  1. So, in theory, the “haves” essentially are given a farm system, correct? Assuming the NIL goes the way we want it to, and we become the gold standard, you let others take the recruiting risk and then snag them once they are developed. You essentially take who you absolutely want while recruiting, but no longer take any as a flyer. Use those extra roster spots to snag developed talent to fill any holes/weaknesses, and the NIL already in place is the magnet used for them to choose us. Staff analysts whose sole job it is to identify current talent on other rosters and then backchannel them here. Sounds good
  2. Well are we opposed to tampering? Because if we are opposed to tampering, we are doing this with an arm tied behind our back. Stud portals know where they are going upon entering.
  3. Once payment was allowed, it was always going to go this route. This path was inevitable.
  4. What if only 16 teams out of 130 won a CFP game? That’s less than 13% would that be parity? because if 4 different teams went each year (the most diverse it could possibly be), the maximum amount of parity possible would be under 13%🤷🏼‍♂️
  5. I don’t know if expanding the playoff would necessarily benefit for parity purposes right away, but it would at least keep things more interesting for fans than it currently appears to be doing. 8 teams seems right. Every power 5 champ gets a representative, and then 3 at large bids. Winning your conference means something, as each conference winner gets a seat, and for years where a conference has multiple high powered teams, there are still 3 spots up for grabs. As it currently sits, once a conference has its top dog lose 2 games, you can all but kiss your chances of making it goodbye. The Autobids would nullify that exclusion. Sure, it wouldn’t ALWAYS get the best 8 representatives playing at end of year, but you had a chance to win your conference, so no griping . Leave it up to getting an auto bid, and the chips fall where they may🤷🏼‍♂️
  6. Didn’t take long for him to see the comment section didn’t react how he thought it would, so he deleted it😂😂
  7. I refuse to believe this. I’ve broken multiple things this season based on the Christian Jones’ play alone. You take that statement back!!!!
  8. Our current O-line probably would have looked worse in those drills than banks today, unfortunately
  9. Meh…. Player protection should only account for the first 3.5 qtrs. Deathball rules apply when game on the line. Gotta let that one run it’s course IMO
  10. Whistle doesn’t matter, the play was called short due to forward progress stopped. Simply a non-reviewable play. Tennessee got fucked on it, but thems be the breaks🤷🏼‍♂️
  11. Didn’t see it originally, so surfed Twitter to try and find. Is this the one?
  12. To be fair, the “word” was simply a $ amount, and then it cleared. This guy definitely is not worried about the numbers anymore
  13. Just has to start 1 game for bet taker to win? Hmmmmmmmm What’s your angle? 1)Badasses at the position preventing that from occurring 2) Mediocre comp, but you feel he’ll always be below mediocre
  14. They obviously had the want-to this cycle (albeit their NIL gig isn’t up and running yet). Looking at the big picture, it doesn’t appear to be a sustainable strategy IMO. Remember that we are dealing with the “I want it now” instant gratification generation. However talented a freshman is, they are still a freshman. Not all of them will start, or even see significant PT. How do they deal with that? Portal out? The bagmen financiers gotta have a risk/reward ratio, you’d think🤷🏼‍♂️. How many hits do they need to offset the misses in their eyes to make it worthwhile? Their initial investment is already above fair market value based on who they’ve lured in this cycle (this is merely my opinion, but you’re simply not going to convince me that they didn’t pay at least a 20% premium on most of these studs…..especially the out of state ones).
  15. Focusing on having the best NIL platform/structure in CFB will probably be the most important priority going forward. On a Macro level, Texas has the resources and capabilities that very few (if any) can compete with. We need to be the gold standard. HWH appears to have a very nice structure to it. A base pay for scholly athletes not only incentivizes players to stay, but attracts potential portal candidates from elsewhere to come. Theoretically, this should all but guarantee a very high floor (in terms of talent) for the entire roster. Bagmen aren’t going away. As long as a tactic works, it will be utilized. You will still have bidding wars amongst schools (bagmen) for the very elite recruits. If someone wants a person bad enough, they’ll over pay to get them. The NCAA most certainly isn’t going to do Jack shit about it. It’s very early in all of this still, and appears to still be in a “price discovery” phase. Aggy isn’t the only ones with bagmen, but they obviously paid more than all others were willing to go in this cycle (for more than just a few). They’ve essentially set themselves up to either match or increase the amount every subsequent year. The key question is how long they’ll be able/willing to sustain this.
  16. With the way recruits troll these days, you don’t send that out (tweet) unless you got the LOI in hand
  17. We can only hope that down the road, he’s one of those “hey I’m going to need more $ or else….” Types. Or….. that they have paid so many, they start talking amongst others and realize they were “lowballed” compared to their teammate. They are essentially creating a bomb within the locker room, and all that’s needed is a small spark to go boom. NIL is the route. Under the table just creates massive issues with tight lips needed. This ain’t that generation to have those. What happens next year when they request more payments or they’ll transfer? Do you allocate funds to retain, or are you using to buy the next batch of freshman? Guess we will see how it plays out🤷🏼‍♂️
