  1. Ok it’s just Palo Duro sized then
  2. Remember when people said Sark was the QB whisperer?
  3. there is a Grand Canyon sized chasm between God of Football and where he is now. He is likely the worst starter on the roster right now.
  4. I'm not sure that Caldwell would be any better than Arch, but I am sure he wouldn't be any worse...
  5. thoracic outlet syndrome. if this is that, things are gonna get a lot worse before they get better
  6. The only coherent logic I could see for him being a groyper is if he hated Kirk for supporting Israel. Of course, these terminally online, irony poisoned, “did it for the lulz” types aren’t really concerned with logical consistency
  7. Best I can tell there is not enough evidence to say he is either a groyper or a leftist yet. The information is too contradictory thus far.
  8. Hasan Piker. Not as big, but tapped into the younger left.
  9. yeah, perhaps Stroh was always supposed to let his man beat him across his face while he fell on the ground. Just like coach drew it up!
  10. this should be everyone's reaction
  11. My biggest concern is there seems to be an across the board lack of attention to detail on offense. It is hard to say what is causing it at each specific individual, but when it is happening across position groups it becomes a worrying trend. QBs with inconsistent throwing motions, OL taking bad steps and not knowing how to handle basic stunts, WRs running banana routes and dropping the ball, RBs fumbling and missing the right gap, TEs not kicking out the right edge defender, etc. I think it points to Sark not being able to juggle both the duties of offensive coordinator and head coach simultaneously. Perhaps there is just too much for him to do to ensure the quality is there across the side of the ball he takes the lead on.
  12. I know you said you won't go through box scores, so you'll just have to trust me then that we have not been good against teams in the top 50 of rushing defense for the Sark/Flood tenure
  13. still with that schtick, eh?
  14. Pass blocking yes, I disagree on run blocking though. Against most of the better teams on our schedule the last 4 years we've struggled to run the ball at even an average level
  15. I'm getting there too. Especially when the same issues have been persistent across his tenure: IOL losing track of blitzers and stunts, pullers not finding the right guy, lots of false starts and holding. Those have been a theme year after year regardless of experience level. I will say though, after a rewatch the biggest culprit for the run game being blown up a lot was terrible execution by the TEs. The OL did their job on a good 5-10 of the runs that got stuffed, it was just a TE either totally missing a block or getting thrown into the hole the RB was trying to hit. Not sure there is any benefit to going big in 12 or 13 personnel if they can't win against SJSU edges...
  16. well, its a lot easier to enjoy wins when it doesn't feel like your team is punching themselves in their own balls repeatedly
  17. Wisner seemed somehow slower than last year, which is a worrying sign for game one
  18. If it wasn’t intentional, than Framber wasn’t sorry it happened at the least
  19. At some point you can’t just say ‘the probability says to go for it’ when conventional game theory stops applying. Perhaps the fact that we’ve been very poor at short yardage situations for five years should start to factor in? Perhaps the psychological benefit of seeing points on the board should be factored in? Or that we have an elite defense that doesn’t need the offense to score a ton of points? I recognize there are counters to this argument, but we’re not simulating a football game we’re playing one. There comes a point where you can’t say ‘the decision was the right one, the play call was the problem’ when it has happened dozens of times. There is clearly a fundamental problem that changes the probabilities.
  20. It doesn’t concern you that we appear condemned to always be close to the mountaintop but never reach it? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not gonna disdain a 10-2 season after a decade of mediocrity but at some point it would be nice to have the conviction that we might actually win it all.
  21. Until proven otherwise I am just going to assume that we will lose to the teams with the same talent level as us.
  22. Our ceiling is limited by Sark. If he isn’t going to figure out how to score in the red zone or learn to take the points in year five, he probably isn’t going to. Because of this our ceiling is losing to the best teams on the schedule. What is quite worrying is how our QBs simply don’t improve in their footwork and mechanics year over year. Ewers was the same inefficient and inconsistent thrower in year 3 as in year 1 and Arch looks like has regressed in that matter thus far.
  23. Someone needs to explain the Arighetti hype to me. All he ever seems to do is get shelled.
  24. He’s always made stupid faces
  25. I don’t disagree with anyone upset about the noaa cuts, but haven’t we learned that despite that the forecasts and warnings were made, they were just not heeded? This seems like more of a local government failure at this point. Not that I even feel like assigning blame at this point, a very tragic situation with a very small margin of error for making decisions. I know that people could’ve done better and they will have to live with that. I just hope lessons are learned and that those affected can find peace and comfort. I know the former might be too much to ask for.
