  1. Co-signed on Oregon, Washington, and Wisconsin. Service academies never really occurred to me but would be cool. Would add: Run it back with USC, more interesting than reprising with ND Colorado Arizona Minnesota Northwestern Pitt UVA You could maybe talk me into UNC Boise State if they reestablish themselves as the G5 helmet school.
  2. It's not the worst matchup in the world but it's also not the best. I think the game gets condensed and the scoreline is close-ish. Some brief meltdowns in the game thread although the outcome is never seriously in doubt. Texas: 27 Kentucky: 14 Combined yardage: 616
  3. Louisiana did that a long time ago.
  4. Imagine losing a commit to Florida State.
  5. Agreed. What's even the case for it at this point? Also, really don't like the idea of selling to sovereign wealth funds, specifically.
  6. What's there to talk about? She lost. She's a lame duck VP. She's not doing or going to do anything newsworthy. She's not riling up supporters or going to incite an insurrection at the capitol. Romney became irrelevant overnight. McCain and Kerry remained relevant as Senators and that's it. Gore became irrelevant overnight after the election was decided. Dole became irrelevant overnight, or maybe was even irrelevant before the election. This is how it's supposed to go. You keep your mouth shut.
  7. "I'm thinking you cannot execute your way down the field consistently over the course of a full game" is the correct bet to make against almost any college offense - Texas included, by the way - especially when you have the talent that Texas has getting after the QB and on the back end
  8. Guys, hear me out. May I suggest Tom Herman?
  9. Absolutely this, but I also have serious doubts this all star team is competent enough to do the work of dismantling the government. Make it function less effectively? Sure, almost a given tbh. But affecting actual, structural change? Don't know about that one. It would be fascinating to watch if not for the stakes.
  10. I can smell the spray tan through my computer
  11. Yeah I thought FAU would be a sweet spot of sorts for him. Low enough profile to avoid some of the pitfalls at Texas, but plenty of second and third tier local talent that can play. He and his staff were bad roster managers but I think what Sark and co. have done with a lot of his guys tells us the evals were there, which would seem to tee him up at a place like FAU. Maybe it really is just the alcohol/coke stuff. Hope he gets right if that's the case.
  12. If you make either one of those trips, you deserve what you get.
  13. Consider the source.
  14. Assuming neither Texas or aggy lose to their cupcakes this coming weekend, the winner is in. Bama will be in if they win out (at OU, vs Auburn) and Georgia would take their place otherwise. I'm sure there are other chaos scenarios but that's the gist of it.
  15. Yeah that's a weird thing to say. The ability to pop a big play is the number one threat from this offense. Without that they would be a horrid unit.
  16. Mike Johnson not at the table is flying under the radar but hysterical to me
  17. Texas not only nearly lost to K State last year, but K State really should have won the game. It took their galaxy brain OC a whole half to realize running right into T'Vondre Sweat and Byron Murphy was a poor choice and that he should instead utilize his veteran QB to pick on Texas's horrid secondary. He never quit the QB power into the pair of NFL DTs on the other side, even in big moments late in the game. Guess who calls the plays for Texas A&M this year? As far as Kentucky goes, should be a snoozer even if clunky. Texas is just a significantly better version of their good defense and lacking offense. Unless Texas turns it over and gives Kentucky a short field multiple times I doubt the outcome is ever in doubt. I'd be surprised if Kentucky got past 10 unless it's garbage time.
  18. My brother in Christ, Oklahoma beat Auburn on the road. Cal beat Auburn on the road. Vanderbilt beat Auburn on the road. Auburn has no Power 4 home wins this year. Aggy will play it vanilla and it will probably be closer than they care for but Auburn is horrid. I would be shocked if they lost.
  19. Well it depends on a lot of different results but the most likely unless there's a lot of chaos would be Bama, UGA if Bama drops a game (at OU, vs Auburn)
  20. Texas ran the ball pretty effectively most of the game, and notably was best in the 4th quarter. Sark chose to lean into the pass early. Maybe he didn't feel he could lean on the run, maybe he wanted to go after the Arkansas pass defense, maybe Arkansas was playing RPOs to force a throw whatever. Getting to obvious passing situations because of a couple penalties and sacks influenced calls too no doubt. These are Texas RB carries by possession: 5 plays: 1-3 3 plays: 1-7 6 plays (TD): 3-24 3 plays: 1-4 11 plays (FG): 4-7, with a 4th and short conversion and 6 yard run called back with a hold 12 plays: 4-15 First half: 14-60, 4.2 ypc 7 plays (FG): 4-11, probably the worst running drive situationally. A first down loss by Wisner early, and only 3 yards on 2 carries after 1st down from the piggy 13 3 plays: 1-(-2) 8 plays (TD): 5-46, 28 yard run by Blue 14 plays (end of game): 8-26, with the whole stadium knowing the drill Final line: 33-147, 4.45 ypc
  21. The run game worked pretty well except where Sark was getting really predictable with it on first down. Both Ewers sacks were primarily on him and he didn't have a ton of pressure in his face all day. Think the OL had a pretty good day today.
  22. Any road conference win is a good win. I tend to think the defense played really well and was getting worn down by the second half. Really felt like Texas was gonna fuck around and blow it there in the late third/early fourth but credit to the offense for stepping up when they absolutely had to. I believe if Texas doesn't go down and score when they get the ball up 13-10, Arkansas wins the game. Ewers, I mean, it is what it is. Think he played okay. Took care of the ball and hit on some really nice short/intermediate throws. Also had some self sacks that were big setbacks and missed Helm on that slant that should have been 20-0. The deep balls are head scratchers. He is worse than 2022 somehow. Sark's clearly not going to make a change at this point but there's no way this team wins a title when defenses don't have to take the vertical passing game remotely seriously. Feeling pretty zen about it honestly. Let's just go beat aggy. 11-1 with a 3-0 record against OU, piglets, and aggy all away from home would be a categorical success.
  23. My first reaction is that he is insulting the intelligence of his voters and consistently being proven right for it, ala Abbott or Cruz. But actually when you look at his broader record I think he's just in the Dan Patrick or Sid Miller archetype of being that stupid.
  24. Jesus fucking Christ. I'd say this guy's professional career just ended but he'll actually get a raise in the right wing grifting sphere. Kyle Rittenhouse style.
