  1. Fuckin Art Briles.... piece of shit.
  2. Except nobody on that list has anything as good as wins over: 3, 8, 12 as you can see..... the Florida St loss is just as bad as the Florida loss at this point. If Vandy wins out Tennessee will be unranked, same with Michigan if they lose to Ohio St. You're also acting like Alabama didn't survive losing to 3-7 South Carolina.
  3. Let's play this out. Texas 10-2 - Best wins: #3 Texas A&M, #8 Oklahoma, #12 Vanderbilt (assuming they're 12 if they win out) - Losses: 3-9 Florida, #4 Georgia Oklahoma 10-2 - Best Wins: #10 Alabama, #15 Michigan, #18 Tennessee (in this scenario Michigan and Tennessee might be unranked as they would both have another loss) Losses: #6 Ole Miss, #9 Texas (assuming 9th with only two losses) Alabama 10-2 Best wins: #4 Georgia, #12 Vanderbilt, #18 Tennessee Losses: 5-6 FSU, #8 Oklahoma Vanderbilt 10-2 Best wins: 7-4 Missouri Losses: #10 Alabama, #9 Texas In this scenario Texas has the best win and the worst loss. But owns H2H over Oklahoma. I think Alabama is the odd man out in this scenario.
  4. And Alabama's losses to Florida St and Oklahoma totally kick ass right? Again, you're making this too much about Texas rather than the ramifications of what comes with it. This was Texas Tech's OOC schedule: Arkansas-Pine Bluff Kent St Oregon St FCS games shouldn't even count towards your win/loss record. So a team like Indiana should be viewed as an 8-0 team instead of an 11-0 team. They're ranked second solely for winning at Oregon six weeks ago.
  5. Yes we can. You're completely overlooking the ramifications of scheduling and being purposely obtuse. You keep saying "Florida and Georgia losses are terrible" to the committee all losses are "terrible" since a 10-2 Texas that still lost to Florida and Georgia by 31 points is in the playoffs by playing Rice instead of Ohio St. Why are you just blowing past that?
  6. And would a 10-2 Texas with that schedule be in or out?
  7. Exactly what I'm saying. And on the flip side. What is Texas' record with BYU's schedule?
  8. This has nothing to do with Texas. I don't think the Horns look anything close to a playoff team this year. However, I don't think BYU, Utah, Notre Dame, Indiana, etc would have a better record with our schedule either. Do you? Hell, Arizona St lost in Starkville with Leavitt and Tyson. For sure Bear Bachmeier goes better than 3-1 playing this schedule and away from home for a month, right? @ Florida Oklahoma - neutral field @ Kentucky @ Mississippi St I think they're 2-2 at best.
  9. Because they suffer from the same problem pollsters do. Which is, the numbers in the W/L column instead of actually looking at whom those W/L's were built on. If all things were more balanced, nobody would finish undefeated. The fact is, Florida easily has the most talented roster if they joined the Big 12 tomorrow.
  10. I don't understand how people don't get this? There's a huge problem in college football and that problem is scheduling imbalance. Do we really believe Indiana, Texas Tech, BYU, Utah don't have more losses with Georgia, Ohio St, Alabama, Oklahoma, Michigan, etc on the schedule. Until games against Long Island and Chattanooga St no longer count towards data points then There's completely no reason to schedule hard games other than for fan enjoyment. Losing by 7 in Columbus to #1 Ohio St is more impressive than beating 1-9 Samford 56-0. And should be weighted and measured as such.
  11. Since Mississippi St this defense is allowing 35 points per game. Not sure what happened in Starkville, but they've gone full retard ever since.
  12. Fuckin old people and Luby's. Memories of that Mac and cheese from going there with my grandma as a kid lol.
  13. Just listened to the Taaffe post game interview. Why is there some weird unspoken rule to just say "this season we fuckin failed. Our goals here are always to play for championships and this year we failed to deliver." Instead we get "this season was a disappointment? To who?" Ummm if you're not disappointed in whatever the fuck you put on the field in 2025 then holy shit.
