  1. One of the guys on the sub actually went to the Mariana Trench in a different sub. I can’t believe he saw the Titanic one after that and said sign me up.
  2. This is all I could think about when you guys mentioned banging.
  3. The heat index is gonna be 150 down there with all that hot rubber in the turf
  4. I think this was the 3rd after 2 completed visits to the Titanic. It would have been very ironic had this been the maiden voyage.
  5. This movie is a great look at the inside of the Titanic. Their equipment from 20 years ago looks light years ahead of that sperm looking death tube.
  6. If I was in the sub I would have remembered my Super Mario World training and hit Start + Select on the controls to leave the current mission.
  7. Would not be surprised if they got swallowed by a whale and are now trapped inside the belly
  8. Instead of doing all this bullshit, I would have taken their money, dropped the sub in some water, then pretend to go deep ocean when really it’s the windows showing a VR version of the Titanic wreckage. How would the people inside know? They’re stupid enough to pay $250K, they’re stupid enough to believe it.
  9. If their communication system wasn’t using Starlink, Elon would have thrown in his 2 cents with dozens of tweets by now.
  10. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/titanic-submarine-missing-rescue-mission-underway-newfoundland-canada/ Submarine on expedition to Titanic wreck goes missing, "search and rescue operation" underway Updated on: June 19, 2023 / 11:47 AM By Emmet Lyons, Tucker Reals A search and rescue mission was underway Monday morning for a submarine that went missing in the North Atlantic on an expedition to explore the wreckage of the Titanic. Lt. Jordan Hart of the U.S. Coast Guard in Boston told CBS News that personnel were "currently undergoing a search and rescue operation" when asked about the rescue efforts off the coast of Newfoundland. OceanGate Expeditions, a company that deploys manned submersibles for deep sea expeditions, confirmed in a statement that its sub was the subject of the rescue operation, adding that it was "exploring and mobilizing all options to bring the crew back safely." The company did not say how many people were on board the missing vessel or whether any of them were paying tourists, whom it does take as passengers on its expeditions. "Our entire focus is on the crewmembers in the submersible and their families," said OceanGate, adding that it was "deeply thankful for the extensive assistance we have received from several government agencies and deep sea companies in our efforts to reestablish contact with the submersible." A map shows the point where the RMS Titanic sank in the North Atlantic, on April 15, 1912, about 380 miles southeast of the Newfoundland, Canada coast and some 1,300 miles east of its destination in New York City. Getty/iStockphoto OceanGate recently said on its website and social media feeds that an expedition to the wreckage of the RMS Titanic, which lies about 400 miles southeast of the Newfoundland coast, was "underway." Contacted by CBS News, the Canadian Coast Guard said the rescue operation was being managed by the Boston Regional Coordination Center, and a map showing jurisdictions for the various coastal search and rescue agencies off the North American coast shows the location of the Titanic wreck within the Boston center's area of responsibility. Earlier this month, OceanGate said on Twitter that it was using satellite company Starlink to help maintain communications with its expedition to the Titanic. "Despite being in the middle of the North Atlantic, we have the internet connection we need to make our Titanic dive operations a success — thank you Starlink," the tweet said. The company's website advertises seven-night voyages to see the Titanic wreckage priced at $250,000. The company last tweeted about the Titanic expedition on June 15. A visit to RMS Titanic OceanGate's submersible, The Titan, is the only five-person sub in the world capable of reaching the Titanic wreck, which sits 2.4 miles below the sea surface. CBS News "Sunday Mornings" correspondent David Pogue joined the crew of the vessel, along with a small group of intrepid tourists, for a journey to see the world's most famous shipwreck last year. As he got situated in the vessel, which he said had about as much room inside as a minivan, Pogue said he "couldn't help noticing how many pieces of this sub seemed improvised, with off-the-shelf components," including a video game controller that was used to pilot the sub. This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
  11. I agree with this, but I am pretty sure that if ABIA had a larger queue area for TSA security, they would take even longer. Even though the long lines are fucking stupid, it creates a sense of urgency that the line should be moving. If we had a huge area where everyone can be roped off to the side, TSA would not be pressured to move things along quicker.
  12. Mark Cuban telling Rogan and Elon to suck a dick while plugging his Cost Plugs Drugs.
  13. The Athletic is losing money because they push so hard for pay to read articles while not realizing that you can read all their shit for free if you just turn on Reader on iPhones.
  14. Being stupid and stealing are no longer bad anymore if you have enough likes and followers online. This is why everything feels like a simulation.
  15. I’m not a weather dude and I know it’ll be hot. But the last few times it was hot, it was just skin burning Arizona hot. My balls were dry and my wife’s tits didn’t have the boob sweat that large chested women have to suffer with in this Texas humidity. So does this Friday forecast mean that the heat from now on will come with a full serving of swamp ass and sweaty tits until October?
  16. This used to be the 100-Airport Flyer. It would make a stop once at the UT campus, downtown, and once off Riverside. It was fast and convenient to get to the airport from Campus and downtown. The only option to the airport now is using a traditional bus route (20-Manor/Riverside) with several stops. CapMetro is stupid for not bringing this route back post-COVID to see how many people would use it.
  17. The airport flyer costs $1.25 and takes about 35 minutes to get downtown. But nobody wants to ride a bus and sit in traffic. If this route was enclosed and independent of traffic, people would use it way more often even if it is just a bus. So what’s the cost difference between building a light rail vs closed BRT system? Why is BRT good enough for some routes but a light rail is needed for others? Why not make all the routes one or the other? I’m not anti-light rail, I am just for a mass transit system that is the least expensive to build. I hate riding the bus too, but riding a system independent of traffic is more important than method of transportation.
  18. Wouldn’t it just be cheaper to make a BRT system in the space where the light rail would be on the street level?
  19. I could see LeBron missing most of next season with some type of injury. I don’t think he can handle all the attention that will be given to Wembanyama next year either. The following year will be all about him “returning” to the NBA the same year his son is drafted. And that’s what everyone is going to be talking about all fucking year in 2024.
  20. Lebron has been scared to go hard in the paint since he got off the HGH
