  1. Bobby is an idiot and simply running cover for the team he makes money off of. Everything is skewed to drive interest for next year's team.
  2. The OL this year was bad versus DL stunts. That should be fixed by coaching. Next year you should see an obvious improvement. If not, we are back to the drawing board. This year we had Freshmen playing. That excuse is gone in 2023.
  3. Yes. That is why I mention the offensive staff and gameplan as part of the problem. You can't divorce the two factors completely, but it isn't all just Ewers. The 8YPA isn't magical. It is a rule of thumb for mediocre play in college. They started dialing it back after OSU and then KSU, which means that is part of the issue but not all of it. Neyor could change that. Using multiple deep threats could help so that teams can't simply shadow Worthy could change it. I agree with the comment overall though.
  4. ~6 YPA is very bad for college football. I think ~8 YPA is average. It isn't the only stat to determine how good or bad a QB is, but it reflects completion % and success moving the ball down the field. Here is Ewers after OU. You can see statistically Ewers didn't have a good game until Baylor. I would say they were all bad with TCU and Kansas being garbage. Maybe it was understandable against ISU's defense. Against KSU he did well in the 1st half so it wasn't the defense. It was on him and Sark not adjusting to KSU. It looks like Sark figured something out after Kansas. Against Baylor, he didn't have many attempts but did good when called upon. The problem was giving up 8 points. Obviously concerning, but these types of things should get better as he gains experience. He wasn't bad with interceptions which was a concern coming into the year. That is on the positive side. I would say overall his play was a disappointment but understandable with his inexperience and seems like Sark is still trying to figure out how to use him best. ISU - 6.6 OSU - 6.5 KSU - 6.4 TCU - 4.4 KU - 5.1 BU - 12.1
  5. I didn't. If you didn't then good on you too. But that type of thing does have an effect. It became the narrative that only Ewers could "unlock" Sark's offense. Maybe he can maybe he can't. But when I pointed that out a couple of weeks ago the fine people of Surly reacted the way you would expect if you had drunk the koolaid.
  6. Leaving the idea of "7 win Sark" aside, I think part of the issue with fan expectations was the 9.95ers. I don't think anyone really expected much more than a 8-4 season until Boyd and others started proclaiming how excellent the Texas passing game was going to be. Losing Neyor for the year hurt but that wasn't the biggest issue. The biggest issue was the way over estimation of how good Ewers was going to be as first year starter. At a base level, QB play didn't get significantly better in 2022 compared to 2021. Even the last game of each season was reminiscent. Sark had to put the whole game on the shoulders of the OL and RBs. It worked both years. There is a good chance that next year is the year that Texas gets a big upgrade in QB play. Either Ewers will improve with an added year or hopefully Cark sticks around and continues his improvement curve. It was obvious 2021 to 2022. The point though is don't listen to talking heads. They make money by getting fans excited about the next season. We see the improvement curve now with 5-7 to 8-4 and recruiting well. Sark either builds on these results and makes something of himself or we stay around an 8-4 level and Texas starts looking for another coach in 3-4 years.
  7. Ian Boyd is a pussy, who has never played the game. Who cares what he has to say. His comment on Arch Manning is at best ignorant. He didn't notice how unprepared the team was in a make or break game for the season? I don't buy it. Sure he had fun hanging out with people. He will also enjoy Thanksgiving with his family. Poor analysis on how people make decisions. Arch may in fact come to Texas. Or he may decide he won't be developed enough. No one knows until he signs the paper. One thing I do know. Arch won't be satisfied being on the field and making NIL money.
  8. He is mentally weak. His don't give a shit attitude is just that. He isn't calm in the line of fire. He doesn't care that much as long as he gets to start and is getting money.
  9. Probably. But who cares what players do when they leave Texas? I'm a Texas fan. Not a fan of players that used to play here. I am when they do something at Texas, like Deonte Foreman.
  10. If so that's criminal. They played like crap in the 2nd half. If they were coasting on that then Sark should be fired tonight.
  11. The issue isn't who was better. Yes Stewart was better. My point is that our best WR recruit for some reason isn't good enough to get on the field. If Neyor was healthy that is understandable. But he's hurt and they need more speed on the field. Agiye Hall is a waste of a roster spot. Billingsley hasn't done anything either. But a high 4 star WR can't get on the field. Seems sketchy to me.
  12. Thompson was a 4 star recruit with a 94.43 rating. Good enough to contribute as a WR. Stewart was a 5 star with a 98.43 rating. He was a better recruit, but on the same planet? Yes. They were on the same planet. Xavier Worthy was a 4 star prospect with a 95.76 rating. These are all similarly rated players.
  13. I don't know. Is he playing our best rated WR Freshmen? Is Stewart that much better than Thompson?
  14. That's on the coaches this far into the season. Sark doesn't hold players accountable and he doesn't challenge bad calls. That long run was due to a hold on Watts.
  15. I didn't see that. I saw Worthy, Sanders, and Billingsley do that. You are probably thinking of Billingsley.
  16. Where is Brennen Thompson? Sark won't even play the Freshmen. Evan Stewart is playing at A&M, not Thompson.
  17. It's a joke that Texas couldn't block TCU on the run. The aren't big on talent but aggressive. They just had to increase their level of intensity and focus to execute blocks. If they did that Bijan would make people miss. He's a super talent. But they never gave him a chance.
  18. Sark gets one more year to get into the conference championship game. If he doesn't fire his ass. Don't keep running with someone you know who can't get it done. Texas recruits better than everyone else in the Big12 and has forever. If player development is the issue, it's Sark.
  19. The D is going to break at some point.
  20. Swoopes was the worst ever.
  21. Maybe TCU will knock Ewers out. One can wish.
  22. TCU is a 2nd half team. Texas is a 1st half team. They better break pattern.
  23. Sark couldn't even wait for one series to throw deep. What a joke.
