  1. The first time Texas touched ball in the 2006 Rose Bowl was a muffed punt that set USC up in Texas territory and led to a USC TD. I assume you turned that game off too? I will say I couldn’t help but laugh when Texas jumped offside on both the first offensive and defensive snaps of the game. Very on brand.
  2. At 10-2 with 12 playoff spots and very possibly a SEC CG appearance? Yes, probably so.
  3. 10-2/9-3 is competing for a 12-team playoff spot and a SEC championship berth if one of those Ls is Michigan. I think we need to know what Ewers is doing before making any serious predictions about next season but if you wouldn’t take that you are dumb. That is the reasonable bar for success.
  4. This is the staff change I want to see long term. I know they aren’t shaking shit up after this year but the secondary looking completely lost has been a consistent theme while the front has improved. Replacing PK is simply not justifiable but Terry Joseph’s body of work as CB coach and passing game coordinator is dogshit after three years
  5. I’d push back on this specific point. They have three future pros and the Texas secondary was simply outmanned. If you gave me the single data point that Penix would not be sacked at all I’d have bet the house on Washington. Texas’s defense was just beat up and down the field. I mean, I don’t hit 11 YPA on NCAA 14.
  6. Tough way to lose but honestly it would kind of have been some bullshit to win because of an extremely unfortunately timed injury to the Washington RB. I hope he is okay and good luck to them in the final. They played a great game and Texas didn’t really have an answer for their passing game. The goal line fade is the football version of the iso contested mid range jumper. I hate it and I don’t care if it worked the one time. If anything that’s a reason to go away from it later on. Just a really disappointing game planning and play calling display from Sark tonight. I think DeBoer thoroughly outcoached him. Despite all that the bottom line is Texas fumbled the ball away twice, including one deep in UW territory, in a one score game. The team that made fewer mental mistakes and took better care of the ball was always going to win this game and that was Washington. They were just the better team. Still a great year, proud of the team, and will remember them fondly for a long time. Not buying into the meltdown stuff. Enjoy the season and the team for what it is.
  7. Yep. To beat elite you have to be elite. Texas isn’t, not tonight.
  8. lol they haven’t the slightest clue what is going on
  9. I don’t understand the no call. Either the play is live and it’s a block in the back or it’s inconsequential/dead play and unnecessary roughness. You can’t just erase it. But still, Washington is completing passes before the defense even knows what is going on. Just completely outclassed.
  10. One coach has a 90% career win percentage and one had never won 9 before this season. Sark has done a legitimately fantastic job as a program builder but not at all surprised DeBoer is coaching circles around him in a one game situation
  11. *gestures generally at game*
  12. Washington is a fantastically well coached team. Dude has a 90% career winning percentage for a reason.
  13. Yeah their offense is barely even being challenged. I don’t really have it in me to be upset. This was always on the table. If anyone didn’t think so that’s on them.
  14. I mean , this but unironically. 12-1 with an outright Big 12 championship and a CFP appearance. For me this game is house money. I want to win obviously but it’s a great year anyway
  15. It was atrocious on that third and eight, and was obvious pre snap. Any HS QB makes that throw. The TD, yeah. They are very good. Should not be a surprise.
  16. These are pros against a college secondary, a pretty average one at that. Texas has to score every time they touch the ball and get another turnover/ST luck changing type play
  17. Fuck that poverty program
  18. They muffed a punt to gift us a TD and cost themselves points with some extremely vanilla third and fourth down play calls in Texas territory. Easy there.
  19. Have to get to third down to do that
  20. lol yeah go back and read the OU game thread and tell me if we agree with that
  21. The defense is not going to find an answer. The Washington passing game is too good. The defensive adjustment is ball control offense.
  22. Enormous answer. I’m not sure the D is going to find an answer but that is huge for the offense, both on the scoreboard and in terms of rhythm and confidence in an impending shootout
  23. God damn the refs for dropping that!!!!
