Hit Bushwacker. It's a long black trail that gets groomed. So it will be so sweet with that powder on top. No moguls under neath. But with 16 inches, every run will be sweet.
What i didn't expect was to hit a crazy storm around Amarillo. Hail, torrential rain, wind. Same storm dropped a huge tornado outside Paducah. We saw storm chasers on the side of the road about 10 minutes east of Amarillo. That's never a good sign.
We arrive in CB on Sunday. Monday should be nice, with another wave of snow Tuesday PM. Wednesday could be a powder day. That's my planned free day anyway. Come on, Urll, gimme shelter!
Here's a 3 day snow total forecast for Colorado area. Ground zero will be up north of Ft Collins. Here's a link to the Colorado road conditions. The live cams can be useful. https://www.cotrip.org/map.htm#/default
Finally took them out for a test drive. They hit the same as my Callaway Xforged, except they are 1* weaker so about 3 yds shorter. Pretty negligible to be honest. The turf interaction is much better though, the Miuras cut through like a hot knife through butter. They punish you for mishits, for sure, but not too bad.
We are driving to CB on Sunday. A little worried, but monitoring the situation. We aren't going through Denver, but taking a southern route through Raton-Alamosa-Gunnison. After Raton, just one pass to go through South of Gunnison.
We are fortunate, our lease landowner is remote. He just owns a bunch of land as long term investments. We built this fire pit this year. It's about 8 feet in diameter. You can put very large trees in there, lol. Slowly making our camp nicer each year.
Austin peeps, I'm headed to Austin about once every 3 months for work and was wondering if any music venues are open and running right now? Continental Club? 4th Street area? Anything?
Had a nice hunt this morning with 2 buddies. 1 pintail, 2 widgeon, 9 gadwall and 1 big ol Canadian honker. Heard a group of geese coming from behind us, hit the call, and about 20 of them buzzed us. Nailed one DOA.
The only thing preventing me from going lithium is how poor they perform in cold weather. I use my cart for hunting, so temps in the 20s and 30s are the norm. If your cart is for urban use, then it's a no brainer.
I was invited on a hunt outside of Brady, shot this nice cull 8 pt. He is old as hell, I've never seen a buck get this old to be honest. From the jaw, he looks to be 8+ yrs.
Word. Go to High West and say hi to Cambrin for me. Or whatever hot bartender works there now. Oh, and enjoy a bloody mary at the sports bar across from Town Lift. Best in town.
Stay at base of PCMR, or in downtown PC and ride the Town Lift. Walk to all bars and restaurants at night. I for one will enjoy a COVID ski season. Keep the riff raff away, so hopefully no lift lines. Eat lunch on the mountain and dinner at the condo/house. Works for me.
