one to the top 8 seeds.
  16. The Big 12 won't end up with more teams in Omaha than the SEC this year, they are too deep. I could see each having 3 with ours being the obvious and there's being any mix of FLA/VAN/ARK/TEN/MSST. Only team that should be behind Texas is Tennessee. Arkansas and Mississippi State are legit but I believe we can hang with both. The Vandy suck fest is real though doesn't seem to matter what they do, every site just says "don't care Rocker and Leiter". Those two are the reason though that it would benefit Texas to not be the #3 seed. Don't want any part of Rocker or Leiter in Omaha until the championship and right now we'd face them game 2 in Omaha potentially.
  17. This is a HOT take, mainly because the only person here that is blind is the guy that hasn't been watching a 38-12 baseball team that is currently projected to be the #3 national seed
  18. Unrelated to the series. I am really surprised Jared Southard hasn’t gotten more opportunities. His stuff looks really good, he looked great against Okie State. Walks are a little up there but not any worse than some other guys that still get opportunities like Justin Eckhardt. You look at Justin’s numbers compared to Jared’s and I’m actually baffled that Jared hasn’t gotten a mid week start or more opportunities out of the pen
  19. Depends on how bad the 4 seed is. In 2018 we got Texas Southern who is horrible. Some years you can get a school who has a good arm that you have to exert a little to beat. Just depends on the draw
  20. Big win, likely secured a top 8 seed and gave ourselves a chance at top 4 or 5. Bullpen going into the tournament should be Witt, Cole, and Nixon as your ride or dies. Wenzel and Gordon should be short leash matchup guys and if by some fortune you are kicking the shit out of somebody you throw everyone else
  21. Well today we learned we have a 3 man bullpen going into the tournament. Glad we found it out now when it isn’t going to cost us
  22. Texas and TCU would share the regular season title and Texas would be the #1 seed in the tourney
  23. Trey seems to be finding his groove
  24. Precisely the difference between a good pitcher and a great pitcher though.
