  1. Looks like we’re 25 . Several teams in the teens lost today. Best 3 loss team?
  2. Yes, and the possibility is still there to finish 6 and 7.. slim, but I think every game comes down to the last minute.
  3. I think he was always here next year unless he had a losing season. I think we all got suckered by the sugar bowl, and cdc extended him. There are most likely 2 losses left, and we will see a full three seasons worth. To me the question is what is the standard. Average of 5 losses per year and ugly awful super close wins, no killer instinct, and 4 star players making dumb decisions should not be our standard.
  4. He has injuries as a built in excuse, unless we lose out. I agree 5 and 7 puts him on the hot seat. I think 6 and 6 with a bowl loss puts him on the hot seat as well. We mess around, watch urban go to SC or some other place and next year is toms last year.
  5. To be serious about getting rid of Tom, you need a Route 66 or a freedom bowl massacre, or a Kansas style embarrassment. I don’t think this is it, but it could be on the horizon. Maybe after a couple more losses and a big loss to end the season.
  6. Worst and luckiest 9 and 0 team in history. Quite possible. Coaches are stupid. Anybody watching could tell Baylor had momentum to the nth degree. Patterson has to make the call after the miracle catch to go for 2 and end the game. There is no down side to the decision. He is the underdog. If he loses, no big deal. His team was on the ropes.
  7. TCu offense has nothing, maybe they intercept a pass and run it back for td
  8. Time for some referee help for baylor
  9. This is so easy, the game should be within 7 points, but I think the news is the kstate coach is for real. His only problem is getting out ahead of us by 3 tds in 4th quarter.
  10. Overall, this year feels a little like 1984. Coming off a very successful year, great potential at QB, great athletes all over the field. Huge non conference games, those were wins over Auburn and Penn State, and the cracks really start to show against OU. Then, it was a tie, doubt crept in about the coaching staff. That staff lost the players completely. I remember reading the players voted against going to the Freedom Bowl, and it showed, the 55 to something loss. This team could easily go 2 and 2, even with a win tomorrow, and finish with a big bowl loss. Would cdc put up with 2 more years of Herman, as admin. let Fred? I think the big difference is the portal. I don’t think 4 and 5 star players are gonna stick around for inferior coaching. They expect to go to the NFL. How is that possible with this coaching staff?
  11. About the arrogance factor. If the coaches believe the team can impose its will, and it doesn’t matter that opponents know with a 74 per cent certainty, what is coming, then look at results. Texas is 19 in total offense, at about 476 yards a game. Draw the line here and see the average for the last 4 games. If the average for the last 4 games is higher, I suppose there is some merit to the arrogance. I suppose it’s possible the coaches think TCU was the only team left on the schedule to play defense? Of course this arrogance claim could all be b.s and the truth is we have coaches that are not capable of mixing things up? I have no clue about this staff.
  12. I see mv finishes regular season at new Boston this week..either 4,2 or 3,3 in district.
  13. Is it really that absurd for cdc to get rid of the entire 120th ranked of 130 defensive coaching staff? Seriously, are there any negatives? Is there a modern day joe Jamail watching Herman’s back? I always thought that was the only thing that prevented someone from making Brown do the right thing. I have confidence cdc has the professionalism to step up and do the right thing. Less than a month away. Don’t wait for a bowl game.
  14. Nope, before they let off the gas kstate was ahead of OU by 3 or 4 tds, and they got the benefit of a bye week, by having an easy game against ku. They will come out sharp against our less than sharp warriors. Kstate in a nail biter, 4 points.
  15. great job Shane, but he needed 556 and 4 TDs.
  16. Except that Kstate will win in Austin to remain one of the two-loss teams. And if TCU is down to a 2nd or 3rd string QB, they lose to Baylor.
  17. Kstate is on a roll and can slip in there. Their schedule doesn't look too rough to me. After they steamroll in Austin, it seems downhill from there. Who do they play? Don't have a clue. I guess Baylor since they would have to do a major crash to avoid getting in.
  18. I think he went full ag regarded and added the spring game.
  19. I want to know what happens when we play a series with 4 down linemen. But I don’t think the dc has figured out how we could possibly do that.
  20. What if shearer and johnie Johnson didn’t stop OU qb Thomas Lott on 4th down and 1 at the 5? Defensive play of the decade for us. It took two all Americans to stop Lott. Shearer hit him low, Johnson hit high. Boom., broke a 6 year drought for us.
  21. Wow! This guy with the winner, but I do want to add that there is a common thread among most of the coaches we hired. They have a strong streak of hard-headedness, to the extreme. Fred lucked into his decision to put Earl in the I, and went 11-1 the first year. That decision went to his head, because from then on Fred thought he knew enough to run the offense. Fred did not tolerate the idea of having an OC take control of the offense. Fred was a defensive guy, so much that he put the best athletes on defense, to the detriment of the offense. Another example of arrogance, the famous QB draw call against, Alabama, January 1, 1982. There was an argument about who took credit for the call. Fred took the credit. We were #2 in the final poll because Robert Brewer went to the line on 4th down and called timeout. Sideline conversation ensued and the call came from nowhere. Not one Texas fan had seen anything like that call-probably ever. Best call since Street to Peschel. So, by the time we got to January 1, 1984 Fred had the best defense in college football in probably 5 years, but didn't have a RB who could hit the hole and didn't have a QB consistent enough to rely on. Fred essentially flipped the coin and decided on Rick McIvor because of one game, the 45-13 beatdown of aggy, and we lost 10-9. If Moerschell had been the QB, we would have easily scored three TDs, because Moerschell was a running threat as a well as a decent passer. The punt return fumble should have never mattered. At the exact time Fred was flaming out, in 1986, the ags came to town with signs on their cars, "keep Fred". -and of course aggy was cheating fEd ex style. Mackovic- hard-headed- just like Herman -only coach offense-just like Herman. Mack Brown did the unthinkable-he decided to coach less. "Let Vince be Vince" was more powerful than any detailed coaching advice ever. It didn't matter that we had 30 future NFL prospects . We needed a once in a lifetime QB with the confidence that his coach had his back. Hire a coach who has a little less arrogance that it is his way or the highway, and maybe we can get an improvement.
  22. Ash landed here for a reason. If he is the real deal, he can prove it. Give him interim dc title, and let him interview for permanent job.
  23. Tom is obviously too Mackian for this situation. TO was probably best man at Toms wedding or something. There needs to be an adult in the room to make the objective call. That man, CDC, will make the call, or will he? Say we end up 9-4; no b12 champ game, finish 1 in missed tackles, but there is a tiny sliver of improvement in points given up. Does Tom make promises he can’t keep and we’re stuck with TO one more year?
  24. six vs. three on the line. You might as well have 0 against six.