  14. Lincoln Riley is the biggest pussy coach to ever exist. If he were ever courted to seriously take over in Austin, the fans should do more than throw shit on the field. They should throw shit at Belmont.
  15. It will be the end of his career if he does. He's not some monumental play caller. Him going to the Titans or wherever won't end with Superbowl's. It'll most likely end after three straight sub .500 seasons that get him terminated and the only folks interested are G5's or Wake Forest. All that, instead of swallowing some fuckin pride. Realizing you're not God's gift to offensive football strategy. And hiring some great coaches to a great university and city. Pride really is a deadly sin. He certainly won't be the last it takes down if he walks that path.
  16. Ironically, had their power and dicks got their way, getting Saban would've been a godsend. And they were 100% correct on Strong being a retarded hire. Fair. I hear he's available......
  17. I'm not saying "every" game or even championships. I'm saying you have to be able to "coach" into a win when you're out talented. Otherwise just hire any dipshit and buy the best roster every year.
  18. If you can only win with the most talented roster are you really a great coach? "Project 5 Star" is a weird narrative. To become a 5 star means you display attributes that show you are above the high school level and could compete in college day 1. Perhaps recruiting services are giving out 5 stars easier now, but the point still stands. Sark has also displayed he doesn't evaluate talent very good. Beginning with starting Baxter over Brooks. Some of his evals seem FUMP-like in the instance of "are you just offering stars by their name or are you actually evaluating the player?"
  19. Why is it so hard for this university to find this again?
  20. Let's take a peek. Offense: WR1 - Wingo - St Louis, MO WR2 - Moore - Anaheim, CA WR3 - Mosley - Chicago, IL TE - Endries - Danville, CA LT - Goosby - Melissa, TX (Melissa HS) LG - Hutson - Frisco, TX (Frisco HS) C - Robertson - Austin, TX (Westlake HS) RG - Campbell - Arlington, TX (Bowie HS) RT - Baker - Ontario, CA QB - Manning - New Orleans, LA RB - Wisner - DeSoto, TX (DeSoto HS) TX starters - 5/11 Defense: DE - Burke - Austin, TX (Westlake HS) NT - Kanu - Santa Margarita, CA DT - January - Duncanville, TX (Duncanville HS) EDGE - Simmons- Duncanville, TX (Duncanville HS) WLB - Hill - Denton, TX (Ryan HS) MLB - Lefau - Laie, HI CB - Muhammad - Dallas, TX (South Oak Cliff HS) SS - McDonald - Waco, TX (Connally HS) FS - Taaffe - Austin, TX (Westlake HS) CB - Guilbeau - Port Arthur, TX (Memorial HS) N - Littleton - Tampa, FL TX Starters 8/11 The defensive unit is much better than the offensive unit..... hmmm. 13/22 starters are Texans. 59%
  21. I have a theory about ex-QB's that become coaches and the hero complex they have about what it means to be QB1 and winning on the arm of throwing. When in reality the 05 Horns and many many other examples this game has always been about the same thing. 1.) Establish the run. 2.) Stop the opponent from running. It allows you to control the pace of the game. You can offset talent deficiencies. Running the football is like a fight. Everyone is tasked with whipping the man in front of you. It's why it's demoralizing when you can't stop it. You're getting bludgeoned over and over and over. Then the knockout punch with a deep shot. I've noticed coaches that are ex-OL and ex-Defensive players understand and press into this.
  22. And if we didn't have completely brain dead players, that shit would've backfired and quickly flipped to a 17-14 game. But being 130+ in penalties and lack of discipline showed its face and that was that. Every time he played Oklahoma St lol
  23. PK has literally been his saving grace. Without elite defense over these past few years, this is Charlie Strong level of bad.
  24. Is he an NFL guy lol? I've seen nothing from him to say he's a next level player.
  25. It's been a week or two but I did the breakdown. Over the four week Florida through Vandy stretch the defense played roughly 30 more snaps per game.
